We really enjoy their pizza. It's as close to Manco-Manco pizza that you'll find on the Mainline. In fact, if I were downtheshore, and Phil's was on the Boardwalk, I would switch it up between M-M and Phils. The service is very good and their delivery options are acceptable. Enjoy! read more

Average subs, slightly above average pizzas, but boss and staff alike have a bad attitude! My advice is, why not cross the street to Bravissimo whose subs are at least two levels above Phil's, and they actually seem to enjoy their customers there! Still have to say the best pizza in the area. Service has improved, just don't expect smiles all the time. One time, had to give up and order from somewhere else when it was obvious they were too busy and were placed on interminable hold. New try the regular pizza with extra cheese. The Food was kind of scrumptious, but the service was very ambient, if you catch my drift. For a busy man like me I need my food done speedy, but the waiter took five minutes to take my order to the cooking man. This place has great pizza but the staff are total jerks. The customer service is horrible but it's pretty good pizza.

Dude, don't be cheap with your soda!!! $2 for a baby size 8 oz cup that is only refillable once is bull crap!! Have been there twice, and it was horrible. Honestly, disregarding the food, even If it was the best pizza in the world, which it's not, I would simply never come back just for the rude service. Clearly the individuals who work here could care less about being polite. They insult you when you ask a simple question about placing an order and then put you on hold for 10 minutes only to hang up. Then you call back and they finally actually take an order, but just talk down to you the entire time. Normally I really do appreciate the people who work in these industries. Its hard work and it can be exhausting, but I did nothing to provoke them. I wish I could like this place but there has to he some degree of politeness. Pizza is very good. A sweeter sauce than most. Two size hoagies which is nice 12" or 18". The Biggest issue is the miserable staff. They have a terrible attitude and not friendly or appreciative at all. It's like your doing them a favor. I don't go often because of that Updating my review today. Great food great New York style Pizza. Just the people that run the place are complete ASSHOLES! No customer service. It is just like ordering a real NYC Pizza. "What do you want..." mentality. My family came to visit us here in Tennessee. Good family never, never comes empty handed. They asked for extra wrapping to insulate the best Cheese Steaks ever! I wish we could get these more often. Decided to try this place again and order for pick up, The staff is still surly BUT i did try the upside down pie and have to say it was very good. had it twice recently. still low score for the service and dont even TRY and get delivery.... they will yell at you and tell you how long it will take as if to suggest that delevery is not a good option! This pizza place has been in business since 1968. It's family-run, and the staff seems a little gruff, but their pizza was really good, at least for the Main Line. I went in at 11am, feeling a bit peckish. I ordered a plain slice right out of the oven, and it was fresh, hot and good. The crust was thin and had a nice crunchewy texture, there was plenty of tomato sauce, and it wasn't drowning in cheese. Personally, I prefer a bit extra tomato because I think it keeps things in better balance. So if that's how you like your pizza, this place is for you! read more

I'm taking away one star for grumpiness...otherwise really good pizza and great chicken cheese steaks. Been to Phils about a dozen times and each and every time the person at the front register seems miserable (bar one time). Life cannot be that bad, can it? I've tried about 8 or so Main Line Pizza joints since moving here, Phils is the overall best. Quick run-down of few Main Line Pizza shops: 1.) Anthony's Brick Oven Pizza: Amazing brick over stlye pizza, but my kids don't like it because the pizza has a sort of burnt, charcol flavor from the oven...wings are amazing too. Would go here more often if only the kids liked it. 2.) Main Line Pizza: Greek Style Pizza, little greasy, overall good. Hogies decent. However pricey for what you get. 3.) Jules Pizza: We really do like Jules, problem is, it isn't an every Friday type pizza. Too Fru-Fru for every week. And you're still hungry after eating a half of pizza by yourself! 4.) Pie in the Sky: Pass, Meh 5.) Paola's: I really wanted to love this place and make it our every Friday for the family, and the owners are super, super nice. Pizza was decent, not amazing. Crust a little dry. Hogies and Steaks very solild. However, the thing that makes this place a no-go for us is awful location. Try picking up a pizza on Friday at 6pm, parking is brutal and the area is jammed with people and cars...I think the owners should consider curb-side pick-up. 6.) Peace of Pizza: Again, just average. Not bad, but nothing I'd want to keep going back to. The very best pizza in the Philly-Burbs is Italian Delight in Broomall. Little too far for Main Liners, but if you're in the area, order the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and prepare for heaven.... read more

I haven't tried the pizza but the the pepper cheese steak with fried onions was solid. I walked over from Keystone while waiting for my poor car to be brought back to life and the service was fast and pretty friendly. I did like the seasoned curl fries a lot; they were hot, crispy, and flavorful. It was about $12 for a footlong steak and a side of curly rise, which isn't bad considering that it's Berwyn. A goof place to grab a quick bite on the Main Line, although it's not exactly Dalessandro's. read more

Went here tonight for the first time and the pizza is awesome! Totally our new pizza place! As far as the service...you people are hypersensitive! The guy that takes the orders is just a "dry" guy not rude! I almost didn't go here because I hold establishments to the same standards for their food and service, after reading these I didn't want to deal with a rude place. I'm glad I went! Really great food and the service was fine! He wasn't bubbly and gushing with joy by any means. Pretty much just took my order and money but was not rude. Very simply this place has great food. We stumbled on this place driving by and just dropped in. It was a great choice. We all had cheesesteaks and loved them. The service was good and the place was very clean. Even the bathroom was very clean, ladies. There is plenty of seating and is good for kids. I would definitely eat here again. read more

My husband brought me here because he said he had great pizza. We drove the 15 min rather than going to our local spot and I was unimpressed. They told me 20 minutes. I arrived 25 minutes later. They hadn't even started to prepare my food. I got my food 15 minutes later. They ran out of large rolls and gave me two small rolls for my hoagie. The guy charged me for the two rolls. At a price that was more than it would have been if it was just one large roll. I know times are tough right now. But if the people there were a bit more honest and not trying to sneak things buy me I would have at least gave them 2 stars. read more

After eating at Phil's I gotta say, I'm not sure why Phil is famous. Had the cheesesteak-fair, nothing to rave about. My youthful companion opted for the chicken fingers and fries (no surprise there). The chicken fingers were pressed, processed chicken. The fries were straight out of the frozen food aisle. This is a great place to grab some fast food. Very delicious and quick. Also the staff is very nice and hardworking.

3.1 Stars They couldn't compete with the Jersey shore so they had to move to PA. Average food. And what a smart move it was! My work ordered Berwyn Pizza, Seasons, and then Phils. Phils definitely came out on top for pizza, for whatever that's worth on the Western main Line. I tried their cheesesteak too, which was also pretty average. Their secret is that Phil is actually from the Eastern Main Line (Ardmore) where the food is a bit better so Phil hoofs in on out where good pizzas are few and far between in Berwyn to blow the competition out of the water. So if Berwyn ever got a Napoli brick over place in town, the competitive landscape would shift in a manner equivalent to sending a SWAT team through a peasant village. read more
