We've had good food from here, with one or two times where there was a glitch with an online order which delayed our pick-up. However, my review is for a recent order, which had a very burnt coal-fired pizza. Since it was a pick-up and we didn't notice till we got home and started eating it, it was not worth our time to drive back to see if we can get a different pizza. This is our local go-to pizza place (Chesterbrook location). My kids, ages 6 and 7, and their friends LOVE their cheese and pepperoni pizza. Me and my friends are obsessed with their avocado pepitoria salad with house dressing! If I could make any suggestion, it would be for improvements to their desserts for that special Friday when we eat at the restaurant after a long work week. In Philadelphia area, good pizza is not hard to find. This was generic. Bad service, rude staff, bad food. The taco slice was delicious though. It was like I was eating a taco. All the toppings were fresh and delicious. Especially the nacho cheese sauce. I was a bit skeptical, especially about them warming up lettuce. It was solid. The cheesesteak on the other hand wasn't as good. I didn't care for the steak, it was tough and the American cheese was a bit too much for me. If I were in the area again, I would stop back in. They offer a wide variety of slices. We ordered a coal fired Margherita pizza with salsicce to be delivered to our hotel room. When I was ordering I specifically asked for silverware and the server offered to give us plates as well. We were disappointed to find that we simply got pizza with no utensils or plates. We scrounged up some paper towels to wipe hands on. The desk clerk told us later that they never bring utensils even though they promise. The pizza was good, not the best I've ever had, but it was cold. When we moved out of the city, I thought I lost the convenience of getting a solid coal fired pizza (from Pietros). Then all of sudden, thanks to Yelp, I found HG. HG is decorated with a clean and modern look - and, honestly, I think of something more rustic or stereotypically Italian looking when it comes to having good pizza. PUMP THE BREAKS..... I am a changed man because HG's coal fired pizza is out of this world, especially if you get thin crust. Regular crust is just fine as well, but the thin crust is something special. In addition to the pizza, we've had hoagies/grinders, wings, bolis, and calzones -- all of which were great. The staff are all super friendly and polite... always a plus. Every time I've gone there (Chesterbrook location), it looks busy - yet, they are efficient and the food is always ready when expected or delivered expeditiously. Signs of a well-run operation.
