Honestly, I debated on whether or not to actually do this review. This restaurant is beloved by so many in this area and is truly a gem of the cultural tapestry that makes up Tulsa. I know that people have really strong feelings about this place one way or the other so I'm just gonna be brave about this and charge on. It had been several years since I actually had ate here, and my husband had never been, so we made a date of it! As as soon as you walk in the door, you know you're at someplace special. The interior of this restaurant immediately transports you to that green island across the sea. We started our evening with appetizers, one from their OktoberFest menu (the sausage balls) and another from their regular menu (the goat and cream cheese plate). The sausage balls are flavorful and filled with sausage, cabbage, and cheese. It's fried almost like an arancini and they serve three of them with a sauce that neither of us could quite identify, but I'm sure it was on the menu description. I am not a big fan of cabbage, even if it is something that you can't really taste it in so this wasn't my personal favorite. My husband said it needed just a little bit more seasoning, but it was otherwise delicious. Out of the two, my favorite was the goat cheese which was served with a toasted bread. For our mains, I got the classic Guinness steak pie with the brown gravy, and my husband got the fish and chips. Hands-down, you cannot beat this steak pie! The crust was delicious, the filling was seasoned just right and the brown gravy around it was just perfection. For the side I switched out the seasoned vegetables for the green beans. The green beans were still crunchy in a good way, and seasoned with salt pepper and a little bit of garlic. This is brought out in a shareable size and paired well with the hardiness of the steak pie. My husband's fish and chips were unfortunately a little lackluster. For our personal taste, the batter was just a bit too cakey and was really dark. The potato wedges that were served with it were decent. Though for our personal taste, I wish that they had been dropped a little bit longer in the fryer. They have an in-house tartar sauce that they put olives in. If you're like my husband, you might want to steer clear and just grab the malt vinegar or ketchup instead. It wasn't bad, he just doesn't like olives.‍ Our server was really kind and attentive, even though he was running about half of the tables in the restaurant! We definitely will be back to try more of the menu and plan to bring family in as they enjoy an Irish pub scene as well. I'm giving them a 4 star review because I can't give them a 3.5. and I like to round up. I think a lot of of what we experienced was just personal preference and like I said we do plan to come back because we have loved ones who will enjoy this. Overall, a great midweek dining experience. read more

We stopped in around 11ish pm after the Ghost concert. The service was quick and we were seated quickly and asked for our drink order immediately thereafter. Even though it was later in the evening, the vibe was chill and many more people from the concert were coming in. We each had the Crème Brûlée which was perfectly torched. No burn's and the top was evenly crispy. The custard was warm and delicious too. Overall a perfect end to the night. Highly recommended. read more

Kilkenny's is a definite favorite when dining in Tulsa. First, the atmosphere cannot be beat. Authentic Irish decor and dark lighting with Irish music playing help transport you from Tulsa. Second, the service is always spot-on. Servers are attentive without being overbearing. I've been coming for years for a reason. Finally, the food is spectacular. They say that restaurants should run smaller menus. Kilkenny's bucks this trend with tons of options. Everything I've tried has been phenomenal. My favorites are the Florentine Omelet (they serve brunch on the weekends), the Coolgrange Chicken, and the Three Castles Sandwich. They also have seasonal favorites throughout the year. read more

Way better than I'd anticipated! The menu is very genuinely Irish and everything I've had has been very good! I really like the vibe in here-it feels cozy and similar to how we decorate at home. A true pub feeling. We don't come often, but when we do, service is good, the food is hot and delicious, and we leave satisfied. The lamb chops are perfection-which is a big deal because lamb can be fickle. I really love the Killkennys Bake-a great option for seafood fans. Tons of potato options on the menu. read more

