Arnies is one of my favorite bars in the Blue Dome District. We came down for St Patrick's weekend so lots of the streets in the area are closed so it's best to Lyft/Uber, get dropped off or find parking further out and walk in. You can smoke here both inside or on the patio. The shuffle board is fun. The service is quick, no food options, it's a fun chill place to come and hang out and have a drink or two. read more

This place has the best patio! Definitely one of my favorite places to spend an evening downtown. The fireplace and wisteria canopy provide incredible ambiance and the high stucco walls, Guinness mural and landscaping make this place an absolute hidden gem. The pub itself is rustic, with some really cool artifacts that make it seem authentic in the way that you could totally see yourself walking into a place just like this in Ireland. Everyone is always super friendly and down to earth. It's a pub, so you don't expect froofy cocktails, yet they actually make really good drinks and don't skimp on their pours. The owners are hands on and do a lot for downtown. If you haven't checked out their St Patrick's celebration you should. Great live music and some of the best food trucks. This place is a Tulsa treasure. And, like the blue dome nestled next door, a solidified piece of Tulsa history. read more

If a dive bar had a favorite dive bar, this would be it. The place reeks of character and characters. When I walked in, the bouncer asked to see my ID. When he saw I had traveled from the northeast all the way to Tulsa, he was genuinely happy about it. He called out a guy's name and told him to come up to the front and said "We caught another one of you, so can we throw you back in the water?" Everyone had a great laugh. Great start! This might be normal in these parts, but I was astonished when I got an ashtray when I ordered my beer. This sort of thing hasn't been seen where I live in over 20 years. I felt like I had traveled back in time. I don't smoke, but I loved it. While the decor seems haphazard, that is kinda the point. But if you look close enough, there's thought to how they space things out. The service is friendly, the staff is fun, the music is great, and everyone is there to relax and have something to drink and a few laughs. So refreshing. Bottom's up, gang. read more

I'm really glad we stopped into Arnie's while visiting Tulsa. The location is perfect, right spank in Tulsa Downtown's Blue Dome District as literally every other review here has mentioned. There are a bunch of other bars/breweries nearby if you're in a crawl mood. Scooters help with transportation to essentially anywhere remotely in the vicinity. Hardcore dive bar vibes. The bar is dimly lit with quirky ornamentation. The bartender is personable. We went to the back room initially to enjoy our beverages and another patron who was playing darts invited us to join. We declined but overhearing his reactions to his solitary match was amusing. Ultimately the AC was on blast back there and we relocated to the garden area outside. There were several parties sitting around the tables outside, enjoying the evening. I received a compliment for my elephant pants. After placing our order btw we were handed an ash tray and my Northeast-ass was immediately teleported to either the 1950s or a developing country. I don't think smoking has been allowed in our prissy, health-conscious part of the country since I was old enough to go to places where alcohol is served with my parents. I'm 31. It was an interesting experience, and I mean that in a good way. I highly recommend paying Arnie's a visit if you're in the area. read more

Terrible service. Allowed a large group of us to come in at 1:20 am under the assumption they would be open until 2. After spending $50 on drinks our group was informed the bar was immediately closing (1:35 am) and we would not be able to finish our drinks. Owner and bar staff became hostile when we complained. 4 of us (two white, two black) walked in and sat down at a table inside near the bar on a late afternoon. We got a few weird looks from the clientele in there, as well as the bartender. No one approached or greeted us. We sat there for about 4 or 5 minutes and left. It was obvious we weren't welcomed. Really like this place. Would have given 5 stars but the smoking is so overwhelming! I went home smelling like smoke. For someone that doesn't smoke this is not good. I realize OK is okay with smoking indoors, but WOW! The bar staff was attentive and remembered your last order which was nice. I am from TX and at bars they swipe your card and put 20% on it if you walk your tab. They swiped my card and gave it back, but I forgot to close my tab due to never doing so. I called the establishment and the actually answered the phone. Bonus!! Told them I forgot to close the tab and asked them to put 25% on the tab for the inconvenience. I checked my statement the next day and they closed my tab with just the standard 20%. Really top notch service I will be back! read more

Arnie's is such a great bar in the historic Blue Dome district in downtown Tulsa! We've gone for years, but stopped by recently to check out the remodeled back room. WOW! They have done a fantastic job of keeping the relaxed vibe, but also making sure that they enhanced the experience. The patio is also always a great choice when the weather is nice. I love how they've redone the fire place area but kept the cozy atmosphere. You can't beat the service, prices and ambiance of this local gem! read more

I have been in this bar probably 3 times over the years and each time had issues with service. It seems like if you are not a regular or they just don't like the look of you, they will not wait on you. A female Freud. Had same issue with some friend's from California she literally had to walk up to the bar and say can you wait on us please. Arnie's was so cool that I ended up there 3 times in 10 hours! I first went there at around 3pm to have a beverage while wandering around downtown Tulsa. It was the 1st place bar I passed after leaving the hotel. I had a great bartender and met a regular that knows a friend of mine in Green Bay - small world. I came back to Arnie's at about 9pm after dinner. The crowd was larger and younger and I sat next to a guy that was telling the world that he was selling everything he owned and was off to see America. I then left for a while but I never found anything better than Arnie's, so I found my way back for a final call beverage. great intimate and divey atmosphere, awesome bartenders, shuffleboard and patio. It's the real deal and seems to attract a great authentic mix of people. I'll be back, so save me a stool. read more

