Lots of hoagie options to choose from! Went with the Nonna's Veggie and Tuna Diablo (spicy). Both hoagies were good. We got pickles, peppers and banana peppers on the side that complimented the hoagies well. On the pricier side for a hoagie. Service was quick and friendly.

A Taste of Abruzzo in Bryn Mawr ?…read more Exit 13 isn't just a restaurant -- it's a warm, home-style escape straight into the heart of Abruzzo. The moment you walk in, the vibe hits you first: vibrant colors, rustic touches, and an ambiance that feels like stepping into someone's family dining room back in Italy. It's authentic, comforting, and alive with culture. The food? Unreal. Their **homemade bread** sets the tone -- rustic, fresh, and full of that old-world character. The **pizza** is on another level with dough that's so good it almost steals the show. Every pasta dish carries that handcrafted feel, the kind that tells you the recipe didn't come from a cookbook -- it came from memory. Appetizers are just as impressive, but the **grilled octopus** stands out as a true star. Perfectly cooked, deeply flavorful, and proof that Exit 13 puts heart into every dish. This is the kind of spot where the atmosphere and the food work together -- where the vibe feels like home and the flavors taste like heritage. Exit 13 doesn't just serve Italian cuisine. It brings Abruzzo to life. **A must-visit for anyone who loves real, soulful, authentic food.**

The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.

Fast forward to this latest visit home. I finally secured a reservation...but then late yesterday afternoon my mom's knee started acting up to the point where she could barely stand on it. Fortunately, ice, Advil and rest overnight--and my mom really, really wanting to come here--kept us on track, and tonight I finally made it. It's a cozy spot, and I can see it making an excellent date night, especially since the BYOB setup allows you to bring the wine of your choice (and save some $$). We were seated promptly--this Sunday was relatively mellow--and the servers were super accommodating about removing a chair so that my mom's walker could occupy the unused space on our four-top. The menu is what I call right-sized. It may seem smallish, but there is a strategic assortment of salads and apps, pastas and mains (and, of course, desserts) that is sure to accommodate everyone. Dean, the young man who would go on to do an outstanding job taking care of us for the night (with the other two servers chipping in seamlessly as needed), went through the specials. My mom was particularly intrigued by a squid-ink fettucine with lobster and shrimp (and cherry tomatoes) in a saffron cream sauce. Could we split it as an app, we asked? Would it be too much food? On Dean's advice, we went ahead, while my dad got the mussels. All three of us ordered the pork chop, which my parents have been raving about for a couple years now. How could I not try it? Ordering finished, bread and olive oil (with a bit of balsamic) arrived at the table. Knowing I had a pasta coming and that the pork chop was a good-sized portion, I didn't want to overdo it, which I think was ultimately a good choice. The bread took the edge off, and then the pasta arrived. It was just the right amount for two people to share as an app, and we both enjoyed it, while my dad loved his mussels (and then dunked lots of his bread in it). Then came the main event. The pork chop lived up to (and frankly, exceeded) the hype. It was tender and perfectly cooked and oh-so-flavorful. Definitely one of the best I've ever eaten, and this isn't my first pork-chop rodeo. It was accompanied by asparagus and yummy baby Yukon Gold potatoes; I left a view of the latter, not because they weren't yummy but rather because the pork chop was huge and I was not skipping dessert. For dessert, I went with the house-made cannoli, which was a lovely, sweet (but not oversweet) ending to an excellent meal. I'd be happy to come back to Burrata anytime.

The waiters were very attentive. The menu was limited but has something for everyone. I went with the Chicken Parmiginia. The sauce was flavorful and delicious. The chicken was so tender and the portion size was just right. Not overwhelming at all. My wife had the squid ink pasta in a white wine and garlic sauce with crab meat. She didn't leave a morsel. We were amazed at how good our food was and why we hadn't dine here before. We split a mixed greens salad which was also delicious with apples. Topped it off with Strawberry Gelato and Limoncello cake. We had a great date night and can't wait to go back. Very reasonably priced and also a BYOB. So grab your friends or family, some adult beverages and have a wonderful dining experience. Burrata we will be back and sooner then later.

