Went here last night for the first time to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends- it was the WORSE decision I made. 1) The pizza was burnt. 2) The salad had no parmesan cheese or dressing. We came here for my birthday dinner on a Sunday at 8pm. It was pretty empty but it was nice, like my friends and I had the place to ourselves as the other tables with guests were far away. Started with the crab cake, rubiolo pizza and prosciutto with burrata - all of which were delicious (and I don't even eat crab!). Next we all wanted steaks/chops as our entree but also wanted to try the carbonara SO we split 1 bowl of carbonara amongst us that was good but we didn't care for the pancetta. 3 of us had filet mignon and one had lamp chop. All of which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. What's a good steak without a side of mash and creamed spinach?? Also amazing. Oh! And it came with roasted garlic... yummmm! Now we're ready to explode and thankful they didn't present a bread basket in the beginning (the ONLY downfall) and they come with dessert menus... we couldn't possibly... but we did. Ordered the triple layer chocolate cake and the waiter tells us to pick another dessert as they would like to bring us 2 desserts on the house. OMG. We'll take the cheesecake. Candle lit cake and singing, they arrive with THREE desserts, it's comical at this point how much food we have had. I am so disappointed with our experience at Prime 1024. We went on a Saturday night for my Dad's birthday after our original reservation at another steakhouse was cancelled due to unforeseen weather issues since it's on the water. I called 15 different steak places all over Long Island and Prime 1024 was the only place on a Saturday that would take us. I should've taken that as a sign. We drove all the way to Manhasset from Holtsville, just to have an overpriced, disappointing meal. My fiancé and I met my parents there and had a drink at the bar while we waited. It was very expensive but the drinks were great so I have no complaints. First thing we order is a brick oven pizza to share amongst the 4 of us. It was terrible, completely under cooked, underwhelming and over priced. If you're going to pay $20 for a personal pizza, it better be fresh! Next, our server encourages us to order a tomahawk steak. He says 3 people can share it so my parents and I decide that we will split that. My fiancé orders a $58 bone in filet mignon. I have never heard of this but everyone knows filet is the best cut of meat and if there's a bone attached, it must be amazing! It wasn't. It was so thick and had no flavor. It wasn't tender at all. The tomahawk was a big piece of meat but not big enough for 3 people. Barely big enough for 2. We also ordered mashed potatoes, fries and asparagus. The fries were so crispy and fresh, the mashed potatoes weren't hot and the asparagus was fine. Normally when you order a tomahawk, presentation is everything and it comes out table side with that giant bone. This was not like that, very underwhelming and you could tell everyone looked at one another like, "this is it?" We split the 7 layer chocolate cake and pana cotta between the 4 of us. Both were delicious and definitely fresh. Not worth $12 each, but fresh. I got a latte which tasted like coffee with milk. I don't think the person who made it knew what frothing milk was. Just so everyone knows how our night ended, we stopped at Wendy's because we were all still hungry. With so many steak houses out there and Bryan and Cooper down the road, I give this place a year to make it. read more

Giving Prime 1024 two stars was based on ambiance only. We went on a Monday recently. Only about 6 tables occupied and we sat on the booth end with 2 tables being occupied. The service was almost non-existent and required bad mannered hand-waving to get attention. The salad appetizer had no dressing, just dry greens and grated cheese. The fish dish had no seasoning and was not filleted. The sirloin steak was tasteless and in need of requested salt which took 15 minutes to get after waiting almost 10 minutes to get the waiters attention. Bad coffee too; almost unbelievable until the bill arrived with an additional charge from another table. Enough said!!! read more

This place is okay depending on when you go. We have been here before and had a pleasant meal the first time however the last visit was a little disappointing, enough to prompt this review. On a Sunday evening when the restaurant was not very busy (one large party in the back and a few other tables taken but not the majority of them), we experienced slow service, even for the drinks and the appetizers. For the main course, I ordered a NY Sirloin steak medium-rare and it was overcooked to a medium which, if you are going to pay ~$60 for a steak, one would expect that it is cooked to the correct temperature. For the prices that this place charges, I would expect a higher standard of cuisine at a higher level of consistency than what I have experienced. read more

The best way to describe our experience at Prime 1024 was Jekyll and Hyde. For every good experience, there was an equally bad one. Located right off Northern Boulevard, this location has been a tough one for any restaurant so hopefully Prime 1024 will survive where others have not. Let's hope so since the decor here is wonderful and it would be a shame to see it go to waste. The menu here is a combo of steakhouse, Italian and some seafood dishes. The meal started out with a nice bread basket and we got both still and sparkling water for the table (more on this later). The wife and I got the porterhouse for 2 along with creamed spinach and brussel sprouts while the kids and others got pasta or fish. The steak was definitely high quality but they overcooked it (we ordered medium rare and it came out medium). Sides were pretty good but for 8-10 bucks per side, there could've been some more. The bronzino got panned for being way too bland. Our daughter hated her pizza so the management was nice enough to swap it out for something she wanted and didn't charge for it. Dessert was decent but we had a couple of orders of gelato and for 8 bucks per dish, you can do better than one scoop. In addition, the whipped cream was all melted on all the dessert dishes which made it look unappetizing. Service here was really friendly and they wanted to be helpful. Being helpful however, and knowing how to help are not the same thing. The servers repeatedly had no idea what they were doing. They continually filled glasses that had sparkling water with still water even though we kept reminding them which glass was which. Manager here was excellent and took great care of us. Too bad his staff couldn't follow his lead. Overall the meal was ok but the value isn't there. We spent well over $500 and I wasn't sure it was worth it. Three of us ordered a medium rare ribeye. I thought mine was cooked medium and so I requested a redo to medium rare. The waiter tells me it looks medium rare to him. I said three of us ordered the same thing and mine clearly looks more cooked than the other two. The waiter apologizes that the other two were cooked rare. I insisted on redoing mine as medium rare. While I was waiting, I was not given any plates and so I couldn't even eat the sides on the table and simply watched others eat. The second one came out burnt on the outside but rare on the inside. I asked to cook it slightly more. When the steak came back a third time, it still looked rare on the inside. Because I've waited so long and everyone was done eating, I simply said it was ok (so that I can eat some of it and take the rest home to cook it more myself). Afterwards, the waiter apologized for the inconvenience and gave us a few desserts. Unfortunately, when we were about to leave the restaurant, I had an unusually painful stomach ache that forced me to remain in the restaurant longer than I or my friends wanted to. Second issue was we asked for truffle spinach but they gave us steamed spinach instead. When we asked them to rectify, they gave us the truffle spinach but ended up charging us for both. Not only did this place made me sick after eating, it wasted a lot of my time. Probably one of my worst experiences at a steakhouse. That said, the waiter did try fixing things and this happened on Father's Day evening and so I'm refraining from giving one star. read more