First time here and I can't wait to go back. The vibe inside was insane and the place was way bigger than I expected. We did have a short wait, but it was totally worth it. It was prime time on a Saturday so it's to be expected. Our waitress was super nice and gave great suggestions. The pretzels were INSANE, I still think about them. Pretty busy on a Thursday at 6, but we were seated relatively quickly! James W greeted us fairly quickly to get drink orders. When he brought those, asked about apps and a few minutes later came over to get main course orders. Pretty dark atmosphere with lots of dark wood. Exactly how I think left Irish pubs would be. The bar was massive and they have alcohol i had never even heard of. My group got scotch eggs and the deep fried ribs to start. Every bit of rib meat fell off the bone and was incredibly tender. Great balance of texture with the fried outside and meat inside. The bbq sauce gave an incredible flavor as well. The scotch eggs were ridiculously good as well. The honey mustard added a great flavor. I ordered the cottage pie for a main course. The ultimate comfort food. Made me ready for winter. The stew was flavorful, hearty, and very filling. Tried a bite of the sticky toffee pudding and it also did not disappoint! Creme brulee is pictured, but I didnt try any. I don't give 5* reviews too often, but this place would get a 6. Should be added to your must try spots in Tulsa! read more

We were in the neighborhood for a weekend and wanted to try a place that everyone recommends and we came across Kilkenny. It's a little Irish pub that has all the cutest decor to really make you feel like you're at a home in Ireland. The waitstaff were great. Super attentive and friendly. We were immediately greeted and were checked on periodically. Ended up ordering the crab omelette for myself and my husband had the chorizo omelette. Both were delicious! Super simple and delicious. You also HAVE to get the home fries. The flavor and seasoning were soooo good. Definitely worth a visit for brunch! read more

We ate at Kilkenneys last night as a special treat before a show at the PAC. I ordered the Craige Boxty, which had been my favorite. It's the most expensive boxty but I wanted to treat myself because things have been hard lately as a single mom. I did not know it came with steamed veggies and the waitress did not verify. It is not listed on the menu with the boxty line item but instead at the top, easy to miss. The veggies were on the same plate as the boxty and extremely watery. It made the entire boxty soggy and inedible. I tried to soak up the water with napkins that I had to get up and get myself but it was too late, the boxtie had just sat in water for a while. The veggies were hard, bland, and cold. The boxty was soggy, filled with green onions, and bland. The waitress never checked on us until it was time to pay. She never even refilled our drinks. I mentioned the sogginess to her and she offered to bring me another item. We did not have time before the show. There was no offer to reduce the price or talk to a manager. I paid $30 for a bad meal and was still hungry all night. I wish I could just have my money back. It really put a damper on what should have been a special night. I won't go back. read more

We celebrated our anniversary at Kilkenny's yesterday around 1pm - a true Irish experience! It was like we were warped into a speak easy with lots of look at from shelves of books to Irish memorabilia & romantic overhead lighting & Irish-themed music in the background. Menu has a large selection of authentic Irish cuisine & drinks. We were greeted right away by the hostess and tucked away to our table within seconds. Shortly after, our waitresses came (one in training) to grab our drink orders. They were spot on with refills before even having to ask! Kaitlyn was nothing short of amazing! She had lots of suggestions & answers to any questions we had. Food came out piping hot and quickly! Everything was delicious & we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon @ Kilkenny's! Price was on point & very reasonable too! Thank you Kilkenny's team! We will definitely be back! read more

Dined here tonight again and wow, I forgot what great vibes they had here. The place was packed for dinner. We did have to wait about 15 minutes for 2. I ordered the fish and chips with a side of curry sauce. One piece of fish would have been enough, but for some reason, I got two and it was a bit much. The cod was juicy and flavorful and the batter was good as well. The batter was slightly on the oily side, but not too heavy to taste. The housemade tartar sauce was pretty good and I'm not even a tartar guy. The side of the curry elevated both the fish and chips to another level. Note that it was an extra $2 for the curry sauce, but it was SO worth it. I saw another patron order a miller lite with his meal...please don't do that. Order yourself an Irish drink ya dingus! For dessert, most of their holiday desserts were already sold out, but we opt for the bailey's cheesecake and wow, what a great choice! The crust was super thin and it doesn't fall apart, the cheesecake was delicious and not too sweet or heavy. The chocolate sauce was pleasant. Absolutely perfect. I highly recommend it. I can't wait to come back to try the other dishes! read more

