When I think of how many people they are stealing from, it honestly makes me sick to my stomach. I took my GMC Sierra in for a few things. Never again. When they give you a quote check on your phone. You'll see. An oil gauge for my truck should run $188-$208. It's a $58 part and the rest is labor. They quoted me $580. You wouldn't believe what they charged me for a simple brake job. Over $3000 with an oil change. ( And I asked them to check two running lights ) They already had the truck for a couple of days before I caught them. The last thing I wanted to do was to have them sabotage my vehicle because I wouldn't pay their outrageous prices. Learned my lesson. My new shrieking brakes can be heard from a mile away & they feel worse. At first, I was puzzled on the prices. I mentioned it to the guy who wrote it up. He agreed it was high. Midway through, I complained to management, & they said that I could get the employee rate and they too agreed my quote was high. I got the call that my truck was ready. The lady said she had the final bill... somewhere around $3000. Not sure what kind of discount I received, guess they rip off employees too. Transmission issues resolved!…read more While driving from Seattle to Los Angeles, our 2016 Forester's Check Engine and ATL Oil Temp lights came on. After getting towed 70 miles back to Kendall Subaru, the problem was diagnosed (along with a thorough overview of some other, less critical issues) on Saturday. The tech stayed late, and came in early on Monday to get us back on the road. I rented one of Kendall's cars for use while ours was in the shop, so we got to enjoy Eugene's restaurants and nearby hiking trails. Dylan, the service writer, was clear and concise on the issue, accepted my deferral of the other issues, and kept me up to date on progress. Nice! Costs for the transmission repair came out precisely on estimate. The diagnostic cost was folded in to the overall charge. While wandering around the showroom, Matt came out, recognized that I had a car being serviced, and showed me a 2025 hybrid Forester - snazzy! Matt was patient, explained Kendall's sales process, and took me out on a test drive. Calm, professional, informative. We bought a new ID4 for my wife and I and a used Chevy Bolt for my daughter from them. On both cars, they added a "Security Registration" $449 fee to the price. They claim this will pay out $5,000 if the car gets stolen. We have insurance and don't need this, but they say it is impossible to remove that charge from the price of the car. Just a cash grab by the dealer. The Bolt we bought had faulty tire pressure monitors and needed and alignment. No problem. If we bought the car (this was on the weekend) Monday someone would call us and they would get it in and have these items taken care of. The very unfriendly F&I guy even had us sign a paper that they owed this work to us. Two weeks later, nobody had contacted us to do this, despite reaching out to them again and getting assurance again that it would be taken care of. The same week our ID4 has a recall, one that VW called me about and urged me to do ASAP. Scheduled an appointment, took it in and the service manager explained it was a software update that could take up to three days. No problem, just get us a loaner and we'll leave it, as this is a car my wife and I share. No loaners are available and after inquiring about when would be a good time to get this recall done when we could get a loaner, I was told there is no good time and loaners are rarely available. So we have to go without getting this important safety recall done... We've enjoyed owning many VWs and Audis in the past but the extra charges, and the poor service department will have us going elsewhere in the future for cars.

After your Toyota vehicle is serviced at a shop it is good practice to verify that the service work…read morerequested was actually done and done correctly. For example, decades ago my 1971 Ford F-100 pickup truck's oil pump failed. An independent shop replaced the oil pump. After driving the truck home I looked underneath the truck to check it out. I was surprised to find that the oil pan mounting bolts were all loose... A more recent example at Eugene's Kendall Toyota for routine maintenance: Oil change, tire rotation, tire pressure check, air and oil filters, etc. The most frequent problem: The tire valve stem caps were not tightened. And after one service visit, one cap was missing. Maybe a loose cap fell off on the way home. A more serious problem was over-filling the crankcase with oil. See the first photo. As shown, the oil level was above the dipstick "full" mark (right side in the photo), estimated at 3/8-qt high. As shown in the 2nd photo, I used a Mighty-Vac hand vacuum pump with about 2 feet of small white plastic tubing to suck the excess oil out, via the dipstick tubing, into the plastic container shown in the photo. The white tubing was inserted into the dip stick tubing as far down as it would go, then the excess oil was sucked out with the Mighty-Vac pump. Then there's the tire TPWS synchronization problems with a 5-tire rotation. Yes, I have five full size tires all with TPWS sensors. That took three visits to Kendall to get them up to speed on how to do a 5-tire rotation so that the TPWS works properly without error codes. Given the above, I now check the oil level dip stick, the tire valve stem caps and the TPWS before I drive away from the shop.

