First, let me say we moved here from Florida and were Roth's Chris fans. Our waiter Kevin knew how we liked everything. The calamari app with no tentacles, the Wedge salad with nothing but Iceberg, bacon and chopped egg, and 1,000 Island dressing, to our steaks always perfectly cooked, on a regular plate, not a 400 degree one. So we were hopeful when we went to Phryme. Our waiter was, and will always be, Joel. If he ever finds decaf we may be in trouble. His recommendations were spot on, the scallops and pork belly, to the Porterhouse with a half lobster tail each. I must be honest, my carrot cake was better than the chocolate pie. I can't justify spending over $50 for an ala carte steak dinner, however, Prhyme has an excellent bar menu, that becomes even more excellent on Mondays and Tuesdays when everything is half priced. This means that you can get an 8oz steak and frites for a little over $12. Not bad at all. The real deal though are the burgers. Wife and I got 2 burgers and the total was under $12. These are 1/2 pound burgers cooked to order. I had the one with blue cheese, mushrooms and an onion ring it was great. Meat was flavorful, burger was cooked perfectly to medium rare. The burger comes with a substantial amount for french fries, which too are cooked perfectly. Only problem is the bar area is small and people are apparently finding out about this deal, because the place was packed at 6:30. read more

Such an amazing experience. Zach lead us through all the offerings and helped pick out a great wine based on what we had said we liked. I got the salmon and my boyfriend got a 12 oz steak and added smashed potatoes. Both main courses were out of this world amazing. I thought the potatoes were good but nothing in comparison to the main courses. My boyfriend said he liked them to help cleanse his palate between bites of steak. We both finished our meal and had room for dessert. Again Zach helped us pick out a great dessert (the chocolate pie) and a great port for me and brandy for my boyfriend. Toss-up between 4 and 5 stars..... It is nice to have a quality place downtown with style. The atmosphere is rich yet comfortable. The service was spot on. Met by a nice lady dressed in a sharp gray shirt with white blouse. The guys had suits and yellow ties. Nice touch. STEAKS--you get to choose between 3 types of steaks---- Grass fed 21 day wet aged Prime or 40 day aged dry aged prime. We chose the wet aged rib eye and the dry aged rib eye to compare. As I knew ahead, the dry aged wins easily. Both steaks were cooked as order and had a nice taste. They did not have the char that I am used to and prefer. They had grill marks but it was for appearance rather than flavor. I enjoyed the steak very much but the lack of a nice char is the difference between 4 and 5 stars. They have a Veal loin chop which we don't see on the menu often and am anxious to try it. Caesar salad was very well done. Crisp well chilled romaine and a freshly prepared dressing. The Butter lettuce salad is unique. Roasted corn, sweet potato, red bell pepper, sherry vinaigrette, black pepper honey and roasted almonds. A nice crunch and a lite touch with the dressing made this a pleasant surprise. The sweet corn maque choux is good enough to make a meal itself and the garlic smashed red potatoes were simple but a perfect complement to the meal. Our waitress convinced me to try the chocolate pie-not normally my favorite- but she was spot on. It was flavor packed, and well composed. The creme brulee with macerated berries was one of the best I've tasted. Then I asked for Frangelico coffee. It came in an elegant white ceramic French press pot and was composed table side. Perfect finish to the meal AND, pricing is fair on the wines. It appears to be one of the lowest markups I have seen on his better wines. Had the Hillside Select and it was $200 less than what I normally see it listed. Same for several other wines. This is an elegant place with unusual offerings which are expertly prepared. The Monday and Tuesday bar special has got to be one of the best deals in Tulsa. 1/2 off all day?! Yes, please. I've been twice and am determined to go back and try everything, especially since the prices are so affordable. Things tried during the past 2 visits....: - Fried Mac N' Cheese: Sounds amazing on the menu, but I was disappointed. Not very much flavor despite the "spicy mac sauce." The fried sage was delicious though. - Blackened Ahi Tuna: Meh. It was okay. Wouldn't order again. - Fried Escargots: I was surprised at how big the snail pieces were. Actually wasn't too bad with the herbed lemon aioli. Tasted like fried clams or oysters. Just keep telling yourself that while you're eating them. - Bleu Mac Frites: Can you mess up loaded french fries? This has been my fave appetizer so far. - Bleu Burger: Meat so tender. Burger bun so soft. Everything went together amazinglyyyyy. So, so good. - Prime Steak Frites: Also delicious and $13 for a super tender 8 oz NY strip?! How can you beat that? - Southwest Burger: Eh. Good, but not as southwestern-y taste as I would have liked. Wish it came with more haystack onions! Also, the chocolate sticks you get by the register on the way out = SO GOOD. They're basically Andes mints in stick form. Service has been awesome both times in the bar area. The hostesses have been kind of awkward though. Be prepared to wait! We really enjoyed our experience at this steakhouse. We were in town the night before a concert we were attending. We started with a crab cake app which was good two decent size crab cakes good flavor. Then for our entrees my wife had the petite grass fed filet. The petite 6 oz filet's come with a side. Hers had sautéed root vegetables. I got the 12 oz prime filet Oscar style. Adding oscar gave me five pieces of asparagus and then a small portion of jumbo lump crab meat on top. It was pretty delicious and we ordered a half an order of Au gratin potato's which were also really good. The half portions are a great size for two and it was plenty of food to more than fill us up. The steaks were baseball cut very thick and I was amazed my steak was cooked pretty much perfect throughout. I prefer mine a solid medium anything rare I don't like. So usually I have to give portions of my steak to my wife, steaks this thick the middle is typically rare. So pretty amazing job cooking it. They also have a very Interesting old fashioned it's made with root beer bitters. A very unique twist on traditional old fashioned and rather tasty. We wouldn't hesitate to come back here when in town again. read more