Stopped by here for a nightcap my last night in Tulsa. This bar is pretty cool...it's an old style Irish Pub. I love the old school feeling of it. There are a few bars around the area, but on this night (Tue), this bar was the busiest. The front bar is kind of small and was tight to move around. The full length shuffleboard makes it kind of difficult to get around the tables when it's packed. There's several areas....a patio, rear dining room, front bar.....not sure if there was anything else, but those areas were open the night I was there. I parked myself in the front bar at a table and enjoyed a locally brewed Marshall IPA.....very good beer. I was only able to have one beer though as I had to get up early to check out and catch a plane back home. Will I return? Next time I'm in Tulsa, you bet! read more

I love Arnie's because it has all the elements of a great dive bar--it's a tight fit, people are smoking and playing pool, and there are great bartenders serving up good drinks in the dimly-lit place. You have to know what you're going in to when you decide to go to Arnie's--you will leave smelling like smoke, you will probably have to wait in line for the bathroom, especially if you're a girl, and you will probably be pushing through crowds all night getting back and forth to the bar. That being said, Arnie's is always a good place to have a good time, play some games and is especially fun during downtown festivals like Mayfest, St. Patty's Day and Tulsa Tough. Overall, a great pup/dive bar experience. read more

Does anybody remember the original Arnies on Fifteenth Street anymore? Now there was a real dive bar! A beer joint, with a great shuffleboard, year round Xmas lights, and Arnie the talky owner pouring drafts. I spent many a happy hour there in the 1970s, but I have never been to the one downtown. There is nothing fancy about this establishment, and that is why I love it. When I walk in I feel comfort already in the small intimate feel of the initial room. They've got bar seating, small pub tables, a booth and shuffleboard. Welcoming chatty staff which I love. There is a room in the back with more things to do, places to sit as well as an outside area. It is right in the heart of the blue dome district. Dark, somewhat quiet and somewhere I'd actually like for a date, but I'm a pretty casual gal. If you come in here more than once a week, they'll probably have your drink memorized by that point. It is smoking inside so keep that in mind, and if you run out, they sell cigarettes out of the bar, just gotta ask. The beer selection isn't huge but they've got something to pretty much suit anyone's needs and I like/appreciate that immensely. Plenty of liquor too. ;) Cheers. read more

Classic Irish local in downtown Tulsa. I experienced Arnie's on a night out with old friends while visiting Tulsa. We had quite a few pints behind us already (from McNellie's), but my friends insisted that I had to have at least one more at Arnie's. I'm glad we did. Arnie's Bar reminds me of the true, working-class Irish pubs where locals get together after a long day and nary a tourist is found. It may not be pretty, but by God it has soul. Five stars for being a Tulsa institution. The original was on Cherry street but the "new" location is even better. The original used to be an alley--literally. It was about ten feet wide and fifty feet long, the dust on the wall clutter was an inch thick and the urinal was an industrial sink at knee level. It had it's charm, but the new location is larger and airier with outdoor seating. The multi-day St. Pat's party is legendary. read more

Arnies is one of if not the oldest bar in Tulsa. Great place where EVERYONE is accepted! Everything from the suits getting off work to randoms getting off the Greyhound bus. Friendly staff and live music. Has shuffle board and darts. Also has a great seatting area outside. Small, shotgun style and can get smokey. read more

I'm from out of town, so I don't know if it's at all a typical Tulsa experience for a middle aged stranger to tell you that history will show that the current president was a genius, and that he distrusts most professors because they're too idealistic and they depend too much on books. But the guy bought me a drink, and talking to strangers is what bars are all about, right? For a small place there's actually a good selection of beers (30+), with specials such as $1 Killians on Saturdays. There may be more microbes living indoors than out, and I recommend the beautiful tree-filled patio. read more

We had a huge group come in after a wedding and we were all very nice tippers and instead of doing last call the employee let us order drinks and then literally kicked us out of the bar. He told us we needed to leave so we got up and started saying bye to people and he literally said we could go outside and say our goodbyes. Came here on a Wednesday night with a couple of friends. Even though it still feels like 100 degrees after dark we decided to sit on the patio. This sums up our experience. I read the special board informing us that "Man Cans" were only $3. Me to the bartender, "What's a Man Can?" Bartender pulling out a huge 24 oz Coors Light, "This." Me, "We'll take three!" Kicked all of us out 15 minutes early for basically giving him money. What a tool. Definitely has a poor business sense to realize that opportunity amongst a great crowd of happy people here to have fun in a very controlled way yet decides to get rid of us early. Plus, let's not forget the rude comments toward us to get us out the door. Again, the only profit this place made that night by a mile. If half a star was an option, that would be generous. Best downtown bar. They have the special written on the chalk board in the hall, I just buy what ever that is. The green couch in the back room is the best seat in the place. Also they feature a shuffleboard table. With credit cards, they usually require a $10 minimum charge. read more

If you don't like or can't deal with smoke, go somewhere else! If you hate crowds, like I do, don't go here on a weekend. Most of the bartenders are great guys (I say most because I don't know the new guy). The drinks are cold and wet and a decent price. What else do you need? There is nothing frilly about this place. It's a 50+ year old smokey bar. Plain and simple. The down side is the fact that you can't move in there some nights. It gets packed with south siders that decide to slum it for a night of screaming "WOOOOOOOO" and showing off their bedazzled jeans (both men and women) in down town Tulsa. read more

You can smoke inside so be careful with that shuffle board weight and don't set the table on fire. The bar has all you need. Whiskey, and more whiskey. A few beers on tap, tons of bottles and cans of varieties and pitchers if you want to share or be a lush. It's a pretty small place, but that only makes it feel cozy. Plus the people are great. They have darts in the back and shuffle board in the front. If you like to get a little smoke in your hair and enjoy shots with everyone at the bar, Arnie's is where you want to be. It's a classic place with a little edge and a lot of charm. read more