After paying over $25,000…read morefor the truck, within 8 days, the truck was in their shop for approximately 3-4 months due to complete mechanical failure (including throttle control and fuel system components). Completely inoperable. Supposedly there was an "extensive inspection" on this truck, even though it broke down completely 8 days after I bought it, and it had to be trailed back to Kendall Ford of Eugene. While in the shop for nearly 4 months, numerous parts were replaced to include the high pressure fuel pump, the air filter, the air intake, and turbo flanges. But they never corrected the original issue and it had to be sent to multiple dealerships to even become functional again. 8 days after I bought it. Less than 2 years later, the same issue is still prevalent and worsening (electronic throttle control + DPF failure). I contacted the dealership to resolve this directly, and the only solution offered was to trade the vehicle in at a significantly reduced value (worth almost nothing, as it is once again, not functional) with no acknowledgment of the recurring issue despite numerous service records. I will never go back here for any reason. They value their dollar over you, and aren't shy about it. Even knowing I was a veteran coming off a serious car accident didn't stop them from selling me a vehicle that broke within 8 day of purchase. Do you really think they care more about you? Gotta say- if you're looking for a perfect car right off the lot, this kind of lot isn't what you need. They turn over the cars quickly and are selling cars as is- which is what most used car lots will do. Take it in to be inspected, and plan to dish out a bit to get the cars running in great shape. Complaining about a well used car you didn't go get inspected before purchasing is silly. My only complaint is that they could do a better job with the cleaning detailing, but even that isn't a big deal.

Comparing it to my dealership experience from where I used to live, I found them to be needing some improvements with: 1) Streamlining the intake experience. It wasn't just me. There was another customer that was waiting inside the inner driveway area for personnel to come out. I was early so I waited about 10 minutes and then I went inside. The check in person did apologize but I'm still not sure if I was supposed to come inside or wait. There should be signs since it's not an intuitive process. And like I say, the other customer was confused too. 2) The music in the waiting area was way too loud. I could not concentrate, even with my earbuds in to block out the sound. I asked nicely if they could turn it down but it didn't happen while I was there. 3) I just felt like an annoyance really. Nothing particularly friendly happening here. I don't want to go back there. I think my next car will be a Toyota so I don't have two meh Kia dealerships to choose from and I can just stick with my mechanic that specializes in Toyota. I did like the video they sent me and the text communications. The lobby was a good space and I appreciated the tables where people could work and plug their devices in.

My car only came with one key fob and they are over a hundred dollars each for a second one, repairs were not completed despite being told the car was ready for pick up, there was no communication during the inspection, there was misrepresentation of warranty costs & options by the sales associate, and so on. When Sales Manager Randy was made aware of my concerns, he took accountability and action to correct the issues to the best of his ability. If after reading the reviews you still decide to car shop here, make sure you connect with a sales person who has been on the job at Kia for a bit, has some knowledge of the products and inventory available, doesn't use their personal devices to store sales related identifying information, and doesn't outright lie to you. If you made it this far and opt to buy a car here, I worked with Finance Manager Tanner who was easy to work with and helpful when coordinating payments, making corrections to paperwork, understanding warranty info, and tacking on a warranty to my purchase prior to taking possession of the vehicle. Make sure you ask questions & get answers to your satisfaction, read the paperwork thoroughly, if they promise to correct an issue on the car, make sure it's added to the "we owe" statement in your contract, and if something is not right, say something.
