I'm pretty sure Tulsa, Oklahoma is not known as a foodie town but after two meals here, we're batting a solid 800. We opted for this Irish themed pub last night for dinner, and can't say enough about the service, food and atmosphere. McNellie's (sounds Irish, right?) is located on one of the seemingly lonely streets near downtown, and came highly recommended by our hotel barista. The ambiance is definitely Irish-pub--dark wood, old wooden floors and walls of exposed brick--definitely a cool sanctuary from the oppressive summer heat and humidity. And what better way to quench your thirst and beer curiosity than choosing from hundreds of beers both on tap and bottled. For the local beer enthusiasts there is a Centennial club which rewards frequent imbibers with gifts leading up to the coveted pottery mug! Our server, McKayla--was delightful. She definitely enjoyed serving us, and offered recommendations good service and conversation. The summer salad caught my wife's eye, and she enjoyed the fresh mix of roasted pistachios, cheese, watermelon and mango. I jumped at the fish and chips, which I can honesty was the best I've ever had--topping what we had years ago at an English pub by a mile. McNellie's fish portion was large, and the batter was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I was a little surprised with the small portion of chips (fries), as most establishments seem give you lot, but I guess I was thankful in a way. With some beer left in our glasses, we decided to order a plate of fries (white and sweet) for desert! If you like beer and good Irish comfort food, McNellie's is a sure bet! read more

went to the downtown location for dinner. good food, generous portions. my waitess was very good, courteous, thoughtful, professional, and checked often to see if was ok or needed anything. also, in the past, they had given me free slice of cake, cause it was my birthday. since, went in again near my birthday, asked if they still offered free slice of cake for birthday, even though it was not the same day, as my actual birthday, they said they still did. so was able to enjoy a free slice of their delicious carrot cake. also just cause it was free, might think they would be stingy about the free slice of cake. not at all, I was pleasently surprised the slice was huge, so had to get a to-go box to take it home. also the waitress herself, and several other employees were very kind and went out of their way to wish me a happy birthday. that was very thoughtful, and special of them to do that. 11 years in the game with visiting McNellie's. From Burger Night to First Friday to late night visits... It's been very consistent with everything I've order & with customer service. From a recent visit on Valentine's Day due to a spot having their kitchen close early (my pops was performing across the street so when they were done, we came over here), I'm glad we ended up eating here. We came in, got greeted instantly & even got a table the moment after we got greeted. I find it wild that we usually get seated by the stairs in the middle, not in a bad way, I really like that table & we end up there a majority of the time when it's just us two. I wish I remembered our server's name, she did an excellent job. I went with the Whiskey Burger & it was incredible. The wait on the food didn't take long at all. The whiskey chipotle BBQ sauce stole the show. The burger was perfect. The sweet potato fries went well with the burger, I got honey mustard as my dipping sauce. I was so hungry that I ran through my whole plate in a snap of a finger. I enjoyed that night, no complaints whatsoever. Side Note: The Olympics were going on & Curling was on the television on my right. I have been to McNellie's multiple times, but the most recent time was for dessert. Last night, I arrived around 11:00 for a quick dessert and was promptly seated. Since it's open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, there was no rush in getting through dessert. There are only two choices on the menu for dessert: carrot cake and a brownie. I chose the carrot cake. The $9 slice was massive. Despite being fairly hungry, there was no way I was making it through the entire slice. With carrot slices on the side of the cake, cream cheese frosting throughout it, and walnuts on top, it was delectable and filling. I had leftovers after I was done and left with a to-go box. While McNellie's isn't known for its dessert, I had a great experience and will return for another slice of carrot cake. read more

Stopped in for dinner and a drink. Sat outside at the bar since the weather was perfect. They have a few TVs for games and plenty of outdoor seating. The inside bar looked very nice but it was packed. No seats. The menu was decent and I settled on a burger. It was good. The sweet potato fries needed a little longer in the fryer but still good. The Old Fashioned was tasty. Overall a nice place to stop downtown for a drink a burger maybe before a drillers game. read more

Tulsa staple. Honestly they have the best patio in town here. I've enjoyed it numerous times and it was fun introducing my husband to it recently. Wednesday night burger night is a hell of a deal and one we like to take advantage of. If you are much of a drinker, they have a solid selection on tap, bottles, canned, and mixed drinks. Great burgers and great service! We were able to sit out on the patio and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Our waitress was prompt and helpful. I had the whiskey burger and it was cooked perfectly with super crispy onion strings and a smoky savory bbq sauce. There is also more to this place than meets the eye, upstairs has a tavern with a half-restaurant half-pool hall atmosphere. A little more lively for a seated option if you are not able to sit outside. read more

