Stopped here while visiting Chicago. After sifting through Yelp, we found this place. Our friend,…read morewho is a local, mentioned that she'd been there once and it was pretty good. The first thing I noticed walking in was the ambiance. Nice decor with a city hotspot feel. We had a teen and tween with us and both found something on the menu. Most of us ordered bowls with sesame sauce which were delicious. We each ordered different meats with our bowls and no complaints. My son had a crispy chicken sandwich which he devoured and my daughter had a quesadilla which they prepared especially for her without any sauce. Everything was tasty. We had a problem with our order when my daughter found a small piece of plastic wrapper in her food. We told our waiter and he immediately informed management. The manager came over and offered a new plate but my daughter was fine having the current plate. So instead, she comped her meal and gave her a choice of dessert with a gigantic milk. Despite the minor glitch, this place deserves 5 stars for the way they handled this issue. We feel they went above and beyond to remedy the situation. If only all restaurant management were like this. If we are ever in Chicago again, we will be back.

No notes. The sandwich had candied bacon on it with this perfect sweet flavor, and it normally comes with honey Dijon--but I don't do Dijon, so I swapped it for this garlic sauce ‍ And when I say that garlic tanginess mixed with the sweet candied bacon... whew. Chef's kiss. Absolute perfection. My boyfriend got the steak wok bowl with corn, broccoli, brown rice, and some other veggies--and I definitely stole a few bites It was SO good. Like... flavorful, fresh, just everything. The whole vibe? Perfect for a lunch date. The ambiance was cute, relaxed, and just right And I loved that they serve room temperature water (because ice? not my thing ‍) But let's talk about the real star--our waiter Eli He was AMAZING. Super personable, funny, and just a whole vibe. He had the cutest red cat-eye nails and burgundy hair accents--like, style on point He told us he manages both the Gold Coast and River North locations, so I'm definitely hoping we run into him again. And when me and my boyfriend were holding hands at the end, he goes, "Aww this is so cute. I'm not jealous though" we all cracked up. Just made the experience even better. Listen... 5 stars is not enough. It's just not. If you've been thinking about going--THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Go. I promise you won't regret it

It is a must visit - if only all hotel restaurants were this good. We had a late dinner reservation on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was almost emptied out. So that made for a lovely, semi-private dining experience. Selecting a wine was dicey, as earlier that week flooding had damaged the cellar (!), but our server, Alex, was very helpful and worked with us to find something to my liking. We landed on a 2015 Cornas which was showing beautifully and matched perfectly with our meal. Alex did a fantastic job taking care of us during the wine reconnaissance and throughout the meal. Speaking of which, we started with the deviled eggs, which were amazing. An elegant balance of cream and salt from the caviar. For my entree, i had the venison. It was a seared filet on I believe a sweet potato puree, and it was rich and tender. Order it rare, if its on the menu. Kelly had the filet, also rare, and found it to be superior to most Chicago steak house filets. Our side was the divinely creamy Aligot mashed potatoes. Don't skip on these! For dessert, there was a decadent, gout-tempting chocolate mousse preparation. Served tableside, its all you think you can eat. I had a heaping serving, ate some, took the rest home. Kelly had the (also) Decadent Chocolate Cake, which too was superb. Cocktails were excellent, as is the bourbon selection. Service was impeccable. Our dinner was long and leisurely, and we look forward to returning.

The portion was generous, the bacon crisped up well, and the whole thing came together better than a standard club usually does. The fries were the soft, soggy kind rather than crunchy, but somehow addictive, I kept reaching for them. Service was fine, and the space is roomy with plenty of seating, easy to settle in and talk over a long brunch.

Unfortunately today too many things were amiss, but most of all the service. The host was rude overall, but unfortunately this was eclipsed by the insolence of our server, who made comments during our very first interaction which were shockingly rude and uncalled for. In fact, I don't think I've ever been spoken to so rudely at a in my life. From reading other reviews, it seems this is the norm for this particular server. To their credit, it appeared that the restaurant was understaffed in terms of servers. However, it's unacceptable to speak to customers that way. Finally, there was an issue with the food. I ordered a beef pot pie with potatoes on the side. The potatoes came very quickly, and were delicious. Unfortunately the rest of my food and my dining partners' food did not arrive until at least 10 minutes later. I can understand that mixups happen, but I was annoyed because I could see that the rest of our dishes were sitting under the heating lamp but no one delivered them to our table for about 10 minutes. In the meantime, 2 tables near us who had arrived significantly after us, had already received all of their food and started eating. When I received my beef and gravy pie, it was dried out (having ordered this the past 2 visits, I knew it wasn't right). Based on this recent experience, I don't think I'd return.

We saunter up to our chosen restaurant only to find a sign on the door that says, "closed for private event." Did I mention I was hangry? My husband suggests Jake Melnick's. It was within walking distance ... did I mention it was raining that night? And I was hangry? I was game for anything at that point. We arrived and waited probably four minutes for a table. A couple of the adults ordered a beer, the others ordered a Coke. We ordered a large pretzel and our mains. The pretzel was so good. All the meals were outstanding (a sliced brisket sandwich, some wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a burger). Service was great. It was a little loud when we first arrived as there was an intense Illinois State basketball game on but as soon as the game ended, it was much quieter. We really enjoyed our meal at Jake's!

We had just got our leftovers bagged up and was waiting for our to go cheesecake. We had all went to the bathroom and left out to go leftovers on the table while waiting on our togo cheesecake. When we came from the bathroom our bags and table was cleared. We had not finished our alcohol beverages. We were still sipping on our drinks. The waitress Mellisa V. apologized and said this was the first time this happened that someone cleared the table before we were ready. We did not even get the check yet. The waitress went to back to see if she could find our food. The problem I have with this is that the person that busted the table our change purse was still on thprobably put our stuff in with dirty dishes and other stuff. Melissa made my friend a new salad and said she found mine. I don't know if it was in the trash or what. Once it leaves the table and went in the buse tub it should not be given to the consumer.I called back that Sat. spoke with someone and she said she would send a gift card . I never heard anything.

We got there around 8am on 06/18/26 and the place was kind of empty. We stood for awhile waiting to be seated. Finally a lady said she would take us to a table but that they were all dirty. We wanted a window seat so we accepted it. It seemed fine after she cleaned it. It was just a strange way to bring us into the restaurant before the tables were cleaned. We could have stood by the door and waited some more. But the service and food were very good! Our server was Jose, who was excellent while checking on us several times to make sure everything was good. The vanilla latte that he recommended was delicious! I ordered the 3 Egg Ham 'n Cheese Omelet with mushrooms and my daughter had the Eggs Benedict. Both were cooked perfectly and seasoned correctly. Yummy!