Sometimes it's just better to narrow down what you are trying to be. There making a bold statement by having a huge parmesan wheel to show you're getting the real thing and not flavored cellulose. I don't know where to start, it was that terrible. I guess Ill start with: Do not eat here for any reason. I came here one time before. It was not terrible but incredibly underwhelming. However, a friend of mine said he thought they had a new chef...so I decided to give it a try again this past saturday. Huge mistake. Here are just a few of the many many reasons I would never eat here under any circumstances ever again: Bread comes out...It had to be at least a few days old and was incredibly stale. We get the tuna tartar... totally flavorless Next come the calamari...not the worst but over fried and essentially $30 bar food At this point we decide not to order steak since all the cuts were overpriced and clearly they dont know how to cook...so we get the burger and Branzino. The burger waas under cooked and bun was so stale, it was ridiculous (which for a $30 burger is insulting). I never do this but I told the waiter about the bun...he agreed it was stale and said he would get me a new one...but he never came back with it. The Branzino was tasteless and we barely touched it. Now onto the waiter...Aside from being overly talkative ( we were trying to have a quiet romantic night)...he kept coming over and saying odd things like "you two should have babies together and that we were a good looking couple..at one point my GF choked a little on some water and he was trying to pat her back? Like what? Then he takes the one year old baby from the table next to us and is walking him around the restaurant...it was so weird and honestly kinda gross. The baby had drool all over him and this guy was hugging and dancing with kid and then touching food....it was just repulsive. Then we paid our $250 bill and went home feeling ill from the terrible food. This place needs new management, new staff and new food. Just stay away. read more

Lovely Christmas Eve dinner with the family tonight at Prime. Our server was Juan who was personable and extremely polite. He was attentive without being overbearing, and made sure we had whatever we needed at all times. We started with a dozen raw oysters and calamari appetizers. The oysters were fresh and delicious, while the calamari was hot, crisp, very good. Our entrees included the NY sirloin, veal chop, branzino, and chicken diablo. The steaks were cooked to absolute perfection and well seasoned. The veal was massive and very tender. I didn't try the chicken or fish, but both individuals raved about it. For sides, we shared the brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. Smaller portions, but very good. We finished the evening with some espresso martinis which were the perfect night cap. For social distancing, the restaurant had wood partitions with plexiglass placed around every single table, making for a private dining experience without obstructing any views. The restaurant inside is elegant and the ambiance is immediately very friendly and inviting. Place would have been really good if our waiter was not rushing us so much. We got here quite early and almost noone inside. We took our tine since the 3 of us were talking over many things. They do take good care of you, but now I wonder if because of limited capacity, they are trying to hurry their customers. Well, since noone was there, you figure they would slow down a little. They push for orders to be placed quickly. They are constantly on top of you and we had to constantly interupt our conversation because of the waiters almost badgering to place more orders or to pay quickly. We ordered tuna tartar, scallops, clams oreganotto, 24oz bone in Ribeye which was delicious. It comes on a plate with plenty of juices in it. My other buddy ordered the same steak, black and blue which very little sauce drips from it. Add some truffle creamed spinach, and some fries and we were happy. One thing, they did constantly bring us more water. My friend who is still quite concerned about the pandemic felt at ease in the booth away from everyone. This was my 2nd time eating here and I am still impressed with their food. Lastly, we ordered a tiramisu which was good. Beautiful restaurant. However , what happened is ridiculous. The drinks and appetizers were all good. We were 3 couples. The branzino was fair, the halibut was a little better. Two people proceeded to order steaks that were New York sirloins for $57. The chef told us he had a special on the New York sirloin steaks that were better than the ones on the menu After the chef left we asked the waiter how much special was and he told us it was the same price as the steak on the menu for $57. We received the food and one of the steaks looked pretty small didn't look like a 16 ounce steak so we asked and said for $57 the steak seems to be pretty small and the waiter then told us that the steak is not $57 that it's $265.00. We were outraged!!! The waiter told us it was $57 and he said no it's $265 how do you not tell somebody that the steak is going to cost that much more money than one on the menu so that Chef began to tell us it was a special, okay but I go well that's some special. When an item is so much more money than what the regular priced is on the menu you should tell the customers that's ridiculous and plus the way they gave us the wrong information do yourself a favor don't go there read more
