I have had three units here in the past but they are expensive anyway so no loss. I wasn't rightfully contacted regarding this matter. I was sent certified mail that I had a lien on my account(which was not the first). When I contacted them to ask how much I needed to pay I made the payment and was told they'd removed the lien (as they have several times before). The total was for the past due balance (MAY) and the following month (JUNE). I made the payment May 30th. When I went to retrieve an item, my code wasn't working to access my unit. I'm confused, to my knowledge i'm current with my account. I walk in and was told by your employees Mary and Sarah, that i hadn't made a payment since April and that my whole entire life had been auctioned off due to non payment. When I have in my possession a receipt from May 30th, 2025, saying i paid the balance i was told by, Tom. This is all recorded, I called to make sure they received the payment to make sure my belongings would continue to be secured. Just be told my entire life was sold to the highest bidder. I want to refrain from escalating this matter, but will not hesitate to seek legal counsel if we cannot come to a resolution. I feel that i was wrongfully targeted, I was never contacted via cell or email. When they've contacted me before just for being a few days late, they couldn't have contacted me to let me know my things would be sold if they felt i didn't settle what i owed. Last letter i received is dated May 14th, and the last payment made was May 30th. To think my items where auctioned off when i allegedly owed less than $200 is baffling and seems like robbery. read more

Not to be confused with Immunity Shelf Storage, which is where they are keeping all the Corona vaccines and such. The pricing is okay despite being a very rich area and the location is perfect for people in the Heights or along Washington, but that's where the compliments end. The people running it have issues. Service issues and threats at the drop of a hat out of nowhere over misunderstandings. And shady stuff is well. Too much to go into, but the only reason it gets three is because it's a local business. I would never rent from here again. read more

I came into the store today as I have many times in the past seeking to rent a flat bed dolly. I walked in and promptly and warmly greeted the staff. Both individuals looked at me as if they had 1) perhaps never seen a human before and 2) a customer. As I moved towards the dolly, placed my hands on it, and again stated that I was seeking to rent it - the staff looked at me as if I was asking if they both wanted a free trip to the moon - mouth open staring at me. It is in your interest to return the unit just before your next billing date. Every single month since I got my uni, and I do mean, every single month, I get a message from this idiotic business, informing me that my charges bounced. However, Capital One, sends me a text message to let me know that the charge was declined and why. Reason: because information was entered incorrectly, please check your expiration date and zip code. So then I have to call and get them to re-charge my card, only after the argument of, it's not me it's you! This month, the idiots did it again and once I called, the argument begins again, only this month The Manager insists that it was NSF and not their issue , even though Capital One sent me the same message that they send me every time These Fools run my card! So now they insist that I have a late fee (rolls eyes) I hate stupid people. If there is a problem on Your En, every single month, logic dictates that the problem is on your end once again. Oh! And I'm getting charged a late fee this time. boohoo? Anyway, I'm moving my stuff to UHaul, I put my unit on automatic charge so that I don't have to deal with it every month, not to be aggravated every month because charging a Capital One credit card is too difficult! read more

I honestly never write bad reviews, but go anywhere else but here. The ladies that work there are consistently so rude and make you feel like an inconvenience to them if you need anything. They also charged me for an entire extra month because I was one day late moving out (I live out of town) and they refused to offer me any financial solution or even as little as an apology or sympathy. Just forced to pay an entire month that I will not even be using their unit. Worst experience from day one - couldn't move out quick enough. read more

They are doing everything possible to protect staff and customers from Covid, including keeping q-tips next to elevators so you don't have to touch the buttons. I called for pricing and to ask some general questions about their storage units and had the pleasure to speak with Patty. She answered a few questions with haste, and before I could ask if the unit was climate controlled, she hung up on me. I called their other location to see if I could speak to someone who would be willing to help, and after explaining my first experience with Patty, the other location proceeded to tell me to excuse the behavior as "Covid times are difficult" and "She probably had customers in front of her." Neither of which validates treating anyone that way. Nor would I conclude that as decent customer service to a prospective customer. This company's values were proven to be poor by two different employees at two different locations. Save yourself the trouble and seek a storage unit somewhere else that wants your business. read more

