Honestly this place is so hit or miss. I had a great experience last time I went. This time - not so good. Felt way more rushed than normal - the guy who did my manicure did a poor job - there's bubbles under some of the nails, it's dip. And they did my pedicure second (I asked for it to be first) so then I'm sitting there for 20 minutes after and I wanted to ask someone for sandals to use so I could but no one was around so I just finally put on my stuff and left. And now my $50 pedicure looks like crap. Just overall disappointed for how much the services cost. read more

First time ever going here, or any nail salon ever. My friend suggested we go get our nails done, its definitely more her thing and I've never had mine done but I thought it'd be fun. We went at one of the busiest times- 1pm on a Saturday. They took us right away. I forgot the guys name that did mine- I think it started with an R. But you can tell he's been doing this for years. He was quick and meticulous and he did a really awesome job with my nails. Not to mention he was polite and friendly with me despite being completely clueless with this stuff. I'm not a girly girl at all, but I loved the results. I subtracted a star merely because it does seem like they reuse supplies/equipment on multiple customers- sanitary reasoning. Won't stop me from coming though. Now that I've gotten my nails done I can say I'd definitely do it again, and I'd go back to that guy for sure. read more

I'm new to Wisconsin, so after having my boyfriend (a WI native) do some research via word-of-mouth, I took his advice and went to Chic Nail Spa. Anyone who gets their nails done knows that there's a huge difference between a good manicure and a less-than-good one. Choosing the right salon is of utmost importance when it comes to manicures. I evidently forgot to "check in" while I was here, but I had a great experience that is worth writing about! The most noticeable aspect of my visit was how quickly I was in and out. I get acrylic fills and gel polish. Because I'd recently been very busy with moving, I'd fallen behind on my manicures - to the tune of about a month since my previous fill. Put simply, my nails were a mess. They were loose, hurting, and gross looking. In the span of about a half hour, my nails were restored to perfection. I'm amazed at how perfectly shaped and painted they are. In the 7 years I've been getting my nails professionally done, this was the least amount of time it's ever taken for a quality manicure. The woman who did my manicure was not only fast, she was polite. I'm not much of a talker, despite my lengthy Yelp reviews, so I sat quietly and daydreamed as she went to work on my embarrassing claws. However, I asked her for her name as I was paying, and she was happy to provide a business card, so I can request her for my next appointment. In short, very professional conduct and pleasant interaction. I'll be happy to return here. My only complaint (and it's trivial) is that the selection of gel polish colors seems to be lacking. It contains a lot of pinks, reds, and purples, peppered with the occasional neon or glittery shade. I like LOUD colors - I love sparkles and bold shades. More of these being available would be great; however, this is far from a deal-breaker (especially since I'm probably one of few customers who are pushing 30 and still want glittery nails). read more

The employees were very nice and their interaction with our group was good. Since we were on limited time, we all got the basic pedicure. Their basic included much more than some places and pricing was good ($30 for basic pedicure). I've visited Chic 3 times now (maybe 4). I've visited several other in the area and Chic has my business going forward! I only get a manicure, so I can't speak to the pedicures. And I always get gel. The owner (I'm assuming she's the owner based on how she runs Chic like a well-oiled machine). She takes walk ins or you can call before coming in for a time, so you don't have to wait. Many different colors to choose from (if you like a non-glitter color but would like it with glitter, just ask and they have a top coat with glitter they will add!). Prices are quite reasonable and they also offer a complimentary beverage. The only time my polish chipped is after 3 weeks. Owner and all workers are very friendly too! read more