Wow, Prhyme Downtown Steakhouse is a true upscale, Tulsa dining treasure. We went in on a Thursday evening and the bar itself was active with well-dressed young professionals. We ended up grabbing a table in the bar area for pre-dinner drinks. I definitely recommend the Bourbon Root Beer. I enjoyed how strong it was, yet it had a sweet, root beerish after taste. Moving to our dinner table, I got more of a feel for the vibe and decor. It has a very classic and simple atmosphere, with a dash of elegance. Its really comfortable. I won't get into specifics, but just trust me when I say the service was outstanding. Our server followed us from the bar area to our main table and he was really great - consistent, caring, and had a real understanding of the menu. I ordered the Stuffed Double Breast of Chicken and it was extremely savory and hardy. I loved the neufchatel cheese with which it was stuffed. The only downside is that it didn't come with any sides, which hey, I get, fancy restaurant. But order a side, because their mac n' cheese is dope. To be honest, I was a bit skeptical because of the spelling of "Prhyme"... maybe there's a significance, I don't know, but its kind of silly. Overall, I was impressed that the dining experience in the bar area was so attentive! Will recommend Phryme to friends! My waiter was helpful with recommendations - in that, he actually voiced preferences and helped me decide on my orders (pet peeve when wait staff recommend the entire menu - that's just not helpful!). For my main dish, I had a petite filet prepared medium on a bed of sweet potato risotto and corn. Medium preparation of my filet was perfect - not a tad over or under-cooked. Reddish in the middle and very savory. No need for steak sauce. The risotto was perfectly textured and very flavorful as well. Really good but really pricey. Heck you get what you pay for. The steak come in 3 varieties - prime, grass fed and aged. All are wonderful but for a 1st visit stick with the prime. Super flavorful and tender, you don't even need a knife. Everything is al carte, the soups are very taste and the salads have a good composition with a good mixture of complementary tastes. The dinner sides are good but are intended to be shared, very difficult if you are eating alone. The neighborhood is just ok, not well matched for this calibre of establishment. We came here to celebrate my husband being cancer free and I chose this restaurant based on reviews and also friends who had been here and raved about the steaks. Complimentary valet to start. We had a reservation on a Friday night and we were seated immediately at 7:30pm. My husband and I both ordered a class of wine and the caesar salad. The salad could've been better, it definitely wasn't the best caesar we had ever had. We both ordered the Mixed Grill. I had the filet, shrimp, and scallops and both the filet and the scallops were the best I have ever had. The filet was ordered medium rare and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It melted in my mouth and could've been cut with a butter knife. The scallops were exactly the same. Delicious!! My husband had the same - Mixed Grill, but he had his with Filet, salmon, and shrimp. The salmon was cooked perfectly as well was the filet, juicy medium rare. Neither of us were too impressed with the shrimp and would try something else with the Mixed Grill next time. We had a half order of au gratin potatoes which were good, not the best, but a nice addition to the Mixed grill. Our server was wonderful and attentive. While we enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere, there are other places in Tulsa we felt were just as good and offered the same great service but weren't as pricey. And like I said, when you're doing everything perfectly you are probably going to and should charge for it. The drink menu is vast. The service is wonderful. The decor is warm and open. But let's get to the food. I had the petite filet and oh my god - it has ruined me for any future steak. It melted in my mouth. I was quite impressed with my experience at Phryme. I really didn't know what to expect as I thought that it may have been overrated. Boy, was I wrong. The ambiance, service, and food were all excellent. The asparagus with fried egg and guyere cheese was so good as were the chop salad and potatoes gratin. The real star though was the grass fed tenderloin. Perfectly prepared and melted in my mouth. I was quite impressed. Did I mention the service? If possible I would give 3.5 stars Great location. Complimentary valet. Friendly staff. Cozy atmosphere and great for a date night with your significant other. Drinks from the bar were very tasty. Good selection of whiskeys and wine, and i was pleased to see correct glassware with each drink. Salad was good, but not quite enough "tang" in the Caesar. Anchovies were a nice and authentic touch. Bread selection was adequate. Meal took a LONG time to arrive from the kitchen. When it finally made it the potatoes were cold and the steak was undercooked. Because I was 1) late arriving and 2) had to make a show at 730 I did not mention the meal quality. My steak was fine, and the meal mentioned was that of my date. I think this is a nice place to go, but there are better options in Tulsa when you have the time. For the price, it should be much better. read more

