My first experience with ordering a hoagie tray there and it was disastrous! I ordered online a few weeks before, someone confirmed my order and date, and I also got an email confirming the order, date, and pick up time. Go on said date to pick up- gave my last name and the first person thinks I said Maria (my last name doesn't sound like it- not to mention I spelled it) and he rings me up. I said that's not right- so two more people come an I give my full name and said I was the one who called and said I was running behind and they remember and said someone else picked up my order. And I said I know there is no one else with the same last name in this area. So without confirming any part of my name from there they said we can remake it 15 mins and we will discount some of it.i told them if be back as I had a few more errands (and my 5 yr old in toe). I hear back about 40 mins and the tray is still it available and someone new claims they didn't have my last name and its under my first (yet not one person before- when I called or stopped in the first time) tried to get my first name and acted as if my last was fine. And yet again they ask me to wait 15 mins. And in the end all they offer was a$25 gift card and because I lived close dropping the tray off. Its a bunch of young kids who don't know what they're doing or how to find the root of the problem and now I have a gift card to a place I'll never go again or recommend! read more

Decent and consistent. The girls at the counter are young but very nice and friendly. They always seem to be training someone new and are all sweet. The menu has lots of choices. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the meatball sandwich. Rino's next door is much better. The Italian and turkey are always great! read more

I have been coming here for close to 4 years now and I can testify that it is as good or better than it was when I first started to come here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is with out a doubt one of the cleanest places in Exton. Rarely do you see employees with out gloves or messes behind or in front of the counter. I have also had the pleasure of meeting the owner on multiple occasions and after talking to him for less than a minute you can tell how passionate he is about his stores. I have never been more disappointed! I live in Pittsburgh with my husband currently. We came to Philly for a funeral (of all things) and I couldn't get myself to leave without a Primo's Hoagie. I a so incredibly disappointed!! I brought this sandwich to Pittsburgh all the way from Philadelphia just to be extremely disappointed! I ordered a large sharp Italian and my husband got a spicy diablo. When I finally ate the sandwich I realized it was so spicy it was inedible for me. I can not explain how disappointed I am. I love this place.Great hoagies/sandwiches...call them whatever you want. Like many others, I really like the Diablo style.Primo size is all I can finish at one meal. Consistently good help ...hard to find in this kind of business.The managers are real people...I screwed up recently on an order and went to pay/apologise the next day...Tom wouldn't accept payment for the wasted order.Even though I insisted...he still had a smile on his face and shook my hand. On Saturday, June 11, my husband and I decided to go to Primo's Hoagies for lunch. He raves about their hoagies and I only had them once at a function. We entered the restaurant at approximately 1:30 pm. There were about 10-12 people in there, some eating and some waiting on their food. When we placed our order, my husband got a small Italian hoagie and I ordered a small Tuna Delight. He got a pepsi and I asked for a cup of water. Server 102 said he couldn't do that. Then I asked just for a cup of ice. He said that they didn't have an ice machine and that I'd have to buy a bottle of water. I said fine. My husband went to the soda case to get a bottle and there weren't any. He went in the back and got me a WARM one. Then I went outside to wait for the lunch. After 15 minutes, I returned to ask how much longer. He said "uh, maybe five minutes." The people in the back were making other people's sandwiches, who had either called them in or came in after us. Server 102 went back and made our sandwiches. Then he gave them to us. Never apologized. A few minutes later, a lady asked the other girl who was ringing people up for a cup of water and she was hesitant as to whether or not this could be done. The point that I'm trying to make is on a Saturday afternoon, one of the busiest days for a small restaurant, they were unprepared to run the show. The manager, Tyler was on break. I contacted corporate and after playing telephone tag for a bit, he said that he would speak to the owner to get something worked out, either free hoagies or a gift card. This message that I'm including was after I had spoken to corporate regarding my June 11, experience at the restaurant. Saturdays are typically very busy and therefore you encountered some wait time. Wawa and Subway serve pre packaged slop, thus the reason there is no wait, there's nothing to make. I like Primos Diablo tuna. the 3 stars is not for the food but rather for the arrogant ass at the register that took my order. I ordered 3 hoggies. He heard me order something I didn't. When he told me the bill was for $51. I said " for 3 hoggies". He said yes and told me the large was $20. Ok so I read over my bill while waiting. There was an extra hoggie so I immediately told him to not make it and refund me the money for that hoggie. Instead he argued with me and said I ordered that hoggie. What did it fing matter what he thought or heard. But he continued down that path. the Hoggie wasn't even started. I told him just to take it off my order. He asked if I wanted cash because he could not return the funds to my cc. I said cash or returning it to my cc, either way. He then said how about a gift card. I said no and the conversation went in that circle again. Finally a girl came over and said we can return money to the cc. She removed the charge and in 24 hours it would be reversed then she recharged my cc. O yes I will be watching. And do you know what the arguementive twit did? He stomped away. They should really have someone above the age of 12 working here and maybe they would get orders right and not forget stuff? I ordered two hoagies and told them I'll wait in my car with my dog until they were ready, they weren't too busy, probably about 6 people standing around and they told me about 10 minutes. I come back in at 15 mins and they are dumb founded at the fact that no one has started making them. I just had to laugh it off and wait since I already payed for them. Good minds think alike!!! My wife was down in the Exton area and thought to pick up some hoagies. She could not reach me so she got me a mild Italian. Man so good. Rolls were amazing. Here is where it gets funny. I was in the Primo's Downingtown doing the exact same thing as my wife. Getting us some hoagies. Ironically we both ordered the same exact for each of us. We got home and we could not tell which one came from where. So great and so good. Nothing is better than Exton and the new location in Downingtown. Love it! read more