They greet you right away upon arrival and let you know if there's a wait. They also offer you a drink in case you're thirsty. Services are reasonably priced and take about as long as you'd expect. The techs are skilled and professional. They ask for your review and approval as the services progress, to ensure you're happy. Not clean at all. They use the callus cutter which is very dangerous as you cannot properly disinfect this item. These cause serious if not fatal infections and outlawed in many states. Tables are dirty. I do not think they use sterile instruments. I saw a "used" sterile package taken to a nail bowl and tech started using instruments. It was opened and looked old and used. My daughter and I went to get pedicures and polish changes together. My first time going to this "spa". My daughter had an excellent experience and finished 30 minutes before I did. I unfortunately was stuck with the trainee. The pedicure was HORRIBLE!!! She bent my toes in directions they don't go... very painful! For the massage portion of the pedicure well there wasn't one. She seemed confused about how to massage legs and feet. She didn't know how to use the clippers, held them upside down and wasn't able clip my nails. . She filed my nails so short they are painful. Of course, they are not all filed evenly. I'd provide a picture but I fixed them when I got home. She did a horrible job putting the polish on both my toes and fingers...like a child playing with polish! Ugh! Then... she forgot the top coat on my fingers. She stopped doing my toes half way through to come back to my fingers. Then waited extra long for the top coat to dry before I could use my fingers to be able to pay. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I will never go back. It's unfair how I got a student to work on me and paid the same price as clients who receive professional services. I've visited twice in a row for pedicures. My services were pleasant, the esthetician did a great job, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Lots of colors to choose from. The exhaust system is good so you don't get overwhelmed by acrylic fumes from the manicure area-which is my pet peeve. This place was amazing, exactly what I needed to unwind. I got a deluxe pedicure -- I highly recommend the Pearl pedicure, it smells amazing! -- and it was great. Special scent added to the foot bath, a scrub, leg mask with hot towels, extra massage with an awesome lotion, etc. The best part was the amazing attention to detail that was paid while shaping and trimming my toe nails. I also went for the shellac manicure, which was done beautifully! The lines are clean and my nails are fully covered. She triple checked her work before letting my put my nails in the light. At the last minute I added in a brow wax I'm really liking the way they turned out. Plus, she asked if I was sensitive to the oil before she put it on, where as many just put stuff on your raw skin and cause problems for people with skin sensitivity. I decided to get my nails done with my sister-in-law for our family trip to Vegas. We decided to go to this salon based on recommendation from her coworker. Pros: The nail salon was located in a nice little shopping area next door to Starbucks. The nail salon was nice and clean. Cons: The service was horrible. When we first got there, we were told the wait was going to be an hour and for us to come back. Then they changed their mind and said 20 mins. As we waited, there were other customers that came in and were service first. I felt my sister-in-law and I were treated differently because we are asian. I was finally taken back to get my nails done. The lady was ok. She must be new because the salon owner had to come and check on her work. I was not happy with the final look. Some of the nails look crooked and unfitted, you can still see my real nails on the side. My sister-in-law had a horrible experience too. We didn't want to complain too much because all the staff were watching us and speaking in Vietnamese to each other. For what we paid, our dipped gel nails look horrible. Also, they reuse filers and tools on their clients. I would give this place a no star but yelp won't allow so 1 star it is. Recommendations: I will not go back here again. This is the worst nail salon in Brookfield. I've had my nails done over 100 times and this is by far the worst. The owner (Thomas) is awful and rushes with dip powder. My nails look like shit and he had to redo them they still look like shit. The power they use is cheap and does not look like the samples. I went there for the first time the other day. Mary greeted me and was very nice. I went in for a dip on my natural nails. She removed my previous nail dip then she said Nick will do your nails. Ok great! He started using the Dremel tool, with a very rough attachment. I could feel the burning on my nails. I am not used to that. The regular place I go to does not use that on your natural nails for a dip. He was going very fast. Like he was in a rush for something but yet had time to "chat" with another worker. He was very sloppy with the dip and it showed. The end result was not good. Faded in areas, smudging along the edges and bumpy. The salon is very clean and the staff are really friendly. I called for a last minute appointment on a Friday afternoon and they were able to accommodate me immediately. The service was also very fast, and I was in and out in and hour. I was disappointed with the dip nail service that I received. The coffin shape of my nails is uneven, and the dip layering is also uneven, and is very bumpy. Unfortunately, the top coat was not put on evenly either, so there is a gritty texture to the nails. The powder itself also turned out very gritty/speckled in appearance. I'm not sure if that is from the light purple powder, but all in all the service was disappointing. read more

They offer water and soda during your service and work hard to make sure you're satisfied. I used to be a regular customer starting back to when it was Phancy nails on Bluemound. Ever since new ownership took over, things changed, at least for me. I gave them about a year to see if things would improve, but they didnt. I would always call to make an appt and everytime I arrived I had to wait because they took a walk in and no one was available, or the person I requested was off that day..what the heck is that. It certainly gives the appearance that walk ins mattered more than appts!! I would also ask for dip mani and at the time only one girl knew how to do it. When I arrived for my appt she wasn't there. Also, I found out that many times the owner "took" my appt and never wrote my name in the book because the girls couldn't find my appt. That happened a lot! I really did enjoy the girls working there, but I was so disrespected by the guy who became the owner.
