The grilled octopus was so good it might actually be my favorite part of the whole meal even though it was all so good. Definitely don't miss out on the octopus appetizer. My friends and I tried Prosecco for Chicago restaurant week on a Friday night and it was an amazing experience. We had reservation for a big party and were seated immediately once we arrived. We ordered bread service for the table and 2 bottles of red and white wine to get started. All of us chose the restaurant week menu. For apps we had the tomato soup or arugula salad. Both were absolutely amazing! For main course, we had Risotto and Norcina (without meat) the sauces were so rich and creamy, relished every bite. My husband joined me for happy hour at Prosecco. They have an amazing happy hour at the bar only, their cocktails are great, but the hi-light is their half priced pastas! Their drink options are limited, but I love their LECHE MARTINI, shaken and cold each time, and my husband enjoys the OLD FASHIONED. Their food items are so unique- the LUMACHE has escargot, pancetta and benchmael. You have to order some extra bread to enjoy the sauce. The stuffed dates are so large and tasty. My favorite, pasta is their special TARTUFATE truffles, mushroom, and sun dried tomatoes. My husband loves CALEBRESE, so light and refreshing, with mint and shrimp. We reserved prosecco as a carb load dinner the night before the marathon and it did not disappoint. The dimly lit restaurant was beautiful and conveniently located near our hotel. While the dinner portion for the risotto was generous, the carbonara was quite small. After attending the River North street festival for the afternoon, a nice meal seemed to be a good idea, however since I wasn't dressed up like I normally do for dinner, I was judged at the door, shoved into a small dark corner table and given a terrible server! When I said I only wanted a small plate he was really rude about it as if to say why waste his time and the worst was when refilling my water glass, he touched the lip of the pitcher to my glass each time! Uhmmm did a global pandemic not teach this dude anything? SMH. My pasta was crunchy (not el dente) and when I asked where the panceta was, he told me it was in the sauce base not pieces of it. Actually that is so untrue because I have had this before here and there are supposed to be actual pieces of meat in the pasta dish. He tried to tell me it was cooked the way of the Italians... well here's the kicker: I AM ITALIAN and crunchy hard rigatoni is not a thing! Not anywhere but in his imagination. There was not any offer to remake it with more cooked rigatoni, instead Raul (yes management deserves to know his name) just dropped off the check and stopped coming to the table. I ended up paying at the bar totally annoyed by the whole experience. Absolutely abhorrent for an establishment to allow this to any patron. Ambiance is definitely upscale but it is no excuse if you choose to be open during a street festival to treat anyone this way. Just appauling! read more

Went here as a quick option before going to a rooftop bar and it was easy to snag a reservation here. It seems like the kind of place not many people know about given its underrated vibe. Overall the food was enjoyable! I'd say the standout of our meal was the carpaccio. A bit bummed that you have to pay extra for bread service and overall it wasn't worth it. The seafood risotto was good as well, but very filling. Had a great dinner here last night with a group of work colleagues. Just about every plate of food that landed on our table was absolutely devoured with great delight. The appetizers got us off to a very strong start. We ordered the meatball, which was fantastic nice and tender with a wonderful sauce on top of it. The sausage and peppers which was again a phenomenal dish in the sauce that came with the sausage and peppers was so good. They were dipping our bread into it just to get a couple of extra tastes of sauce. The star of the show was the stuffed. This is one of the best bites of food. I've had in a long, long time a wonderful sweet date stuffed with Italian sausage and wrapped in bacon. It was a perfect combination of sweet and salty. just a fantastic fantastic dish. Because we went on appetizers, most of our group went with salads for entrées. Those all looked fine although a salad is an entrée isn't that and spurring to me. I did get the Bolognese as well and I thought it was really good. The sauce was nice and flavorful plenty of meat if anything, the pasta might have been slightly undercooked, but Was not big enough an issue to bring down the rating of the restaurant overall. On top of the great food, the service is wonderful as well, constantly stopping by the table to make sure we are enjoying our food and checking to see if there's anything else we needed which because of their diligent attention to our table that rarely was the case. read more