Honored our 6:30 reservation before the concert at BOK. We had two medium rare and two medium and the Steaks were cooked perfect! I had foie gras an appetizer and it delicious but pricey, $22. We also had the grilled asparagus that came with a fried egg on top, unique presentation it was delicious. No atmosphere here and tables just a little too close or this place could be a five! I was visiting with my boyfriend from LA and we met a friend here for late happy hr (so this review isn't for the full restaurant experience). Prhyme was definitely the nicest restaurant I went to during my trip. The server was nice and professional. although we only ordered the Mac n cheese balls and loaded fries (I believe?) they were both good! Our friend got the only steak on their happy hr menu and the meat was really tender. Cocktails and were also yummy! They had my one of my boyfriends fav beers there (organic chocolate stout) which was a surprise because I have never seen it at a restaurant. Haven't been here in a while, but as we were attending an event at the Woody Guthrie Center at 6:00, we remembered Prhyme's Happy Hour bar menu with drink specials and 1/2 price apps and entrees, and just a short walk away. We got there at 4:30 (They open at 4:00) and had no trouble finding street parking. As always, staff has a smile on their face and allowed us to pick a booth in the bar. It's not a large bar but is nicely laid out and the service was impeccable. My wife and I had the Prhyme Burger ($7.50) which comes with bacon and fries. It was cooked to medium rare as we ordered. She had the Salard Cheverny Sauvignon Blanc ($11) and I had a Dead Armadillo Amber ($6). We went to Prhyme on a Saturday night before the George Strait concert. Mother-Daughter date. Reading the other reviews, a Monday night would have been better because of the half off bar menu but unfortunately we didn't have too much time in Tulsa. We had the roasted king crab legs as an appetizer. Flavor was good, but $35 for 4 half legs is a bit steep. We then had the petit filet, potato gratin and the pan seared Halibut and rock shrimp. The filet was outstanding! We added a blue cheese crust & crispy onions. The picture doesn't do it justice. The potato gratin was very good and my halibut was also great. Cooked to perfection. The rock shrimp unfortunately weren't rock shrimp but just regular shrimp. So either somebody sold them rock shrimp and they don't know what they are or they're trying to sell them off as rock shrimp. Anybody who's ever had them could tell the difference to regular shrimp. And especially coming from Florida that wasn't difficult. Service however was outstanding. So all in all it was a good dinner. Would it be first on my list next time I visit Tulsa? No. Price and shrimp are costing a star each. read more

