We had a beautiful Prime Porter House today. The meat was absolutely delicious. The filet side was amazing like butter tender which is rare for fillets. The strip was also perfect. We usually like Wagyu ir dry aged however a Prime Porter house didn't require the dry aging. PL dry ages choice not prime to save money. I forgot to ask if they had Dry Aged prime but can't imagine it getting much better !! CC never disappoints ! read more

The food is okay, though overpriced. I'll be taking my business down the street to Ceriello's instead. I stopped by today for just a few items and paid by credit card. When I got home, I realized I'd been overcharged. It's not about the amount--it's about trust. When I walk into a business, I expect honesty at the register. That's the bare minimum. My son has become quite a chef. He is the guy you see at the supermarket inspecting the meat. Instead of just looking at the color and marbling, he will examine the steaks for texture. You can imagine my surprise when he tells me that the USDA Prime steaks at Costco aren't up to his standards. He convinces me to go check out a dedicated butcher shop. Luckily Center Cuts is close to my house. The inside looks like a deli, except that the displays are full of raw meat. To my surprise, they also carry some "American" Wagyu via Snake River Farms. We recently had some Wagyu from Japan (the kind where you get a certificate with the cow's noseprint and history). There is quite a selection here. The service was excellent, as the butcher made recommendations. We left with a Snake River Farm Wagyu, a regular USDA prime ribeye and a regular ribeye for a blind taste test at home later ... hehehe read more

My other half introduced me to this local butcher shop and I was intrigued that they sell Snake River Farms wagyu so I walked in to see what they have. When I walked in there was a good number of people freshly preparing meals, cutting up slices of meat, taking online orders (and there were plenty) and the manager was taking in person orders. The manager was very nice and kept me entertained while the butcher cooked my burger and fries. I was drawn to the short rib brisket burger which is their popular burger with truffle fries. I had to wait awhile for the order because they want to make and present my food very fresh. It was on the pricey side meaning that the cost was equivalent to eating the same thing at mid range to high end restaurant. When I came home and did the routine handwashing and showering etc...I finally dived into the freshly made dish, which was still impressively hot. The burger was a perfect balance of flavors that melted in mouth. The fries were amazingly crispy. Worth every dime! So glad I came here. Can't wait to return to try more of their hot sandwiches and prepared foods. read more

The deli kitchen closes kind of early so it's best to get there before 2pm. I think my butcher was named Luke and everyone working at the store was friendly. I was able to order two sandwiches and let me tell you- Center Cuts has the best steak and cheese sandwich! The steak and cheese is something you should drive over an hour for and it will be worth it, trust. They also sell a variety of fresh cuts of meats and deli sides. Actually was going for aged rib eyes, my go to butcher for a few years now. But had to get them ordered for pick up tomorrow. But saw the menu and decided to try a few things. Ordered ahead as the menu said 30 - 45 min. Got 2 burgers with cheese and 1 with added bacon, came with lettuce and tomatoes. Was grilled, can definitely taste the char. Asked for medium but got mostly well done with a hint of pink. Overall a good burger. Stringy onions were super crispy even when cold, very good. Truffle fries were okay. The steak tips were really good, perfect medium rare. Would get this again. Buffalo wings was very good but soaked a little too much in the sauce but the sauce was perfect! Had a kick of hot but not too much. Sorry for no pics...too hungry. Forgot. Guys there are always friendly and welcoming. Parking in the back as well as ample street parking. read more