They also have a private area upstairs from this area where one could do a party for 10-12 and was used during the baby shower to make fresh flower bouquets, what a nice idea! Now to the food: - platter of fresh and grilled vegetables - 5/5, I only had the broccoli rabe and it was excellent - passed hors d'oeuvres - arancini 4/5, a little greasy but tasty, stuffed mushrooms 5/5 - not sure what they stuffed them with but delish!, whipped ricotta toasts with fig jam 4/5 quite decent - caesar salad - 4/5 - I thought it was overdressed but that didn't stop me from having several helpings - chopped salad - 4/5 - excellent and could have done without the pieces of salami in it but that's personal preference - margherita pizza - 4/5 solid offering - gemelli pasta with pistachio pesto - 5/5, this was one of my favorite items, light and tasty - fancy grilled cheese - 3/5, a little strange, with scrambled eggs, cheese, honey, inside thick sliced bread. Not inedible but also not at all what I was expecting - crispy potatoes - 5*/5, these were outstanding, think smashed pieces of potato lightly fried with salt (some pieces a little too salty) but perfection otherwise with the crispness of the potatoes. I would go back just for these potatoes The ambiance and service were great. Selection of cocktails and mocktails offered (not sure if they were specially made for the baby shower so I'm not going to comment) were solid. I'll go back and try it again for a dinner or lunch out

It's the kind of space that makes you want to settle in and keep enjoying just one more bite. This visit, I had the veal stuffed homemade pasta and the Sicilian meatballs both rich, comforting, and beautifully balanced. The pasta was tender and clearly house-made, and the meatballs were perfectly seasoned in a slow-simmered sauce full of depth. The shrimp appetizer was the standout, served with a special house-made sauce and crispy pickled cucumbers for the perfect bright contrast. Truly my favorite shrimp appetizer I've ever had. Our server, Andrea, really made the experience even better. She helped us navigate the menu and offered thoughtful suggestions that we absolutely loved. Between the food, the ambiance, and the service, Rosalie always feels like comfort done right.

The experience was a little bizarre. Their website says "Rosalie doesn't allow reservations for 1,…read moreplease just walk in". I walked in, as directed, just for a very flustered man at the front of the house to fumble with his system for a good 10 mins. Telling me there was a table, then taking it back and saying there were no tables for the night, then saying nevermind and making me a reservation for two (which I would have done if not discouraged by the website) for half an hour later. At this point I already had a very bad taste in my mouth from the level of chaos. I waited outside for my table. When I got to my table I will say my server was very nice until a strange comment came up at dessert. Once I ordered my dessert, he left and came back with two spoons, saying "I brought two spoons for us." It almost seemed implied he'd join me. I dine a lot alone, voluntarily. Most of the time it's after work and I really don't want, let alone need, company. His comment gave me anxiety as I wondered how I would politely tell this man I wanted to dine alone. When he brought the dessert he did not join me but made sure to say "I'll be back for a few bites." Maybe it was a joke but to me it was very odd and made me pretty uncomfortable. I gave three stars just for the Cacio e Pepe. It was very good. I did (without giving tmi) have a very sick stomach after the meal and the morning after so I wouldn't return just incase that was the cause. Like a said... a weird experience.

I thought it was very average; likely a one-shot deal for us. BUT, the restaurant appears to be popular, so you may think it's great." I hate assessing Core de Roma as less than wonderful. The owner is so gracious and wants everyone to be happy. But the reality is, with so many Italian restaurants in and around Philadelphia, you've got to be on top of your game. They start you off with warm Italian bread and a plate of tasty cannelloni beans in olive oil. We ordered calamari as an appetizer, described as being served on a "bed of greens." Had we known the "bed" was two meager leaves of lettuce, we would have ordered a salad as well. The calamari should be crisper and include tentacles in addition to rings. My husband's chicken Francese was pretty much indistinguishable from my saltimbocca. I like when the breasts are pounded thin, but these were sliced overly thin, and the portion, somewhat skimpy. One piece of T's was lemony, the other not. I did taste sage on my saltimbocca, but had I not known that the chicken was topped with prosciutto, I wouldn't have guessed it was there. I read that some restaurants don't serve angel hair pasta because it's easy to over-cook. You guessed it. Boiled to the point of being almost mushy, with sauce that literally had no taste. When we split a small piece of limoncello cake, T said "this is the most flavorful thing we've eaten." And sadly, I agreed. The restaurant is BYOB with a reasonable $5 corkage fee. The staff is young and efficient. There's a parking lot down the hill in the back. Ambience is okay -- despite some other Yelpers' complaints. The only thing needing improvement: the food.

Plates for "finished" diners cleared before all diners were through, which is understandable but not practiced in some higher end places.
