I have not been to fat daddy's in probably five years, but that was just to drink. This visit I went on a Thursday night with their five or six dollar burger night and that burger is phenomenal. If you are super hungry and don't have a lot of cash this is the place to go. In addition to this burger, the bartender and the waitress were very kind informative patient with our group, especially with us having a kid. We loved our experience here. We were discussing eating more local and limiting chain restaurants as much as we can to connect more with our City and this spot didn't let us down. Wow! What a find! This is a fun little pub with fabulously delicious food and lots and lots of specials. We found Fat Daddy's because we are Catholics and were looking for a good fish and chip deal last Friday. Dan saw an ad for fish and chips under $10 at Big Daddy's. We came in for fish and chips but our server, Aimee, sold us on the catfish. She said she liked the catfish better because it's hand battered and fried to perfection. Aimee was right. The two pieces of catfish were also enormous and more than we could eat. That made our dog, Baxter, very happy. Aimee took very good care of us. She was friendly, energetic, and seemed to be having fun. It has a modern pub ambience. It's dark with several televisions, game machines, and lit food and beer signs casting light into the room. The decor gives the room energy. Their specials are too numerous for me to remember. Aimee ran off a list, but all I remember are Taco Tuesday, Thursday Burger and beer, and of course, all day Friday Happy Hour. I plan to visit Big Daddy's often on Fridays. I'm truly impressed. Went in for fish and chips for a Friday lunch. However Aimee, who was doing a great job holding down both bar and table service by herself, recommended the catfish basket instead. Great choice. Some of the best catfish I've had. Perfectly hand breaded and cooked. Huge portions. Next time we're going to share one because we both got overly full trying to finish our 2 plates. So disappointed after all our visits to find barely any meat/filling on either sandwich, new brand of buns were soft causing the French Dip's bun to disintegrated in the Au jus. Rating a one star based purely on our experience walking in. It was a THURSDAY night, not busy at all. It took a while for anyone to acknowledge us. I had a group of 8 that wanted to sit at a table together. Most of the ground tables weren't cleaned yet but we wanted to sit together, which isn't unreasonable by any means (the high tops would split us up). So we politely asked the lady at the bar if we could have one of the tables cleaned for us. And she LITERALLY said to my face: "Are you guys really going to talk to each other from across the table?" As if it was a stupid request to be seated altogether. After that, she proceeded to ignore us and talk to someone else at the bar. (Btw, yes, a group of 8 can easily share/talk across a table. Like what??) I was appalled at how smug she was. Never in my life have I experienced such horrendous service. We immediately left the place and took our business down the road where we got great service, a table for all 8 of us, and a night of sharing conversation ACROSS the entire table. I placed a pickup order. Super loud & the lady couldn't hear me even though i was talking super loud so she could. A man grabbed the phone because "we're super busy" he wasn't pleasant one bit!My order was simple and i knew exactly what i wanted so the rude service wasn't necessary. Food tasted great but the texture and portions were the problem. For the 3 dips it was $17. I kindly asked if there was any way i could get a little extra artichoke dip and he told me "no sorry, they gave you more queso so that's part of the reason the artichoke dip is the portion it is" I let it go but definitely not worth $17. The bun to my burger was soggy which is upsetting because when i arrived i had to wait for my food, drove 4 minutes home to find out it was soggy. The three fish strips were fried golden brown. The taste of beer was subtle. But the fish was really good - flaky, chunky, and well-seasoned, a bit greasy though. The music was kinda of the oldies in the '80s, like Neil Diamond and Rod Stewart. I also got a bud light, which was just good - nothing to brag about. All the patrons are well-behaved, all chatting and having fun in a civilized manner. The service was fine. There was only one waitress, but she handled everything well. I'm not sure if I would come back and try again since there are many others around the area. I went in with high expectations, but they were not met. This place could be good if someone was managing the room. We had an obnoxious bunch of boys next to us and one of them was an attention addict. He was the loudest talker, acted out the most and was one of those vapers that have to put out the biggest cloud and do it as often as possible. This went on for the 2 hours we were there, no one said a word, even as those clouds drifted over our table. The burger I had was one of the worst I have ever had anywhere. It was way overdone and didn't even taste like beef. It didn't even fill the bun, it was so small. The service was not very good. I don't know if they were short handed or not, but we didn't see her very often. I had to request a refill. She was friendly enough, though. We had a stack of dirty dishes that stayed on the end of the table the whole time. Finally, we were there for the OU game and it was way too loud.
