It went to 300 dollars a month for about a year with no other options given. We used a tiny space of the unit but that didn't matter to them. They didn't negotiate any other options, toys remained in the until maybe worth 300 when we were charged 300 for a year month after month. I would never give them business or recommend business again. What started out as a compassionate business quickly gave us the cold shoulder. Just sad.

I had my things in my first unit for about 6 months, and then I rented a second unit for my…read morefurniture for about 3 months. Some things I was not happy with were that the "climate control" was on the warm side. When I got my furniture out some of the off-white pieces had darkened and discolored, I assume from the heat and humidity. Also, some items with glue or adhesive were damaged. I don't know what temperature the building is supposed to be kept at, but it wasn't cool enough. When I rented my first unit there was a trash can in the lobby area where the elevator is, but eventually that disappeared. The dumpster is also inaccessible to customers. There is a restroom by one of the elevators, but every time I tried to use it, it was locked. If vagrants getting in the building and using the restroom is a problem, then why not require the doors to be opened by codes all the time, not just at night, or put a key code on the restroom door? That way paying customers are not inconvenienced too. I was driving about an hour to get to the storage business, so a restroom would have been very helpful after a long drive. Many times when I came to put something in or get something out of storage during the week, the same car was parked right in front of the doors to the elevator. I never saw anyone getting in or out of the car while I was there, so I can only assume it was an employee's car. There is not a shortage of parking, so why park in a spot that is going to cause an inconvenience to customers? If I ever need to rent a storage unit again I'm not so sure that I will go with Big Tex again. They are pricey for what you get.

My rate was supposed to be discounted, but I was told it wasn't and had to get it straightened out with someone higher up. The woman at the front desk is nasty nasty and one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. We asked to use the bathroom after driving 4 hours in and she acted as if we were a nuisance. I have interacted with her now 8 times at least over a 3 year period. She is vile. I was also not aware of the 10 day notice for move out and that I would be charged for a whole month moving out on the 3rd day of the month otherwise I would have moved out on the first. I wouldn't use them again. I prefer kind people who provide a clear understanding of the information needed without the attitude. I feel ripped off. Take your business elsewhere.

We had to unfortunately discover all our belongings in our storage unit were covered in rat poop and destroyed! When we told the Property Manager, Charlene, she said we are aware of that, sorry, your neighbors had food in their storage unit. She was FULLY aware of this and GAVE ZERO NOTICE, we had to come in to discover the rat infestation. This storage facility is disgusting and terribly run, the staff is not trained correctly and open 1 hour late everyday to "log in to their computers." AVOID THIS STORAGE UNIT AT ALL COSTS, you will lose all your belongings to rat poop and your money because we paid for the PREMIUM INSURANCE every month for over a year and all they did was say sorry we were aware of the rats in your unit and did not tell you.