We came to prhyme with a big group of friends to celebrate. We all ordered the most expensive cut of meat they had on the meal. AK rated. With the seafood topping and sides. The meat was absolutely terrible. Tough and did not have good flavor. The service was good. The seafood topping looked like it had been frozen and watered down on the plate. My guess is between everyone in our party we spent around 1,000 dollars that night for subpar food. read more

However I ordered the NY Strip and it was pretty tough and pretty undercooked. I ordered medium and it was more rare/medium rare. When we asked our Lyft driver if Prhyme Steakhouse was any good, he answered he had heard it was overpriced. Unfortunately, he was exactly right. The onion rings were terrible and that is not an exaggeration. We're 99.9% sure they were frozen... come on. House steaksauce they were served with was comparable to a cheap bottled barbecue sauce. Only thing we could taste was clove. Thankfully our steaks were quality and cooked right. Mashed potatoes were good, while the green beans were okay. The shrimp that I ordered with my surf and turf were over cooked, tough and way too salty. Honestly, there's nothing top notch about this place including the tacky decor. It's like they're trying to reach, but just not hitting the mark. Not from the area, so can't suggest a better steakhouse, but have heard that Mahogany is good. read more

Didn't care for the fried escargot I'd rather them be baked but I can't knock it down just because my palette prefers escargots cooked differently. My friend and I just weren't that impressed with their Mac and cheese, it was just a bit bland. Heavy breadcrumbs and needed salt and flavor. But...the wine options and everything else, superb! The restaurant is elegant and upscale...the bar is elegant, upscale, and a bargain on Mondays & Tuesdays! We dined at PRHYME a few years ago when they participated in a charity event, and have always meant to go back. The shrimp cocktail has always remained at the back of my mind, as it was both delicious and the presentation was just so unique...a generous bowl of cocktail sauce with shrimp arranged around the rim. Little things like that are what can take a restaurant from good to memorable. We finally went back to check out the 1/2 price bar menu, offered Monday and Tuesday nights. Meatloaf, a french dip, street tacos, ahi tacos are just a few of the items offered up on the bar menu. Rotating selections of red wine are also available at $6 a glass. I'm not sure what I had, but it was really good. It was a great accompaniment to the french dip. I tried the meatloaf as well, and if I go back it'll be hard to decide between that and the french dip next time. We also started with the shrimp cocktail from the regular menu (also available in the bar) and it was as good as remembered. The main dining room is excellent, but PRHYME has given itself some stiff competition with their bar selections. They are worth the price whether you go on Monday/Tuesday or not. The service was excellent as well...we had several different people checking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. read more

Thanks to the guys behind the bar I had a really nice birthday dinner by myself. They were attentive and personable, letting me taste some wines and whiskeys while waiting for my beef tartar. They were sympathetic to my barbarianism when I chopped thru a thick Caesar salad served up on a tiny plate and topped with a Parmesan cheese hat. The off the menu specials were recited and I chose the scallops and lobster claws. Yum, glad I did, it went perfect with the white wine I selected. I was treated to a birthday dessert, I chose the creme brûlée and ate the entire thing with the berries and tossing back the last of the wine only to finish off with the Japanese coffee whiskey.