I ordered a u-haul rental at this location but they called me to tell me that it was moved because they didn't have the truck in the size I wanted in time. He was nice enough to give me a direct number to find the new location of my reservation- so I could get the size truck I needed at the same exact time. I've experienced other situations where things could've turned ugly and way more stressful that it should've been but they handled it really well. I had rented a storage unit with them for the last 2 years. Always paid on time, no issues. They raised my rent after 6 months. When I asked why, they told me it was because their taxes had gone up. I still decided to stay. Upon moving out this weekend, I had some stuff I did not need. There is a dumpster on site with no signs posted that it is not for customer use. In fact, the dumpster was filled with stuff from other tenants, leading me to believe that's what it was for. The owner, an older lady, came out and was instantly aggressive towards me. I had apologized and told them it was simply a misunderstanding as there were no signs posted. Then she told me I had better "start moving out!" as she sped off. There are plenty of other storage places in the city that will treat you with more respect. If you like being treated like garbage and belittled by the staff there, then this place is for you. read more

Absolutely the worst bookkeeping service ever designed. I assume relatives are doing the bookkeeping because no serious business would keep a bookkeeper that gets the payments wrong month after month going on years. I have gone over and over with this group that the payments are being made on time. They again and again charge late fees where there has not been a late payment. They have even threatened to sell my articles in storage all within a 15 day period and the payment having already been made. If they are so adamant about the date of the payment, they should look at the payments online to see that the payments are made by or before the 5th. Yet, their bookkeeping group continues to charge late fees. Since I can only call the facility where I have a unit, they do not put their phone numbers on their letters, they do not list the bookkeeping division, they will not give the contact information for the bookkeeping to get this corrected. I send them an e-mail of the payments and copy all their known offices, they still get the payment dates wrong and charge late fees. I use to pay the late fee thinking that I may have missed the payment by a few hours until I started tracking their activities. This happens again and again and again - I do mean for years. Watch your bills with them closely. read more

Location: Great location for in town. Convenient, up to date and kept very clean. Very safe as it is gated security with your own personal passcode. Price: When it comes to storage the only thing that really concerns you is location and price. I've already said good things about the location, however, the price really is what makes this place a bit too high for my taste. Very pricey when it comes to storage facilities. Their basic rate is probably slightly less than $200 for a storage room per month. However, if you are a new tenant you can get 50% off. If you are an existing tenant, they only give you 2 months free on a 12 month lease. I think the pricing point is dead on if they give you the 50% off, but anything more than that is over priced. Overall, the facilities are quality indoor facility in the inner loop directly off of washington. If money isn't a concern store here. If you are storing for a short period of time, store here because you can get a decent deal for good quality. If you need a storage facility for a prolonged period of time, may want to look at other places for better prices. read more

I just left Community Self Storage on Washington Ave and I am truly amazed at how good I feel. Cynthia Lewis is a God send, plain and simple. She took the time to not just explain all my options, but we toured the facility to view the size and determine it's actual location. We discussed their great special (one month free), insurance needs, boxes, locks among other things, and I am thankful to have had her assistance. It's this kind of attentiveness we're missing in customer service. I now have a great storage unit, in a great location and it's one less thing to worry about during this chaotic time. After our other storage unit got broken into at West Oaks U-Haul, we had to make a move so we searched to the most convenient place and came across Community Storage on Washington Avenue. The price was slightly higher but the the staff, location and the quality of the grounds more than made up for the price. They offer one month free so after the first payment the bill is not due for two months. The best part is that they offer to let you use a rental truck for free to move in! Factoring in what it would have cost to use a rental truck, this benefit more than paid for the savings at another storage place. Love this place! read more

I recently found myself in need of a Uhaul and this was an option. The one thing that I like from the start is that I could park my car there while using their truck, which isn't an option at a lot of places. The process was mainly online, but it was very easy. The staff was fantastic and there was virtually no wait. I was in and out quickly, you can also drop off the truck after hours with a key drop. They will email you receipt - perfect. I made a reservation earlier this week for a 10ft Uhaul truck at this location. I received an email today (the day before my trip) that they reserved me a 15ft truck at the Hobby Airport location... I called to ask why I didn't have a truck on Washington and they said they don't guarantee Uhaul reservations and that the closest truck available was at Hobby... Not at all close!!! I called their call center to remedy the situation and they said they could give me a truck in Katy... Again, not at all close!!! Do yourself a favor and skip this disorganized company. I rented a unit at Community Self Storage for about 5 years. I rented space in their "basement" and was told by the owner that the price would never increase because my unit was in the "basement". In addition, they have a truck that they say you can "use" almost any time as long as it is available. Needless to say, none of this was true, they went up on their price EVERY year, in 5 years, the price was nearly double, and they no longer allow their tenants to "use" their truck unless you pay a fee. Service started out good, but went downhill fast. I would not recommend this business. read more
