Kara is one fun young lady. Her spunky attitude and knack for humor with a bit of sarcasm made this visit a treat. She is really a hoot to be around! Between the humor and the hot towels plus the relaxing atmosphere, it was a great way to start our vacation. We had top-notch service and enjoyed the experience overall. We reserved the entire studio so my wife and I could get the royal treatment. Gentle massages and hot water on the feet and lots of wonderful oils and lotions to make the hands and feet feel wonderful Overall, nothing to complain about because we left the studio feeling like a million bucks! The salon itself looks beautiful -- very clean, neat, and well put together. However, my experience with the service was disappointing. When I walked in, the receptionist (Naomi) did not greet me. She saw me and walked away from the front desk -- I'm not sure if she realized I was there or not, but I ended up standing there for about 10 minutes. When she returned, she simply asked for my name and told me to wash my hands and pick a color. There was no "good morning" or welcoming attitude, and she seemed uninterested and disengaged. Even after I chose my color, she stayed on her phone while I waited to be seated. Once I was seated, Throughout my pedicure, several staff members were speaking loudly among themselves In spanish, which made the environment feel less relaxing and more unprofessional. What made the experience especially upsetting was that the technician working on me made comments about my feet smelling and about my legs being fat In Spanish to another technician, They both laughed, and mind you I could Understand it.. which I found extremely disrespectful and inappropriate. I said no. Then we started on my nails. I expressed I wanted my current set taken off and a new set put on. I was very impressed at the fact that she didn't try to rip my nails off instead she soaked my nails and little by little she drilled them off. When that was done she put the new set on and we got to the nail polish portion. I showed her a picture in my phone and asked her if she was able to duplicate it. She said yes. I honestly was shocked. The last place I went to said that they could not do anything they said they only did nail polish no designs. The girl that was doing my nails told me that she could do any design rhinestones it didn't matter what it was bring a picture in and she can do it. I was so impressed because I have so many pictures in my phone that I have always wanted on my nails. So she put a design on my nails with foils. I absolutely love them! She did an amazing job. My nails are perfect! She took her time and had patience with me. I will definitely be returning! I forgot the girls name that did my nails. I went with a friend, and she called to book the appointment weeks ago, with specific technicians. We get to the salon and I let them know I changed my mind and want gel now, not acrylics. A few moments after we walk in a woman comes in and says she has an appointment with one of our technicians. They let her know they overbooked and wouldn't be able to service her. The woman told the technicians that she had called a couple days before and scheduled, and they must've messed it up. Then the technician who's overbooked comes over and tells us we're going to switch so she can do the other woman's nails. To me, as a business, this is bad practice, you shouldn't put your customers in a position like this. I understand that mistakes happen, but they should've honored the people that made the appointment first. In hindsight, I should've advocated for myself better, but I don't think businesses should be putting their clients in this position. They had us sit down because they weren't ready, and we had to wait an additional 15 minutes. At that point I was on a time crunch, and didn't have time to go anywhere else. The technician who did my nails was very upset that I wasn't doing acrylics anymore, and asked me three or four times if I was sure. I didn't realize it at the time, but she cut my cuticle open, and didn't say anything about it. I got home and my finger was in a lot of pain. Bad communication and honoring clients who booked after your other ones is a no for me.
