But Not knowing the time needed for repairs I needed an accessible and safe space. Especially because repair supplies were non existent in the Houston area. I went to see Pam &Tom Knight at the Stuebner airline Self Storage area. Everyone was professional clearly understood and helpful. Not sure who the new owners are but the woman that runs this facility needs lessons in customer service. I have had a few issues with her but the most recent was Feb 2024. I had fraud on my bank account and my bank froze my account. They reopened a new account and wrote a letter to my creditors so that I would not be held accountable for late fees and such. I called A1 mini storage to advise of my issue and the gentleman that I spoke with advised to send a check when I got my new ones in and to send the letter as well. Which is what I did. The woman at the facility called me and asked about the payment and I advised that I had just sent it in along with the letter. I advised what the gentleman had said, she started raising her voice and advised this was not her problem, that I needed to pay the $25 late fee. I told her that in all my years I had never experienced the lack of customer service that I have from her. She just started yelling. I really think she has a mental problem because I didn't see a reason for her to carry on the way she was. She was screaming at me and I couldn't say a word so I hung up on her. The times before I just assumed she was having a bad day but this is not an excuse. Needless to say I paid the late fee and am NO longer a customer. I will never advise for anyone to rent from these folks and I hope that many more will go elsewhere. Too many rental facilities in the same area to be treated this way. I paid 20-30K to this facility over the years and she acted this way over $25. Good Riddance to A1 Mini Storage.

They are very quick to help you when needed. The site stays clean. I signed up during a one month free promotion and opted to discount my monthly payments instead of taking the first month free- this is definitely the way to go if you're storing long term as the price does raise just a little over a certain period of time. So if you choose this option it'll just go up to about the regular price instead of starting there and going higher. I've only ever had issues getting into the gate once due to a system error while the office was closed but a quick call to the kind reps on the 800 number got me the temporary access code needed to get in while they corrected it. The units are very secure and temp controlled. No pest issues or funky smells. No issues of break ins. The manager is the most wonderful woman you will meet and is very willing to work with you as much as she can if your payment is going to be late. I tend to be on the forgetful side so thankfully they give you a call to remind you before you occur any late fees and there's a nice grace period. 10/10 would recommend this storage place to anyone looking to tuck their things away for a little or long time.

I reserved a unit from Cubesmart and they called me within 5 minutes of the reservation to discuss my needs. The manager, Mitch, is very friendly, knows the property and will have you in your rental unit in 15 minutes. I highly recommend CubeSmart for it's location, cleanliness and no hassle policies. One note - you will have to purchase rental insurance that is at least $12 a month for $2000 worth of coverage with a $100 deductible. They will waive the insurance if you can provide proof of your own prior to renting. So just add $12 to their rental quote and you are good to go!
