We had made reservations at Palenque for my niece's bday brunch. But we're very disappointed that they didn't accommodate us inside for seating and wanted us to sit outside in the hot sun. So we canceled and they recommended proabition. Thank goodness we were able to make reservations there last minute. What Prohibition is running is less a restaurant experience and more a bait and switch, dressed up as an event. My girlfriend and I attended their themed party two weekends ago -- in full costume -- because the flyer explicitly promised a "$500 prize" for the best costume. We spent time, money, and effort showing up for what we thought was a well-organized event. Instead, we walked into confusion and misdirection. No one on staff even seemed to know a contest existed until a server escalated the question to someone named Melissa, who eventually confirmed I'd won. She took my information and promised to follow up the next day about the prize. That was the start of two full weeks of evasive behavior, unanswered messages, changing pickup details, and one absurd excuse after another. Each time I tried to finalize details, I was met with a new story -- including one employee saying the contact person "no longer works here." When I finally called out the inconsistency, Melissa became defensive and unprofessional. I then reached out to the supposed owner, Danny, expecting a level of accountability. Instead, he distanced himself entirely -- claiming he's not really involved in the operations of the business he publicly lists as his own on LinkedIn, and that he was "traveling abroad" and couldn't be bothered to deal with the issue. His solution? He directed me back to the very person whose disrespectful behavior had prompted me to reach out in the first place. Let's call this what it is: false advertising to get people in the door, followed by an utter lack of accountability when confronted. The "contest" was clearly nothing more than a marketing ploy to lure paying guests with no real intent to deliver on the promise. Any business that promotes events, collects contact information, and then dodges their own commitments operates in bad faith. And any owner who refuses to take ownership of that behavior shows you exactly what kind of culture he's running. We had, not exactly high hopes, but we were...hopeful. The food was mediocre. The brussel sprouts had good flavor but the excess oil overwhelmed any possibilities. The sliders, what can I say about the sliders except particle board would have been more appetizing. I understand some like their red meat well done but there's a difference between well done and overcooked to the extent the patty is devoid of moisture. Literally the worst hamburger patty I ever encountered and the devoid of seasoning only made it worst. Oh, and if you ask for bottled water be prepared to pay for the house bottled water is nothing more than FAUCET water in a bottle with their label on it. Smh The entire experience was tragic. Went here around 3pm on a Saturday with my family and although they played really loud clubbing music, and the other patrons were equally loud.... the food was great and service was good. We ordered the Sliders and Brussels sprouts for appetizers, which were very flavorful. We also got the Filet mignon, steak frites, salmon, and sea bass, which were all fantastic. We finished it up with the Butter Cake (heavenly) and the chocolate cake (very rich but delicious). Cocktails were perfect. Would go here again. read more

We had the most amazing time at the restaurant bc of the food and our sever. Our server was amazing! She was sweet and very attentive. There were 3 of us and we spent $400 but it was because we literally ordered everything on the menu and had drinks and shots. Food was delicious! We ordered a Nashville chicken sandwich what a travesty to both Nashville and Korea (it had"Korean slaw' on it which was ok but hardly any on it). Hostess was extremely rude. Tried to do a walk in today and she tried to make me feel dumb by telling me "yeah we aren't doing walk ins today. It's VALENTINES DAY." Oh wow. Thanks, had no clue. It's 12:30 in the afternoon. How dumb of me. This is the 3rd time I've attempted to come to this restaurant over the last year and each time have had the rudest interactions with employees, including one time after getting sat waiting 15 min for a server before finally walking out. The food was above average. Our waiter ruined the entire night. First of all, he was snail slow to deliver our drinks order. When the drinks finally arrived two had been forgotten. A separate wait staff person delivered these rather than our waiter when they stopped by our table and asked if we needed anything. At the end of the night he promised us our bill and we saw him take orders from three more tables before us and bus two more tables before finally giving us our bill. Negative one star. read more

Ambiance was perfect for our gathering! Came here to enjoy some early cocktails and appetizers before our annual holiday dinner! We sat outside and the weather was great! We ordered champagne, some beer and wine! The food was excellent with the right portion sizes and great flavor! It got our pallets going! Our service was good. We never felt alone, but got enough space that we weren't being hovered over while we enjoyed our time! We had a variety of ways and we loved them all! I am kind of bummed for this review. I have been to this restaurant 3 times - each time I have had a "underwhelming" experience other than our very first time visiting over 8 years ago. I would say this times it's like a 2.5 stars.... The food is "okay" however it came to us cold. The servers are doing their best I think, but it is busy at holiday time and took quite a bit to get someone to bring us anything. For the price of dinner for two people - one would expect superb service and food. However, it was just not worth over $100. I don't think I will be returning. read more