This is what a real Irish Pub should look like. It reminded me of the pubs that I went to in Ireland. The Guinness was spot on with the pours. My wife had a Black Velvet, sparkling wine mixed with Guinness, can you say stupid good. Absolutely insane. We sat at the bar and the bartender was slamming and jamming right on par. He was super friendly and made us feel welcomed. The food was amazing as well. You can't go wrong with their fish n chips. Fish and chips are the best in town! Always the best servers and the bartenders are amazing. This place should definitely be rated 5 stars!

The look and vibe of the restaurant when walking in definitely feels "Irish pub." Unfortunately I didn't feel like the food lived up to the ambiance. I was hoping for a nice European cider (Magners, Strongbow, etc) but they only had canned American cider - even though they DID have Magners on their bar menu. We ordered their chips and Cheddar dip starter. The fries were thick cut and very good, but the cheese sauce tasted like an unspicy nacho sauce and not something you'd get in a pub. I saw the lobster corn chowder and thought that sounded really good. When it came out it looked good, but the initial taste didn't have any seafood flavor. Toward the bottom of the cup I found the lobster, but it was still very translucent and I didn't want to gamble on whether or not it was fully cooked. Our waitress told us the kitchen said "that's just how it looks." I did not finish it, but she did very kindly remove it from our bill. The steak and Guinness pie was good. The gravy was flavorful and the steak was nice and tender. All in all it was an ok meal and experience. read more

If you're craving real Irish comfort food and good energy, Kilkenny's is the spot. The atmosphere hits that perfect balance between cozy and lively like the kind of pub where stories and laughter flow just as easily as the Guinness. We tried the Traditional Irish Stew, Fish and Chips, and Classic Corned Beef and Cabbage, and every dish hit the mark. The stew was rich and flavorful, the fish perfectly golden, and the corned beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Service was fantastic. Friendly, fast, and genuinely caring. Kilkenny's doesn't just serve great food, it delivers the full Irish pub experience. Highly recommend. read more

I have never had a bad experience at Kilkennys. From the excellent service to the great food. Recently I've been hooked on the Black and Blue burger. It's always perfectly cooked and has bacon and bleu cheese on it. Paired with the sweet potato fries and yummmm. These photos are from our most recent visit with family. Every one of them enjoyed their meal. I love the decor inside as well. My favorite place to sit is in the back where the booths are somewhat private but all the areas are tastefully decorated. I think I spot something new each time. It's just fun to look at. I also highly recommend brunch here. read more

This is a fun place. It has a good atmosphere with lots of Irish decor and Irish music in the background. The music wasn't too loud for conversation but just loud enough to make the place feel Irish. We both got lunch fish and chips. The cod was thick and dense. It would have been good had they just cooked it long enough to get the breading fully done. The potato wedges would have been better if they had a firmer substance. They had a crispy outside but tasted like mashed potatoes on the inside. read more

Excellent choice for one of our evening meals. Greeted at the door, seated quickly, and fast, friendly service. Interesting menu, lots of good choices. All portions were very generous and tasty, came out in appropriate time (not microwaved, not late). Guinness pour was well done (naturally), and the whole transplanted pub interior makes you homesick for across the water. Interior has a common room, and all sorts of little nooks and crannies spread about, very nice change from a lot of US pubs. read more

On our visit to Tulsa, we received a recommendation to try Kilkenny. The atmosphere was great and the decor fit an Irish pub. I ordered the chicken pot pie and my wife ordered a boxstie vegetarian dish called Vinesgrove. It was vegetables wrapped in a potato pancake. I had an Irish ale and for desert we shared Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was very good but the toffee was very sticky. Go early for by the time we left it was packed. read more