My friend and I decided to try this spot for dinner on a whim. There was an issue with our reservation through a third party app but Stefania went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great! We sat at the bar, which has very comfortable chairs. The food was perfectly phased out - we had their bread and shared the meatballs for an appetizer, and shared a pasta dish as our main which we both agreed was delicious. It was my friend's birthday this week and they gave her a tiramisu to celebrate! The restaurant had the perfect ambiance for our girls night and all staff were so nice and accommodating. Prosecco was the best option for a last minute reservation on a Friday night... for 10 people! They did well! Our server Raul was polite but not chatty - and he didn't miss a beat! The perfectly toasted bread with the sweet savory combo of burrata tomatoes basil and honey was unique and one that we thoroughly enjoyed. The chef was flexible to make us a mushroom risotto as a vegetarian option and it was INCREDIBLE. So creamy and packed with flavor! Same with the rigatoni...it was a hit with adults and toddlers alike. So I just so happened to be in Chicago for Restaurant week!! I had to take advantage of this opportunity and find a restaurant to go to. I settled in on Prosecco after seeing so many pictures of the Tartufate (orecchiette pasta, mushroom, esparagus, tomatoes, black truffle cream). I knew that I had to have that. I could tell it was going to be amazing just by the pictures. So it was my goal to try it! I couldn't decide on whether I should just the regular size or get the appetizer size that came with the restaurant week menu. My waiter was great - he informed me that it would be a decent size, even though it was the appetizer. So I went with that as the appetizer and the Filetto di Manzo (6 oz prime beef, bone marrow butter, charred broccolini). I did add some Parmesan to the pasta- that really made the flavors come together. The beef was perfectly cooked and didn't need anything extra. Loved the broccolini too! Very flavorful. I'm so grateful for that menu! I got the best of both worlds. After reading some mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect for our first dinner here, but overall we had a good experience! I had the bolognese which was really good - I'm a sauce fan so felt like it could have used a scoop more, but overall really nice. My husband got the branzino which tasted fresh, my friend got the halibut special and loved it, and another friend got the seafood pasta and liked it. Good cocktails and wine. It does feel a little cramped in there and where our table was, but overall good atmosphere. A friend also shared feedback that the men's bathroom was tight quarters and lacked privacy. I am most impressed with how piping hot the foods come out and you can tell every app, meal, and dessert item isn't rushed when made for you. Food was fantastic. Service was great as well. But be warned. They do NOT have valet parking despite what the page says. We sat outside for 5 minutes. Called. And found out the hard way. The only way to park at that point is to valet at the restaurant across the street which involves a u turn. It's very clear the poor guy running the Valet is overwhelmed. It took 20 minutes to get a ticket. Having to cross a busy street in 10 degree weather was a lot of fun as well. After dinner the same thing. About 20 minutes to get the car in the freezing cold. Definitely not the poor valet's fault. I can't imagine what it must be like to have to be the only person to deal with cars for two large restaurants. Again the place itself is fantastic. Food was superb and so was the service. Just be very aware that the parking is a nightmare. I would give yourself at least 30 minutes before your reservation. I would definitely recommend doing an additional valet at least on the weekend. With a restaurant this good having it be taken down a notch like this due to parking is totally unnecessary. read more

A friend recommended this restaurant to us so my husband and I went for an early dinner before catching a comedy show in the Loop. Ambiance and service were great but it couldn't have made up for how horrible the food was. The bread was in no way impressive. The Caesar salad looked and tasted like something you'd get from a hospital cafeteria. My husband's steak had great flavor was there were parts of it that were completely raw. The worst dish by far was the Carbonara. It was gray because they put entirely too much pepper in it which completely overpowered the taste of the dish. I've never been served gray carbonara in my life. Asparagus was very good, so they have that going for them. Sadly, won't be going back. read more