Our server seemed very confident at first, but once we started asking questions, her knowledge of the whiskeys you actually carried lacked. My wife's old fashioned had toooo much luxardo juice in it that it looked like watered down cranberry juice; it's a shame since we came specifically for the "amazing old fashioned" the reviews boasted about. I ordered a Jameson with a coke back... I got a coke on the rocks, ZERO Jameson. The spinach dip was okay, I had just a couple bites. Everyone else's food was decent. I myself ordered the BBQ burger, medium rare. I got well done with a small scantly ring of BBQ sauce, so I asked for some on the side, and I was charged $3 for it. So, for the pups, we ordered the one regular sized unseasoned beef patty to give the pups while we "enjoyed" dinner. They came 15 mins after we got our dinner and I even had to go get up and ask for them. The server said, "oh the kitchen made small ones, so I sent them back for bigger ones". But I ordered just one regular patty just to keep them. Occupied. She still pegged me with the up charge x2. I didn't fuss, since I was celebrating my daughter's baby announcement, and I was only in town for the night. Did I mention, after we got our apps our server said, "we're super busy so the kitchen is running entrees slowly, so it will be like 20 mins." Then walked away, we hadn't even ordered our entrees YET! She wasn't back for another 15 mins!!! When she brought us extra bread, she dumped in from one plate on to the plate with the other apps... why not just set the plate down. The whole night was one big "Are you serious!" Disappointed. The only thing enjoyable sadly was their location. Corner spot, great lighting and plenty of people watching while you wait the 20+ minutes to order food. Four of us went on Valentines Day. We had a prefix menu. Someone in our party had allergies and specifically told the waitress about them. The first course they brought a salad with nuts, which is an allergen. The service was slow. To the point we almost missed our event, even after telling the waitress we needed to leave by a certain time. We were only a party of 4, but they still but a 20% gratuity on the bill and a service fee. The service was not good. This is a little place down the road from the Mission Inn. We went here for breakfast to get away from the expensive brunch crown at the Mission Inn. I had the tees leches French toast which was very good. My wife had the chorizo Benedict which she enjoyed. The chorizo is excellent. They have a full bar, but the cocktails are a bit pricey. The unusual thing about this place was that it was like having breakfast in a nightclub, inclusive of a DJ, thumping loud music and colorful stage lighting. We found that party of the experience a bit off putting, but maybe they are targeting a different demographic than we are. All in all, give it a try and order the French toast. read more

Had dinner with the family after visiting the Mission Inn Festival of Lights. We ordered a wedge salad, spinach dip and truffle fries as starters. The spinach dip came out first, but the other two items seem to be forgotten. We eventually asked our server about the other two items after a long wait and he said "it's coming." The salad and truffle fries arrived 2 mins before our meals. Not sure why the timing was off. The spinach dip was a family favorite. Dinner was good. I had the Pappadelle Ragu and my husband had the halibut. The ragu was good but could use a little bit more flavor. My sister in law and niece loved the risotto. All in all, the place is a nice lounge and great place for cocktails. We enjoyed the drinks. The lounge was nicely decorated for Christmas too! read more

First and foremost, I was charged for a birthday cake and a birthday service fee that I did not receive. (receipt in pictures) It was not my birthday! However, two other tables did celebrate birthdays, and I guess they charged us on accident, OR beware onlookers you will be charged too. It took so long to get anyone to come back for the check I just ended up paying it without any discussion because I was late for my next event. I want to like this place but slow service and waitstaff slaughters the stars of their review. I have visited ProAbition over many years and the food has always delivered flavor and satisfaction. Drinks are basic & overpriced but you compromise for the location. In addition, I have watched as the decor has gone from chic to overthinking it. Stayed at the Marriott down the street. We were hungry and ventured down here. The place has a dark theme, it looks like it turns up during the weekend. Our hostess sat us quickly inside. I ordered a regular burger and Cosmo. They were out of vodka and couldn't make it so I ordered something else. The bartenders tried to make it anyway, so I ended up with two drinks instead of one. The bartender was friendly, the restaurant was very pretty and chic. I ordered the sliders that were ok, and the wedge salad was very good! We also ordered the truffle fries, they had great garlic flavor but unfortunately they were very greasy. My friend had the wings and said they were amazing. Overall we had a good experience and this was my first time here. I would definitely come back . Unfortunately the restrooms were gross. Came here for an anniversary, called ahead of time bc we couldn't do 8:30 reservation but the person who answered the phone said we can do walk in at 9. We get here at 9 and the host tells us they close at 9. We told them that we called before hand and he mentions they don't have a phone in the building but then insisted to accommodate us even after he said the kitchen was closed.