It felt like a great atmosphere. I ordered a cheese, lettuce and tomato sandwich with no meat, it was tasty. The apple crumb pie slice was good, but not great. Perhaps just not to my liking, the crust was good but the apple filling had a flavor I liked but didn't love. This deli is also a 4 min drive from 495 expressway, so it was great to pull over for some real food and not just a McDonalds! Cons: My cheese sandwich cost $10 and there was no meat! I could have gone with either 3 or 4 but went with 4 because of the potential it had. This place could be a 5 if all went the right way. We got the brisket and short rib burger. They forgot the bacon on the burger which was one negative and the burger was cooked way too much. It was charred but still edible because the beef was so good you could tell if cooked right it would be an amazing burger experience. The steak sandwich we got was also over cooked but super flavorful. The sides were great, fries and onion strings. Been here twice, first time was amazing which is why I came back the second time. Second time was a mess. I ordered the BBQ Burger which is said to come with Cheddar cheese, Bacon, and Onions. Only specifications I asked for was no onions and extra bbq sauce. Food came out and took about 15 minutes which was great, the guy looked at it for about 15 seconds and said "perfect" so naturally I just left and thought it was made correctly. Get back to my office to eat it and turns out all I got was a plain burger no cheese, no bbq sauce, just a burger with lettuce and tomato. If I had more time I would've went back but I didn't. On my travels I found a modern Deli, with a idea as effective and old as time, "sell quality meats!" There's a concept that works. When I came in we got off to a bad start, I saw the open sign and was ready to try a sandwich at this Roslyn Heights location. The employee told me they didn't make sandwiches till 9am. I thought "then why are you open?" After leaving and coming back I had the pleasure of meeting Edgar, the Manager, of the store. What a wonderful human being Edgar was. When I ordered a turkey sandwich he recommended that I get the turkey BLT, so I did. While it was being created, we talked and he talked about the meat in the store as if it was his new born son! He offered me samples and I tried the general tao chicken. I fell in love with the taste and quality of the chicken. Edgar said they prepare the meats daily. "We don't sell bad quality here" Edgar said. I was inclined to believe him just off the chicken alone. Finally I was presented a beautiful turkey BLT. It was love at first sight. It was big and heavy, every mans dream sandwich. He also gave me a bag of complimentary chips with my baby. Before I left he gave me more mayo, he knew I would need it. Eating this turkey sandwich somehow was different, I felt guilty. How do you destroy a masterpiece! It was like cutting the Mona Lisa, like taking a sledgehammer to the 16th Chapel, like exposing air to the Declaration of Independence! The turkey was cut off the bird not packaged, the bacon was thick and watery, the tomatoes were fresh and the extra mayo was needed to get this monster down! It was only $9.00 and I feel that it should have cost more! How can you put a price on art. It was hard to eat history but I did it. I regret finishing it because I wanted more. Edgar made a customer for life and a friend. If you're in the area go, see if I'm wrong. So awesome to see a real butcher shop. When that butcher shop also makes delicious prepared food, that is even better. Center Cuts is just that place. The meat is incredible looking from beautiful lamb chops to perfectly marbled steaks. My wife and I ordered meals. I got a brisket and short rib burger and she ordered a veggie burger. My side was truffle fries and hers was grilled vegetables. My burger was very good. Cooked exactly the way I ordered it, medium rare. The fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Her burger, when we got in the car to eat, didn't have a bun. I am not sure if most people order it that way but she didn't so that was a little disappointing. It was delicious so that made up for it. We ordered a few to take home too but that turned out badly. She heated them up the way the gentlemen helping us advised, in the microwave, and she told me it was both soggy and crumbly at the same time. Very weird. Maybe it is only good the day you make it. The food we got and ate right away warrants another trip for lunch. I'm sure this time she will make sure there is a bun. read more

I am reviewing the take out lunch delivery I got recently. It was very good. The onion rings were phenominal. I got a side order and they were like a loaf type onion ring composite. I enjoyed them. I am currently in the Navy and I had visited NY for Veterans Day. My friends were having a bbq so they recommended me to come to center cuts. I was in uniform because I had just finished drilling. When I came inside I was greeted with such hospitality like no other. They treated me with respect. They even gave me a store discount which they didn't have to. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!! I am a returning customer that wasted to make yet another review. My grandfather past away last week and my family needed top scramble together to figure out where we can have food catered from in between funeral sessions. Center cuts made the whole thing seem effortless. By the time we got to our home, Center Cuts had all of the food set up in stenos and ready to plate. There was bread, salads, appetizers and 4 different entrees with tons of sides. Plates, silverware and beverages were all brought in by them as well. Thank God, we have a neighborhood butcher who really cares about their customers!! My grandfather loved Center Cuts I'm sure he would have been very happy with their work.
