My key and lock weren't working on the cylinder lock Extra Space sold me upon move in. I went to the office and was told "Someone must have changed your lock" and that they'd need to drill the lock and replace it. They said it would take a few hours so we left and returned a few hours later. We picked up the new key at the office and proceeded to my unit. Upon opening the door we discovered my belongings had totally been ransacked and half my belongings were missing. Total estimated loss initially is just under $10k. The office attendant who had helped me throughout the day didn't seem to give a shit because I had not purchased their insurance program at move-in. I had a Harris County Sheriff Department Officer come out to do the report and he 100% agreed this is an inside job. Thieves don't replace broken locks on their way out! Fuck this place.
