This place is a mold trap!!! I rent a climate controlled unit. I moved in May 31st, and a lot of my things are damaged and covered in mold. The management told me themselves, after I made 3 separate phone calls and filed 2 complaints with corporate, that they see this all the time and there's nothing they can do about it. In fact, I was the second person this month in my building to file a mold complaint. Something they never bothered to mention to their other customers. I might have been able to take preventive measures if I had known. The filter on the AC unit is grimy and covered in mold, so I can't help but feel that the issue is pure negligence. Hopefully this review saves you from this mess. I'm now having to file an insurance claim to replace my things while trying to find a new place to store what's left. read more

Toured the property with Shawnna, the on-site manager, it was very well kept and clean. They have security cameras at all entrances/ exits. They have pull-up and inside storage. They also have storage for boats, cars and RVs. Cameras are monitored at all times. She offers great customer service, she's very nice. And she knows her business. Highly recommend this location!! Awful customer service. I was there with a Uhaul that needed to be returned and was unable to get into my unit. The door had a sign on it saying that they would return at 3:30 pm - it was 4:30 pm and no sign of anyone. I called the 800 # and was connected to the most unhelpful person who connected me to a "sister property". The agent at the other property was the only person I was in touch with at all that was helpful. She tracked down her district manager, who tracked down the district manager for the property I was renting from, who was finally able to track down the person working at my property. She finally shows up and asks me to "calm down" before I even said a word to her because she knew I was frustrated from her calls with the other employees. The incompetence and audacity was unreal. The bottom line is it took us about 2.5 hours to put 2 things into storage and I had to pay a late fee on the Uhaul. I will not rent from PS again, and certainly not from this location. read more

I've rented out public Storage twice on the same property. First time I was downstairs with a/c unit and the outside doors keypad didn't work. I reported it, and it never got fixed. Second time, I'm on the 2nd floor with a/c and have had no problems. Oh, there are only 2 carts in the whole compound because the rest had been stolen. So, we had to walk to the front and trade in ID to use a cart. That was a hassle. Overall it was average. read more

The elevator did not work and the stair door was shut and locked so we had to go back during the day when someone was there to open the door so we could use the stairs. When we inquired about elevator getting fixed, we were told we could use the stairs to go up and ride the elevator down which is fine when you have someone with you, but not when you are alone. When I asked to speak with someone about the elevator not working the entire month we had the unit, I was told everyone already knows and it doesn't matter because you have stair access. I called customer service and was assured they do care and given the regional manager's contact info. I called him and left several messages over the course of a few weeks and never heard back. When I called customer service again to state he had not called me back, they told me I was only an authorized user and they could only speak with my husband and that is why he didn't call me back and it isn't his responsibility to inform me of that information. I said I was supposed to be on the contract too and they informed me only one person can be on the contract. You pay for a headache when you rent from them. Also, the "security" gate was held open more than half of the times we entered the facility. Nothing was missing from our unit, but it didn't offer a feeling of security. read more

I have stored my camper trailer at this location 18106 Northwest Frwy on 290 for the last couple of months. It is clean and paved but their security is awful. I was told they do not have cameras that would have helped catch this thief. Today I was told thieves have been breaking into and stealing other people's property and the Public Storage isn't doing anything to help stop these crimes. My 25ft long camper trailer was stolen from this premises. Valued at over $12,500. When I used the trailer in the past, nobody from public storage called to check that I had the trailer, as this was normal policy. So for 20+ days my trailer on the entire lot was missing and nobody noticed a thing. When I showed up to get the trailer (3 days before Christmas) the trailer was missing...The sales staff that day acted as if this was no big deal, they mentioned that it's happened so many times.. So in conclusion, If you don't already know, here are some things you should know about Public Storage's Policy and specific Jersey Village Location: 1.) Public Storage is NOT responsible in any way shape or form if your property if it's stolen or damaged on their property. 2.) Public Storage will NOT let you watch or give you a copy of the video of your property getting stolen. 3.) The responding Police said they are at the facility several times a day patrolling because this is a known hot spot! They offered to facilitate the property with surveillance cameras other than just having one camera at the entrance only (free of charge) but Public Storage denied help from Jersey village police department. 4.) If they can take my 25ft long camping trailer with a $100+ dollar hitch lock without anybody seeing a thing, nothing on this lot is safe. This has to be an inside job for it to continue happening. In the end, it doesn't matter if the staff is nice because they don't take care of your property. This property deserves no stars! read more

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. Whatever you do, do NOT entrust your valuables to this shady company. Their payment system is broken and I continously am told my bill has been paid when it hasn't then they try, TRY, to add a late fee. I keep having to go up the chain and it is an absolute nightmare. The management at this property are always "missing in action", so you better hope you don't need to talk to them or report anything. I have had a climate controlled unit in this facility for over a year. Just in the past week, I have been by the facility twice, once on a Thursday at 11:00 AM and then Saturday at 1:00 PM. Both times there was no one in the office and no sign saying when they would be back and they were nowhere on the property - believe me, I looked !! I also called all their office numbers and got no answer and no return call to my multiple voicemail messages. I then called national customer service and they tried reaching the location and then the next two levels up of district and regional managers, and even they could get no one on the phone. My unit currently has no power and I have had trouble with no AC many times over the past year. I could tolerate the poor maintenance better if the site management would actually show up and be responsive to customer needs. I would never recommend renting a storage unit from this facility and I have used three different Public Storage facilities in the past ten years. This one is the worst for office management and customer service. They all seem to hate their jobs and take it out on the customers. Beware. Save yourself some major aggravation and Go somewhere else. read more

We have just rented from this location. The staff has been great, I reserved a 12/35 for my RV. The site is covered and great rate.. They did not have another site for my Ford F350 and Lance Truck Camper when I rented the RV site.. But two weeks later one came up and we now have two sites.. I will do another review in 6 months. One thing they could do to make the experience better is add Security cameras to the parking storage areas.. read more

My wife and I spent the entire day viewing storages in hopes to find a safe, economical,clean,and customer service oriented facility. It was the end of the day and all had failed to deliver us a glimmer of hope. They were either overpriced for nothing or underpriced for something. Upon navigating to a nearby Sam's Club we noticed a Public Storage coming up but we knew they were closing and besides we'd been to some public storages earlier and they did not make us feel comfortable to leave our belongings in their hands. We slowed down because of how clean the property looked and whipped in just before passing the driveway. We got out to do a price comparison and were "SWEPT OFF OF OUR FEET" by a young lady named "KATINA". Let me give you an example of Great Customer Service...THEY WERE CLOSED when she gave us our tour(without rushing or speed walking)...THEY WERE CLOSED when she sat us down to tell us all about their pricing (without pressuring to purchase)...THEY WERE CLOSED...when we said we'll take it... and yes THEY WERE CLOSED when she refused to have us drive all the way back tomorrow to complete the paperwork for our new storage...AND...She Did It All With A Smile !!!