Decor makes you feel transported to Ireland (I've been a few times), and the authentic artifacts are a nice touch. Server was kind and attentive. Food menu is a little excessive and overwhelming as well as slightly confusing and not related to Irish cuisine (some of the Latin brunch options as well as the pasta dishes). Glad I researched options before I came, otherwise I would've been overwhelmed. Ordered the lunch combo: half Rueben and potato soup. The corn beef and mustard sauce was delicious! The soup was tasty as well, just be warned that the carrot and potato chunks are quite large and not all "bite" friendly. The husband ordered the breakfast boxty which was a nice brunch option. read more

My group of friends had just left a wedding and wanted to hang out some more. My friends who live in Tulsa recommended this place. There was a long wait for our large group of 12, so we hung around the area and their local shops like CHOCS to pass the time. We got the text that we had 5 minutes to show up and be seated, so we booked it down the street to get in. It was January 2025 when we visited, and it was already sundown, and the inside of the restaurant wasn't very well-lit at all. We hobbled in and were taken to our table, afraid I was going to bump into someone. Overall, unfortunately, the food was rather bland. Needed salt to liven up the senses. My husband ordered for the table the brie appetizer and the bread was bland, and the brie was very lightly glazed and I barely tasted it. The grapes were good though! I then ordered their potato soup - I do not recommend it. As an Irish pub, I'd like to think that maybe they were making food from their roots, like the original recipe, but the potato chunks were so large that they had no time to soak up any flavor. I needed 10 more saltine crackers to make me want to finish it. I added my own salt to try and enhance it but the veggies were too far gone to help. The saving grace was my Caesar salad. The chicken was well grilled and the salad had good dressing on it. I would totally get this again. Would I come back? If someone else wanted to go, sure, but I probably won't be the one to bring it up as a suggestion. As for parking, it's all street parking, so good luck finding a spot. Our waiter was very kind and humorous though, so props to him! read more

We have been on the road for 3 months and every new city we were in, we went to the top reviewed restaurant. I usually don't pick Irish pubs to eat at but I'm very happy with this find! I ordered a boxty for the first time and everything about it was great! I got the chatsworth, and by the time my boyfriend looked down to ask for a bite..... there was nothing left!!! His favorite is chicken cordon Bleu so he couldn't pass up that option and he enjoyed his food just as much. Later when a friend met us in town, we came back with him so he could try. Both of us enjoyed our entrees so much we ordered them again. A cold front had blew in that night and it's was very cozy in the restaurant. Authentic Irish pub with an impressive menu. Here's the thing this pub has your Irish staples but has a pretty expansive menu and monthly theme menu you don't often find at Irish pubs. The oysters are huge and fresh and you can order them by the piece. I typically sit at the bar and receive great service. Is no wonder the pub is always busy when some of their competitors are not. i was invited by my mom to go out for lunch with her, her uncle, and his wife, and accepted this offer in part to catch up with my great uncle and his partner and also to review another tulsa restaurant. food - i ordered the potato soup, which includes carrots, leeks, parsley, and obviously potato. this dish was really enjoyable, and spoiler: was served with the surprise to me of large potato chunks, and not-so-surprising side of cracker packets. my mom and the wife of my great uncle also ordered appetizers of pretzels with cheese and a mildly spicy mustard, and potato wedges with a gourmet cheese sauce, which i was able to partake. and the wife of my great uncle also chose to treat our dining party to what i describe as cinnamon-sugar donut balloons that look about the size of powdered bull testicles. those also had a good taste. service - the service our lunch party received was very good. while i do not recall the name of our waitress, she was timely with greeting and submitting our order, and also a friendly conversationalist. if interested in sitting at a table in the section of that particular waitress, one notable physical characteristic of hers is green and purple hair coloring. ambiance - i like most all aspects of the restaurant. my primary critique is relatively dim lighting in some areas. that said, the varied irish folk music that plays from the speakers of the restaurant make up for this in my estimation. the irish folk music even motivated me to do a kai cenat inspired irish shuffle for the rest of the lunch party, in part because my mom and other family members were paying for my meal. however, i am not planning to make such a currency exchange a habit. read more
