I needed a storage unit for a short period of time. I was able to rent a unit at this location on a month to month basis. Management was courteous and available to answer my questions. The floors are well lit and the security in the building is impressive. The location is easy to get to and there is ample parking. There are plenty of dollies available for you to unload and load your belongings. The building is climate controlled and kept at a comfortable temperature. There are maps on each floor to help you find your unit. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a storage unit that is clean and in a building that is well-managed in the Museum District. . read more

This place is great! I recently relocated to Proguard from another storage provider nearby, and I couldn't be happier. The staff are especially helpful. One of the managers, Mitch, even offered to help bandage my arm (see photo) when I got a pretty nasty cut while moving some stuff into my unit. The cut was pretty bad. A lot of blood. I think a lot of folks would have let me handle on my own, but he insisted on helping and was very nice about it. Now every time I see him he asks how my arm is doing (all healed now w/ a nice scar as a reminder to be more careful!). Connie is very nice and helpful too! Don't hesitate if you're looking for storage in the museum district or near the med center. This is the place!! I should probably mention that the cut on my arm was my own fault and had nothing to do with Proguard or it's facility. I cut myself on a metal shelf that I was moving into my unit. read more

I never thought I could be so happy with a storage unit facility. It is clean, safe (VERY STRICT security measures), easily accessible (close to the freeway), and the best property managers. They are kind, friendly, easy to chat with, and an overall joy to meet. These people seem like an entitled couple and I'm a disabled veteran trying to get by. I have recently moved out because Dianne demanded that pay her on the 31st, when rent is due on the 1st. There's always cold drinks in the lobby and any time I have needed anything, they are quick to help. Clean and secure units with exceptional staff! I am a student living on campus and used ProGuard to store some things over the summer. Getting the unit was easy and could be reserved online. When I went in to pick up the lock and keys, the owners were more than happy to answer any questions I had. Paying online was easy, they even sent reminder emails. Great idea for students, seeing as it is right in the middle of the UH/TSU/Rice area. If I need to store things in this area again, I will DEFINITELY be returning!!! read more

I had 3 different storage units at this location over a 5 year period & I can say this location & the staff are the best I've ever known. Before this I was at a Public Storage which was gross & discovered black MOLD in the interior unit that started creeping onto my stuff. That will never happen at ProGuard, Connie & Mitch run a tight ship keeping this location spotless. They also provide music, which helps when you're moving things around, as well as a refreshment area with coffee station & water. The units are climate controlled as well which is important during the humid Houston months. The AC, elevators & lighting always work & the security is great! This is by far the best storage unit I've ever used. All of the electrical components: AC, Elevators, Lighting, and security have never failed while using these units. Connie and Mitch are wonderful and friendly . Units are clean and spacious. And there's always a cart available for you to use at your leisure. This is the best storage experience I have ever had and I've moved around the country a lot. The management staff was A+A+A+, and the storage spaces were clean and secure. I always felt safe, and like I was dealing with fair and honest people. Connie and Mitch were great, and helped me find someone to load up my truck.
