A mainline gem-situated right on Lancaster Avenue, this place is hard to miss. I've driven by seemingly a million times over the past thirty years or so and never stopped in, but I e enjoyed this pizza twice now, in the past few months, with friends. They serve a typical Philly Greek style pan pizza, similar to other pizza joints in the area, and they don't disappoint. We had a cheese pizza for delivery-came just when expected, hot, and cooked well. Driver was polite. I have ordered their Swiss Mushroom Burger on a Brioche Roll with fried onions countless times over the past 3 years and it has always been juicy and delicious. What happened? The burger I received was dry and the onions were barely cooked, even the meat of the burger was tasteless. Please, bring back the old recipe and ingredients as this was a disappointing substitute. Somethings just make you feel good and Berwyn Pizza delivers that home experience. They've been around for over 30 years and you get that familial vibe. The menu is decently sized and has all the feel good foods from pizza to hoagies to chicken Parm dinners. Some of my personal favorites are the cheese steak hoagies and Berwyn cheese fries. The bread of the cheesesteak has so much texture to it and perfectly soaks the cheese whiz. Berwyn cheese fries are coated in cheese, bacon, and ranch - for finger licking goodness. I stopped by for the first time and ordered a delicious Turkey grinder. For a grinder, the Turkey was a little (hoagie) cool in the middle, but otherwise it was absolutely delicious. Every crunchy bite of the roll sent crumbs flying off to every inch of their table. Just glad I didn't take it home to eat. I highly recommend trying one of these grinders. Ok, fair is fair, since my last review they added online ordering, so now this place gets its fair props. Ordered online and got a great meal at a great price. Ordered a Gyro with more gyro meat than I have seen in awhile outside a gyro place, pizza places so rarely do this anymore. Garlic bread and meatballs were excellent. Our family lives about a 2-minute drive away, so picking up is easy. Also, we are a family of 4, so if delivery is necessary, that is an option. We have ordered from here at least 100 times (not an exaggeration.) They are incredibly consistent! I don't think we have ever been disappointed. The pizza is always good and doesn't fall apart. There are not many new reviews for Berwyn Pizza and I know why. Berwyn Pizza has been a staple on the mainline for over 40 years. They consistently served high quality food. This was the pizza of my childhood and sometimes only will do for me. Recently and frequently, I would order 3 large pizzas to stock my freezer up since I moved away from the area. Yes, I travelled 15 miles to get this pizza and yes, it was that good and unique. I have noticed that the pizzas have gotten smaller over time (not good). The cost increased but I was okay with $ because the same flavor was there. Until my last couple visits.The cheese blend has changed. I won't pretend I know their cheese blend formula but it's off and I stopped my patronage after 40 years. Spending $60 on large pizzas should be LARGE pizzas (not their old medium size) and the amount & quality (cheese blend) is just not what it used to be. Posting this makes me sad. It really does. I hope they can correct this. If they do, GenX, please let me know (because we know how great their pizza can be)! read more

Grew up in Berwyn, PA and would eat Berwyn Pizza a lot. Was just back up in Berwyn, and had to get my fix. Really great food across the board. Defintely recommend them if you are in the area. The stromboli is a must have, and their cheesesteaks and pizza are great as well. This place used to be a very small pizza shop, and then they added on to it and made it look more like a restaurant. I've lived here my entire life and I have no idea why it took until the spring of 2021 to discover Berwyn Pizza. Consistently, every time I call, they are so friendly. The delivery service is prompt and equally friendly. But most important...the food !! The cheese pizza is SO good. I can't stop thinking about the chicken fingers, they're the best around. I ordered the jalapeño poppers, fried flounder sandwich, and chicken cheesesteak Stromboli. Unfortunately, nothing was good! Poppers were soggy and the cheese inside wasn't melted and tasted like can cheese. The cheesesteak stromboli lacked flavor since they didn't even season the meat, bland season-less chopped chicken is not my idea of a good meal. Finally, and probably the worst of all 3 was the flounder sandwich, it was a joke! It was obviously a very poor quality frozen piece of fish topped with a mushy tomato and wet soggy lettuce. The Berwyn Pizza is a Greek-style pizza, that is milder cheeses, "fried". So, if you're looking for a thin pizza, this is not it. It's just not the style. It's a pan-style pizza similar to Pizza Hut, but this version is much better. The crust is still airy and light, without much flavor, but not bland at the same time. The pizza is greasy - but that is the style - some love it or hate it. I most certainly like it. The cheese is legendary and a great mix. It's a treat and I love this place, although the oils used to fry aren't my first preference (tastes like vegetable oil), hence the 4 star rating. If only they would cook it in pepperoni fat... Jalapeño poppers- looked great, but they were cold and the cheese tasted like it came out of a can. Trash. Horrible. Flounder sandwich- again..looked great. Once you pick the sandwich up, you realize the fish is mushy and blends into the bread. The tomatoes were mushy and it was just messy and unedible. Even then, I still took a few bites only to realize the fish had no flavor. Worst fish sandwich ever. Not the fresh crispy sandwich you expect. Trash. Overall experience: I heard the place was good so I ordered delivery, but I had a Terrible food experience. I will never order here again and I recommend you do that you dont either.