I highly recommend coming to Prosecco! The restaurant is very beautiful inside with chandeliers all over the ceilings. They also have outdoor seating which is perfect for a beautiful evening for pasta under the lights. We ordered an aeperol spritz ($15) and lychee martinis ($18) for the table to wind down after a work day. We ordered some starts for the table and were having a hard time deciding how much to order since we didn't want to order too much. We ordered the bacon wrapped dates ($18), the burrata ($18), and the lumache ($18) for the table. The burrata and bacon wrapped dates came with three pieces, but we were able to split everything as they were large pieces. Our favorite appetizer was the burrata as the tomato jam had a nice sweetness to it but it was not overpowering either. If I were to skip an appetizer, it would be the lumache but I am glad to have tried it. It was very refreshing. I could have easily eaten the whole dish to myself with how delicious it was. For the entrees, we order half portions for the Tartufate ($19), Risotto Frutti di Mare ($23), and Cavatelli ($19). We ordered a full portion of the Carbonara ($27), but a half portion could have been enough with us sharing family style. My favorite pastas were the carbonara and the Tartufate. The black truffle cream with a mix of sun-dried tomatoes and asparagus tasted like the perfect summer pasta. I am a sucker for anything with truffles so I needed to try it and you could taste all the different flavors mixed. The Carbonara was very creamy and I found myself not being able to stop eating it. The guanciale was not overpowering and a perfect amount to mix in some protein with carbs. The Cavatelli had a little spice that was very bearable and gave it a nice twist to the dish. It had a good mix of seafood and vegetables if you wanted a mix of protein, carbs, and vegetables. The saffron broth was a nice touch too as it gave it a summer appearance. The Risotto Frutti di Mare caught my attention with the squid ink. This dish had two difference sauces in the risotto mixed, the squid ink and white wine mixed with seafood. I loved the mix of the seafood as there was calamari, mussels, and shrimp in the dish but not too much as well. The must try appetizers and pastas for me would be the Burrata, Tartufate, and the Carbonara. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and were extremely full that we were able to bring leftovers. We were told the half portion pastas were appetizer sizes but we felt that the half portion sizes were the perfect amount of food. For the prices of the pastas and in River North, Prosecco doesn't break your bank and is reasonable compared to most Italian restaurants in the area. There weren't many people at first but there were three larger groups (around 10 each) that eventually showed and dined. We started with the bacon wrapped dates which were very good. I'm pretty sure there was also some sort of sausage stuffed in there. My friend ordered a pasta dish with clams and I went with the Anello, which were the lamb chops with green beans. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and loved marinade. There was perfect little crust around the bones. The green beans... meh. They were overcooked and a tad bland. The octopus was paired with a creamy squid ink aioli, so if you love mollusks, load up on this dish. The Caesar salad was fresh, and had shaved parmigiana-reggiano and a white anchovy giving that intently savory salty flavor. To offset the saltiness, we went with the Bufala, it had fresh basil, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, really light overall. Round 2 was pasta time, starting with the Carbonara. This is a top tier carbonara, a little heavier and creamier than most, but really is executed perfectly and comforting. The White Truffle risotto was flawless. Creamy, comforting as well, and the white truffles had notes of pepper and garlic, and that complimented the risotto very well. A new winter special that they have is the wild boar ragu. It's an off-menu item but you can still order it. It's tender, and does a nice job of being integrated with the pappardelle noodles. Now time for some protein, kicking things off with my personal favorite chicken dish in the city. It's got a crispy cheese shell on the outside, lemony, and comes with some sautéed spinach to offset the heavier flavors. The rack of lamb was impressive, and we loved the tenderness of it. Lastly, the salmon was soft and served with lemon and thyme oil on a bed of braised lentils, this dish was executed perfectly. For dessert, we had the tiramisu that was soft, perfect flavor of espresso, and creamy. The buttercake was slightly more dense, but still soft as well and my favorite. read more
