What I loved was that their price was in the middle of all the ones that I called, but most importantly came with twice as many workers & they did not charge for packing up the boxes I did not get to! As of February 2026, H-town movers provided 4 movers for $155/hr , with a $120 one time fee that covered the truck & travel. That is all i was charged! (They have a minimum of 2 hrs, but anything after that, they only charge at 15 minute intervals). I provided the boxes, tape, and paper-- you can get their packaging packet, but I found all of my stuff cheaper & they used the kitchen towels, wash rags etc that i left out for them also! However, they do provide unlimited plastic wrap & moving blankets to wrap up all furniture. They were very careful packing up all my fragile items (large dresser mirrors, China plates, mugs etc). I was very relieved with their detail to that . They were extremely efficient (did not purposely "dilly dally" to rack up hours) and had a great attitude the entire time! I could hear them singing or telling jokes to each other, which helped relieve a little bit of my stress by creating such a pleasant atmosphere. They were also extremely kind with our toddler running around. I did not have to micromanage them at all. The only thing I did have to remind now and then was if a certain section was going in storage or to our new moving location. They did not charge for making 2 stops. At the first stop, they would ask where we wanted the box or furniture item, and they happily brought it to whichever location. They do not charge for stairs, which is nice. They were also extremely efficient in packing up the storage unit where we had a ton of space left over! i would highly recommend this company & their movers and I would definitely use them in the future! Having more hands on board at a very reasonable price helped get everything done in one day and in a shorter time span than I had anticipated!

I had reservations and should have taken the return and left but decided to save a trip and let them mail it instead. I went to pay with my debit card and she said since I didn't have cash to just leave and bring her some next time. She never offered me a receipt and I didn't think to ask for one. To keep in good faith I returned 2 hours later with cash. She charged me $2.39 to print a single page; I told her to keep the change. She didn't offer a receipt and told me the package had already been picked up. Days later and USPS has no record of the package. I went back in to ask about it and she chastised me for not having a receipt. She checked her records and she had not scanned the package so there is no record or proof it went out. No resolution.

Which was odd because the apartment was paying $375 for the move. According to the form I was provided, it was $125 per hour, $75 trip fee and $50 compliance fee. For two hours of work, that's $250, plus $75, equals $325, plus $50, equals $375. So I asked how I owed $375? Alexis said the apartment is only paying $375, you owe the balance of $125 and he showed me his phone again. So I told him I need to talk to someone because the math does not add up. He called his supervisor Victor and put him on speaker, after going through the basic math with Victor, he seemed confused, said he was going to check what time I signed the movers in, which was 10:27am and then asked the current time 12:30pm. Then he says oh yeah, I guess you're right and we need to update things on our end. You don't owe anything. Thank you and have a good day. At this point, lead guy in front of me is pissed and storms out. He and his movers left their trash everywhere. At the old apt, at the new apt. I had given them bottles of water which they the the empty ones in the grass. Real unprofessional behavior and all because I refused to pay $125 I didn't owe them. Ridiculous. He set a date and time but never showed. I got a call and he asked if I could video the contents of the house and he did this often. I sent the video and he said it should be no problem to accomplish in 8 hours. I should have canceled at this point but I was close to the move date. He called the morning of the move and said he would be late due to traffic. He was supposed to be there at 9 but showed up at 10. He didn't have enough boxes and had to get more. I repeatedly reminded him that items were left in drawers and other rooms that needed to be packed. One of his packers broke a water shut off valve on the refrigerator wall and water went all over the kitchen floor. He helped clean it up but it delayed the move while I went to buy parts to cap the line. The move took 12 hours and nothing was unpacked. They assembled a bed, dropped items, and damaged pictures on my wall because they underestimated distances. After the move we discussed billing and he knocked off 2 hours for the price. He denied receiving pictures and videos but when he pulled out his phone everything was there showing I provided what was requested. I wasn't satisfied because his lack of preparation is what extended the time along with him taking non tolls during high traffic hours. He was very immature, over confident, and took no accountability. I am very understanding of mistakes, but he is very inexperienced and is driven by money versus being prepared to meet expectations. I believe he will say whatever it takes to be hired just to make money. I found him originally on thumbtack and after I hired him his profile disappeared. Moving from a 3700 sqft home, fully furnished to almost half the size took 15 hours! Thumbtack profile said $79/hr. I am very thorough, this was a big move & had to logistically & strategically plan every detail. I sent SEVERAL pics & discussed them all because he said he would then be able to give me a good estimate, which he never did, so the night before the "move" I texted him stating how we hadn't discussed pricing because originally the "move" was going have to take place over 2 days. I told him I was able to get the entire kitchen packed, linen closest, bedroom clothes in drawers, sent more pics & he said he could do it in one day. He gave me packing supplies estimate! At then end, he tried to charge me $2,700 for 15 hours & said "moving" is separate, which by the way, they didn't unpack 1 thing. They unloaded the truck, left so much stuff on my old home, which I sold & told him the new owners were moving in the very next day. Thankfully I had cleaners there, inconvenienced because it took them 8 hours to pack & still not get it all & I had 50 bins, bags, etc packed up already, called me & said I heard him talking & I want to send you some pics of what he said is left. I told them several times can we just get the tv's off? I was so upset. I told him I am having back surgery this month & can't do too much, now I have more than ever to do.