Yummy, yummy, yummy!! I had a hankering for an Italian hoagie today. I took a lunchtime run to the Downingtown location. I was not disappointed!! I ordered the sharp Italian with long hots & sweet peppers. Let me tell you it hit the spot. Full of flavor and perfect amount of meat. I could only eat half and since I ordered it "dry" I will save the other half for my lunch tomorrow. I did read the reviews from other people, but this was not my experience...just saying. Chris, who is one of the managers, is extremely rude. They got my order wrong, he overhears the cashier realizing their mistake and he says to me "So what do you want me to do about it?" in a sarcastic tone. He did not correct the order and the whole experience was so unpleasant, I left with the messed up sandwich instead of asking for my money back. Judging by the other reviews, they often mess up orders and this is how customers are treated. It was my first time at a Primo's.The bread was soggy on the bottom of the whole sandwich, making it pretty gross to eat so I can't even say the food makes up for the service. I wish I looked at the reviews before spending money there. I definitely would not recommend going here, especially when there are so many good hoagie places in the area. read more

We just participated in our third elementary school fundraiser with Primo Hoagies. They are great to work with from start to finish. Tina made the ordering easy and Chris, the owner, was kind enough to deliver the hoagies right to our school. Then, selling them was the easiest part! If you like hoagies, you'll love Primo hoagies. Having enjoyed delicious Primos hoagies many times, I thought it would be nice to bring some to the workers & residents of the NJ shore cleaning up from Hurricane Sandy. After contacting the owner, Chris, to see about getting a "deal" on some rolls he asked me what I was doing and then without a blink of the eye overwhelmed us by DONATING ALL the meatballs, sauce & bread for 200 meatball sandwiches as well as trays & trays of prepared sub sandwiches! Pickles, condiments, plates, napkins - EVERYTHING we needed was prepared and ready for us to pick up on Saturday morning. Chris even thought to provide vegetarian subs. He also contacted his vendors and got 10 cases of water donated by Coke & 196 bags of chips from Herr's! He took the time to show us how to properly prepare the meatball sandwiches & sent us off with spoons to serve them with, a thermometer to make sure we cooked them thoroughly & then proceded to make sandwiches for us to eat on the ride down. The residents of Manasquan & the National Guard greatly enjoyed the meal and shared great appreciation to Chris & Primo's. I was a huge fan before because of the delicious sandwiches, but now I will go out of my way to support Primo's because of the tremendous generosity they give back to the community. I highly recommend you stop by & see the hearttfelt thank you poster signed by the people of Manasquan & enjoy a delicious sandwich. Thanks again Chris! read more
