Thieves. I am beyond disgusted with these movers. For starters, they were two hours late. Sasha was very responsive and attentive on updating me of the movers arrival. When they arrived, they seemed professional. However an hour into it, an off duty employee named Marvin, who happened to live in the same complex came on scene and said hello. I thought his demeanor was odd to begin with. The lead mover was mainly on the opposite side of the truck talking with the guy. He told me to go upstairs and do a walkthrough. They were almost done with packing up. Prior to going inside and checking I saw Marvin pull up in his white SUV. Again odd an off duty mover came over. When I came down he was gone. What was a 32 min drive took over an hour. They left at 1:55pm while I left at 2:10pm. I arrived 2:40, they arrived at 3:23pm. Contacted Sasha, she was sweet to inform me they probably stopped for lunch. The lead gave us the bill, which was 500 over the estimate, due to the double time of the drive. It took 2.5 hours to load, it should have been 2.5-3 hours to unload. We paid for four hours in the estimate. He took 45 minute off, unsure if it was due to me complaining about their 1:28 min commute to a place 32 mi and 35 min drive. Now that I'm going through my items. My 200 dollar swamp cooler is missing (just the tower portion, the base and remote were packed in a box I still have) I Submitted a complaint to the business. They got back in a timely manner. You're supposed to put trust in a company who is supposed to vet their movers and ensure they are operating with integrity. Never again. read more

I hired them to pack and move me. When they showed up, the lead guy was unaware they were supposed to pack me up, so brought NO packing material with them. He had to go back to the warehouse to get packing supplies. It was def. an error on their part, as one of the other guys on the moving crew was like "yeah dude, its a pack and move". Yet somehow packing materials never made it on the truck. So on MY DIME he had to go get packing supplies. Secondly, they didn't bring enough small boxes, or moving blankets. Lastly, the guys weren't great at reading labels. For example, I had a whole pile of stuff labeled "stay" or "leave" that was suppose to stay in the old house. Guess what got brought to the new house. Lastly, they removed a door to fit furniture through it. I asked them to be sure to put it back on the hinge. They left w/o telling me, and didn't put it back. I had to call them and be like "come put the door back on for me". Not a great experience. I move every few years, and this crew wasn't the best. Only one item was broken (that I've discovered so far) and they put a pretty big gash in one door frame. They also left their trash (drink cans) in my garage. They also forgot a dolly at my house and have to come back and get it. read more

Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Long story below, but worth it to see what the experience is and hear what it might be for yourself. Here's my nightmare of being moved with this sham of a company. First, in order to inquire about costs about a month before we moved, I called Pro Movers to see what an estimate cost of my 2bed Apartment move would be. I clearly spoke of each item that would be needing a move, and I confirmed this via their website portal. The guy on the phone said it would be a simple move, likely not requiring more than 2 guys but that was "my call." He said it would likely take between 3 and 5 hours at 150 an hour, but there is a 10 dollar discount to do it with cash. Seemed reasonable, so I booked. The guys show up 20 minutes late but still "start" the clock at the original agreed upon time. So I got to pay for them being late. They start slowly gathering my belongings after I told them what needed to be moved and marking each piece to make it easy. One of the guys when to the bathroom in my apartment at least 3 times for 15 minutes each time while the other guy loaded boxes. I ended up moving most of my stuff that I had listed and disassembling my furniture because I noticed it was taking forever. They loaded my stuff and started driving over after 6. Hours. I call pro movers and the very rude customer service representative basically said "tough ****, you're responsible for however long they take." wonderful. What was supposed to be 5 hours max ended up being 9.5 hours and costing nearly double what I budgeted for. Now, here is how this move went from costing me several hundred to several thousand dollars. Three major pieces of furniture were broken during the move- A dresser's foot was broken off as they were carrying upstairs (they tried to cover it up but I saw them do it), a support bar in the center of my entertainment center broke off and now the whole thing bows in the middle, and my couch was dropped and a piece of wood broke inside of it. I called the company and inquired about the insurance as that was a selling point the guy originally gave me over the phone. Turns out, they do the bare minimum, which is 60cents per POUND of merchandise damaged- you have to fill out a form and send it via certified mail to their address, and they can contest it. So even if I went through the hassle of submitting the claim, I would be able to recoup like 80 bucks at most. This includes the box that mysteriously has gone missing- it was with all other boxes that they moved and labeled "office electronics." that was the ONLY box not delivered by these guys and contained well over 5k in electrical engineering equipment along with some videogames and other moderately valuable electronics. I called several times trying to hunt down this box, and the GM finally called me back about a month after trying to hunt this down and they told me I could sift through their 'lost and found,' which is a MASSIVE warehouse with hundreds of generic boxes and other things that just sit there. He told me I'm welcome to look around, but it could have taken an entire day or more to thoroughly look for my box of stuff. Please don't give business to these people. They are extremely unprofessional and have no business moving other people's valuables. Even though this move happened 6 months ago, I often find myself looking for something that didn't make the move because it was in that damned box. I am filled with incredible regret every time I think about this nightmare of a move and look at another several hundred dollars leaving my bank account as I replace missing goods from the shady movers that moved my belongings. The movers, including Ben, Aaron and Luis, were very professional and helpful. They had good suggestions and we all worked well together. Almost all of my items were moved over to the new house. Some boxes were left behind and I had to get someone to help me lift them. Also - was very unhappy that they left huge amounts of plastic wrap (that went around the furniture) and filled up my trash barrels - leaving with me with no ability to use my own trash barrels. In their favor, I called the company and they did send someone over to pick up their trash at the end of the day. When I spoke to the gentleman who came for the trash, he informed me that it is Pro Movers policy to throw all their trash away with the customer. That alone will prevent me from using them in the future. read more

