So I went to get a manicure and pedicure. Firstly, I waited almost an hour to get seated (not a big deal since it was a Saturday in the summer). The technician seemed to take her time on my pedi which I really enjoyed. However, the shop closed at 7 and she got started at about 620. The pedicure took about an hour so she definitely rushed my manicure. I picked one color for my toes, which was a nude, but I alsi wanted a french tip on it. She didn't understand so I had another woman translate and she still didn't do it the way I wanted it. She took off the color and did a basic French pedicure. I have not really had any big issues here before, as I come here quite often. The technician made very uneven coats on my fingernails and I had to ask her to fix very evident mistakes. If I'm paying good money to have pretty nails, I'd at least like them to be the way I want them. read more

The salon I normally frequent just closed for the day and I wanted my nails done before work. I saw this place got 4 stars and was close by so I decided to give it a whirl. At first Kelly made me nervous because after I sat down she continued doing her own nails for a moment but she really did a great job! I got out on time and she was very personable. I will definitely Be back. If you go ask for JASON. I went in today and sat at booth 15 for Kim. She was literally the worst! She had nail polish all over the place. I ended up shaping my own nails before she polished them because she had them all crooked. She drilled into my skin and then proceeded to get acetone in the cut she created. Poured a ton of top coat on each nail which of course creates air bubbles. Thanks to her the overall salon stars got knocked down. I should be able to go to anyone and have a pleasant experience. The people were nice enough - but I can't understand how it could have such high reviews. Possibly the worst manicure I've ever had! She barely filed, buffed, or clipped anything. Threw (yes my best descriptive word for her action was "threw") the polish on and it's a complete disaster. It took forever to dry. There are bubbles throughout the nails and when it finally did dry I had to file down everything she missed. One of the nails she said had something on it (a fuzz or something) mid-painting, so she gauged out the fuzz, and painted over the hole with one coat. Needless to say, you can still clearly see the hole. I could've thrown a fit but honestly, I just wanted to get out of there! So disappointed. I gave it two stars because I feel bad because the lady is older and kind, but I came to get my nails done by a professional - and these do NOT look professionally done. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! THEY USE THE LLEGAL CHEMICAL MMA FOR ACRYLIC NAIL SERVICES. IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE, DAMAGES NATURAL NAILS AND PROVEN RISKS TO HEALTH. As soon as I walked in I regretted it, and I immediately had a feeling something was sketch.. However I didn't want to be rude, so I just continued with the service. I did feel for the women applying the acrylics, because she shared with me a close relative was being hospitalized. Strangely, she later asked if I would be comfortable if she FaceTimed the relative while she continued with my nails...When she began drilling the acrylic down it seemed to take longer than usual, and I began to experience unusual tingling. Additionally due to distractions from her FaceTime, she mistakenly came in contact with my cuticles repeatedly which caused considerable pain and some bleeding. The following day my acrylics looked awful, and the matte finish had worn off. I decided a few days later to remove the polish in order to repaint. I was not shocked to find almost every nail had discoloring, which I initially assumed was a fungal infection. I immediately began to attempt to remove the acrylics, however, after soaking the nails in acetone the substance became very sticky and impossible to remove. First I was not extremely concerned by this, but I decided to go online for tips to help remove acrylic nails. I stumbled on a YouTube video which compared the substances MMA and EMA used for acrylics nails. I learned that the difficulties I had encountered indicated the use of MMA, a chemical banned by the FDA in 30 states including Wisconsin. I am thankful I noticed the discoloring of my nails somewhat quickly. However the damage I had initially assumed was a fungal infection, also matched closely to images of nail deformities caused by the use of MMA. There are many side effects and subsequent health risks associated with the use of this chemical. One article even mentioned that many salons using MMA, will often offer clients a face mask due to strong odor and the potential affect on the respiratory system. Oddly enough, I am also alarmed that Art Nails did not offer face masks. In my opinion, this displays an even greater lack of consideration for the well-being of their patrons. I am horrified by my recent discoveries, and I completely regret resisting my initial urge to leave the salon. I am hoping the damage to my nails is reversible, and that I do not experience any further medical side affects from the use of the illegal chemical. I have filed a complaint with the FDA, and the Better Business Bureau in hopes to cease the use of MMA at this salon. Additionally, I believe licenses should be revoked...if there are any. read more

