For our mains, two of us had the brisket and one had ribs. Both were super good. There were 4 different sauces. I recommend trying them all. I wanted to try the sausage but they were sold out. I guess you need to get there earlier than an hour before they closed. We finished with a couple desserts. The banana pudding was probably the best I've had. Their seasonal cobbler was blueberry and very tasty! I was hoping for peach. Maybe next time. Yes there will definitely be a next time. It was a lot of food so we had plenty left over that ate for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is super friendly and really clean. Like most barbecue places I've been to there is no table service. You order and pay at the counter. Then depending on how busy they are they will bring your food to your table or have you pick up at the counter. For me the cherry on top is their pay it forward meal. For $15 you can buy a meal for someone in need. They hand you a receipt that you pin to a board. Then when someone needs a meal they can go in and grab one off the board. They offer them their lunch special. While I was there I saw a very grateful individual come in and get a meal. The 1st 2 times I had the steak and my husband had the ham sandwich (I know... he's a sandwich man... but it's seriously good). Last night I took 2 of my girlfriends for dessert. One is gluten free so we got the lava cake. Kale, who was my waiter for our 1st visit, was our waiter again. He remembered my name and my husband's name! He also remembered me asking about a GF menu for my friend. He is so warm and inviting and kind-- I'm not sure Rise knows how lucky they are to have him! If I didn't like the food, I might still go based on service and atmosphere alone. But let me tell you.... The food is divine. The seasonal corn - was gone so quick! It was just so delicious. Ate that right up!! The shrimp scampi leaned heavily into garlic and butter in the best possible way. Service started off well with taking our drink, dinner and dessert order and then we had to wait a while for the tab. The waiter did tell me happy mother's twice in the beginning and at the end with the tab. We requested to have the asparagus boxed up and never received it. I will admit we didn't realize it until after we had left. The dinner evening did end with the manager giving me a forever red rose. The atmosphere and interior are upscale and comfortable.