The 1-star stories are true :( 1. Found out during the move that driving time is doubled. In total, the day was from 10 AM to 4PM, which is 6 hours (this included the time it took to get to the new place). They added a 1.5 hours charge on top of this for the time it took to drive to the new place. They said it took 1.5 hours to get to the new place so that's 3 hours total transportation time. WTF? I'm still scratching my head at how i was responsible to pay 3 total hours for driving time. 2. I was told that I would be able to make a partial payment with cash, the rest on card, and still be able to take advantage of the cash price special but only if at least half of the total is paid with cash. The foreman somehow voided the rule so that he could pocket more tip. I ended up paying under half of the total with cash, and paid the rest on card so that he could pocket the rest of the cash. It was very manipulative. 3. Their truck could hit a max speed of only 40 mph lmao! So the "double travel time" was definitely milked, which fed into the overrun of billable hours that ended up costing more than I expected. Their business model is very scammy. I should have listened to the other reviewers. There was another company that I got a quote from and was on the fence about choosing. Should have chosen them :( Edit: just plugged my TV in and it is broken. Do not trust these people with your move. read more

He offered more money if I took down my negative reviews. I refused. Update-10/5/2022: This company flagged my reviews and had them removed because I did not accept their offer of $50 to take down the review. I have correspondence, emails, phone calls, and text messages from employees that all work with these companies. Also, I have email exchanges with employees (John Rose, John Romero) representing different company names that sound similar, (promovingusa, promoversoc, Pro Moving & Storage LLC). Original review (10/2/2022): To start with the only positive aspect of this moving experience, I would like to mention that the movers did a great job of packing and unpacking my belongings. However, I would not recommend using this company or any company with a similar name for any move for the reasons listed below: - It appears that there are multiple companies with similar names that are all run by the same people. The reviews are drastically different for each of these "companies." - The only points of contact I have had with the company are John Rose (manager), John Romero (Manager), Victor, and Davin. After the quoting process, I was not able to speak with any manager. John Rose was supportive during the quoting process, but he and the rest of the management team seemed to disappear once payment was submitted. - Once my items were picked up, I never received any status updates from this company. I called, emailed, and sent text messages countless times with no response. The only person I was able to speak with was Victor, and his response was always, "the managers will contact you, there is nothing I can do." - Upon pick up of my items, the delivery team indicated that my items would most likely be delivered the next day (I paid an extra fee for 1-3 day delivery). I heard nothing until 6pm on day 3. I was only given a phone call from the delivery team 45 min before arrival. - For pick up and delivery, the crew only consisted of two people. It took them 4 hours to pack and 4 hours to unpack my items (small 1 bedroom apartment). - I signed a contract with an agreed upon quoted price which included a discount. Before delivery, one of the crew members contacted me and indicated that he would need to be paid an amount that was higher than the original agreed upon quote. I told him that I have the contract indicating the agreed upon amount. However, he essentially threatened to not deliver my items unless I pay the extra amount of money. I asked for an explanation of why there was a discrepancy between the original contract and the newly quoted amount, but was never given a reason aside from "there is no one in the office right now and the management team required this amount." - Since I wanted to regain possession of my items, I paid the higher amount that the company requested but also received in writing on company letterhead that I would be refunded the difference. - I have called, sent text messages, and emailed the company following up on my refund multiple times since the drop-off date with absolutely no response from anyone. - Since the drop off, the only people I have been able to talk to are Victor and Davin who repeatedly indicated that they cannot help me and promised that someone from management will get back to me. Over three months later (move date was end of June 2022), I still have not heard back from anyone. - To make matters worse, many of my items were damaged and/or missing. - Due to the damaged items I filed a claim following the company's policy, and they agreed to compensate me with a very low offer. I accepted but have not received the funds that are owed to me. It appears that once this company receives their money they choose not to respond. I have exhausted all methods of communication and have gotten nowhere with them. I highly recommend not to do business with this company or any company with a similar name due to the extreme unprofessionalism and lack of accountability. read more