Great late lunch here. My clients at The Williams Cos used to bring me here when I was in town. Came to Tulsa for McCartney so brought my wife. Fish and chips were outstanding. Fries truly excellent. Our go-to pub when visiting Tulsa - great Irish pub ambiance, always a good experience. Fast, friendly service, with inside/outside seating options, or sit at the bar. Solid beer selection for beer nerds, and a great pub style selection of food. Got the "Cajun style" meatloaf this time, good belly fodder to go with a tasty pint. Lots of flavour baked in (no pun intended), but not spicy hot (for those worried about too much pepper). Reminded me of some tasty Indian dishes that aren't overwhelmed with hot chiles. Saturday was a beautiful day to eat outside. McNellies was crazy busy, happy to see them being successful! Waited about 10-15 mins for an outside table. Loved the outdoor eating area. There is a large outside covered bar area I hadn't noticed before when I have run by with TV screens playing sporting events. I had the Mediterranean Plate with salmon (usually comes with grilled chicken but I upgraded to salmon for I think $5 more.) Very yummy and little lighter fare with tabouli and hummus. Husband had the reuben sandwich with fries. It was stuffed with meat and cheese, worth the calories. Lengthy list of beers on tap or in the bottle or can. Huge Irish pub with the traditional indoor vibe and a chill outdoor patio. Any Irish pub should have a great fish and chips and know hot to pour a good Guinness. The Guinness is great but the fish and chips are mediocre. $5 burger night on Wednesday is a great deal for a decent burger but it seems like they do so much volume that forget about having it cooked to temperature or your cheese melted. With that said McNeills has a good fun vibe but if you're looking for quality Irish fair you're better off going to a smaller, family run place. It's St Patrick's weekend and lots of streets are closed downtown so parking and walking, Uber/Lyft and getting dropping off is ideal. We were lucky and got a table right away even though they were busy mid afternoon. The Rueben was good and the Russian dressing added a nice flavor. The fries were good with the right amount of crunch and not salty. My friend enjoyed her burger. My drink was good and the beer went down well. The mashed potatoes here are so good, and the service was amazing. We mistakenly stayed passed closing but they were so gracious - and sweet. The ambiance is like pub-esque so no need to dress up or anything. I also love how the bathrooms don't have the doors where you can see through the cracks, great bathrooms. 10/10 service this time! read more

Amazing beer list! Fantastic vegan options! Great service! We arrived probably 30 minutes before closing (10pm) and we were welcomed the same as if we arrived early. I was worried they would be really irritated that we arrived late & we planned on ordering food. And, my friend has celiac & asked about the cottage pie if it has gluten & our waitress was very nice & seemed really knowledgeable about the menu. I got the beyond meat brats & they were so good! My husband got wings & my friend got the cottage pie, oh, & her husband got the blackened chicken? on Mac & cheese & that looked sooo good. Fun pub with extensive bar. Noise level medium and not a great spot for kids but perfect for unwinding after work. Enjoyed their strawberry spinach salad and a beer. My wife had the Smokehouse Burger and nothing but good things to say about it. Yes, there are 300+ beers here. I tried the Coop F5 IPA (named after a tornado!) and the Stonecloud Chug Norris - hazy like an IPA but the IBU's are low so not as IPA-y as the F5. Yes, the service was spot on. Bailey was awesome, knew the menu, knew the beers, knew the surrounding area. Yes, it's an Irish Pub and feels like its been here for 100 years. One of the best meals in Tulsa so far! (We are here visiting.) Thoroughly impressed with the beer menu; Bailey our server knew all the good ones and made great recommendations. Hubby had two different beers: the Coop F5 IPA and the Stonecloud Chug Norris. He liked them both. I went with their crazy Guava sour beer from Prairie and LOVED IT. We started with the pulled pork nachos and they were good. We moved on to the main course and hubby had the Rueben. I'm a little shocked to share that my husband (BORN IN NEW YORK) said this was the best Rueben he'd ever had! Like wow. He said the meat was incredible. He paired it with sweet potato fries.