The first time I came here it was great, I had a girl named Selena doing my gel polish manicure. She was fantastic and did a great job, and I was looking forward to seeing her again. Two weeks later I went back, and she wasn't there, so I let another woman do my nails. Horrible. She chipped my nails because she didn't let the gal polish soak off long enough, and she was rough with my nails. Plus, they tell you that they do shellac, with no CND shellac product in sight. As far as walk in - quick nail shops go, this place is quite good. I have been going to this location for over 10 years. The shop is clean and the owners are very friendly/accomodating. You get your individiual box with basic tools like file, and buffer also. The pedicure tubs are clean and in great shape. I see staff cleaning tools and stations frequently also. They may be a little higher in price, but I do feel that is reflected in the quality and experience of the visit. read more

Went to get a pedicure and brought along my dad who has very thick toenails and needs routine foot care. We arrived only 30 minutes before close as walk-ins and they took us no problem, and stayed open past close for us and several other customers. We both had deluxe pedicures and they did a great job, the experience was great for the price and the techs were very friendly. Only reason for 4 stars is I think my polish is a bit messy on the 2 toes that were done prior to them thinning out my polish. read more

We wanted to destress before a concert that tonight !!!! We both got a pedicure the deluxe!!!! That went great !!! Then my hubby got a manicure while waiting for my toe nails to dry under the heater !!! Went great !!! Bill was 105 no problem !!! Gave both girls a ten dollar tip!!!! Went home 4 hours later I go and take a shower for the concert etc.. I start to dry off when I get to my feet half the damn polish was gone !!!! So I call them !!! They said the polish probably had to much oil in it ???? I use there polish !!! Never heard of that but ok they told me to come back well I told I'd come in the morning at ten sharp for them to fix it!!!! When I get there !!! They look and say they'd fix for a price !!! I told them very nicely that I shouldn't have to pay for it !!! It was my fault at all !!!! The girl at the counter told me it would be about a minute wait ???? I told her you knew I was coming at ten !!! I ask if someone else nit doing anything if they could do it because they weren't that busy !!! Many staff not doing anything!!! She said I had to go with the same person!!! I told her I had to be to work by 12 and I didn't have all that time just to be sitting there and waiting she said if I didn't take care of it today then I was at a luck!!! By this point I almost was in tears !!!we work hard for our money and the girl at the front counter was so sassy with me and treated me like a criminal!!!! Very bad attitude !!! I was so very nice about the error!!!! They said I should of use gel polish instead !!! Been using regular polish for 39 years never ever had that happen !!!! On Christmas Eve (about 2 weeks ago), I spent $80 on a shellac manicure and deluxe pedicure. I have never been more disappointed with the quality of my nails. The woman who was doing my nails seemed as though she was rushing the process. She didn't do a thorough job cleaning around the cuticles, filing my nails and removing the dead skin from my feet. I got a French manicure/pedicure and the paint job itself was done sloppy. Within 5 days, my nail color started chipping on BOTH my hands AND feet. Even when I have done my own nails, my fingernails and ESPECIALLY my toenails never start to chip so quickly. I normally wouldn't be as upset if the nail color didn't come off so fast. It is even more infuriating that I paid $80 on such service, plus tip. I have been to this salon in the past and encountered similar issues regarding service quality. I thought I would give them a second chance, but it was even more dissatisfying than the last time. I'd consider coming in to get them redone free of charge, but after reading previous reviews, I don't know if it would be granted or even worth it for that matter.