All I can say is that I saw all the great reviews and was hoping for the same, unfortunately, I wasnt that lucky. Please be very careful who you choose to move your valuables, my experience was a disaster. First off I want to say initially John was very helpful, I did need to reschedule once because of an issue I had. They were helpful with that. But scheduling the second date, I had confirmed on 4/24/23 with John. I continually got calls pressuring me to change the date and move it up, but it didnt work for me. After that time i could tell they were getting agitated. The problems really started with Sam, their operations guy. Since I had coordianted with John on 24th, but Sam on an earlier occasion on 21st, I was under the assumptiom that the 24th is what we planned on. Nobody called me a day or two beforehand to confirm, so I assumed the 24th it was. Morning of 21st the movers called me and said they were a few minutes away. I was a little surprised and tried to work it out with Sam, only to get this verbal lashing (see screenshots below, do you want this person handling your valuables?) So I emailed John again asking for a refund of my deposit, and after getting a verbal lashing from him as well, was only offered half my deposit back. No thanks. The other company didn't communicate how much stuff we had and promised double the truck and men. The two guys that showed from Pro Movers did their best to fix a situation that was out of their control. (We would have switched to them but as subcontractors, they could have gotten sued. So, hot tip when it comes to moving: make sure the company you're paying doesn't subcontract out. If they do, you're better off a team like Pro Movers directly.) 3/6/23 The manager has reached out and has taken care of all of our concerns. Update: Our whole move has turned out to be a nightmare. My husband received 6 missed called in a row from one of our movers "Joe" and a very threatening voicemail. I posted a picture of the transcribed voicemail, full of threatening a foul language calling my husband names, just extremely unprofessional and definitely an unstable individual. I will add to this review because I want to make sure nobody goes through this. We made sure to notify the police as well since they know where we live. Literally worst experience ever. We contacted the manager after receiving the voicemail and sent him the actual audio of it, he has been prompt on dealing with this and seemed surprised and was very apologetic. My husband was told we are getting part of our move comped and that the head boss will have a sit down with this Joe guy and that his actions were inappropriate, so there is that. As a mom and a wife this was terrible and just no words to describe how extremely unprofessional this whole ordeal was. It's not even about the money anymore...it's more about safety. STAY CLEAR. The movers were great in the sense they packed and unpacked everything quickly. We were moving from a 2 bed ground floor house to another ground floor apartment. My husband was quoted $200 an hour. We were told that they would be arriving at our house in Costa Mesa in between 9:00-10:00am, they called to let us know they would arrive at 11:00. Not a big deal as we have an infant and I needed to load up my car to drive to San Diego. While they were packing up the truck they told my husband they work for tips and are used to 20-40%. My husband was a little taken aback as the job wasn't even finished yet. Over all everything was moved in quickly. Time stopped at 3:45pm. My husband went to take care of the bill and it was $2000!!! He was asked if he wanted to pay cash or card before he even saw the total. He let them know card. When handed the phone to sign he was barely able to see the itemized report. The math isn't adding up. A move quoted at $200 an hour from 11:00am-3:45pm?! He figured that they included the gratuity in the main bill at that price but after they left got a text saying "we work off tips feel free to Venmo, or Zelle." He felt bad after that as we want to make sure we tip...but it was so much over what we were quoted we got suspicious. When he called to asked for an itemized receipt he was told to call the office. Something is a little sketch here. Now we are unpacking and we noticed my dresser has a massive hole in the back of it. I'm really hoping that's all we find thats broken. It was such a weird experience form start to finish-they asked me to take a picture of the empty truck and leave a good review-I really wanted to and I did at first but at the price and what you get and also the "we work for tips..." well it honestly feels like they already took out a massive tip. If I could give this company, no stars I would. My move was originally estimated at 7000 and by the time everything was said and done I paid over 17,000 all in $100 post office cashiers checks. The move was supposed to take four days and it took three weeks. The guys showed up at 7 o'clock at night with a driver and a guy he picked up on the street to unload, a 25 foot truck. I had to pay local movers to come the next morning to empty out the truck and pay them an additional thousand dollars. The driver kept saying "I'm only the driver" and was not even here to unload. New furniture was scratched, and boxes smashed they make you sign, saying that everything is in good order, even though you don't have time to go through it. Before anyone hires a mover. Please do your due diligence, so you don't end up like me. read more
