#1 walked inside and the hostess was eating a chicken wing bone. Ambiance was nice however the food was horrible. The Crispy Cajun Roll is only edible with the sauce. By its self alone it's bland with no flavors. The Imperial Cajun Salmon is far from Imperial more like common. It taste more like an experiment. We had ordered a lemon drop not only did they charge for the vodka but also charged for a lemon drop. In other words there was two charges for one drink. I don't mind paying the money but make sure the quality and the service matches. Steak 48 prices for food truck quality ‍ cant do it. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE. I will never visit This place again, took a party of 7 35mins just to get drinks because the bartender was sitting down with women at the bar. Waitress had to go behind the bar and make out drinks, took Over an hour just to get food. The place is a very small establishment so it's no way the wait times should be bad like they are. Waitresses were taking shot while on the clock, the manager on duty was just as bad she was sitting at the bar dancing, not telling the workers any thing STRAIGHT SHIT SHOW. The staff made the place the worst experience I've ever had & I visit Houston a lot. Let's start with the pros. The food was delicious and the bartenders were really cool. Cons: it's really small, so they don't have room for large parties and they fill up fast, so if you don't have a reservation, you won't get a seat. Luckily for us, we found a spot at the bar. I wanted to be able to write a great review on this restaurant however that is not and will not be the case. This may be a long but detailed review. It is to help those who consider going here in the future. I placed a reservation on January 27, 2025 for February 15, 2025. I received a confirmation that it was booked. While making the reservation I saw mention of a $25.00 deposit being required. This was fine however I was not asked for my card number to pay at the moment or any other time. This alarmed me and I went to call the restaurant to see how to pay the $25.00 deposit but they were not open yet. I waited until 5:00 when they opened the next day and called at 5:27 PM 01/28/25 the line just rung and went to voicemail. I called back on 3 other occasions and the phone just rang and went to voicemail. I really wanted to talk to someone to verify if the deposit needed to be paid. Nevertheless this morning at 1:01 AM I received a message the restaurant overbooked due to a glitch and I could reschedule for Thursday or Sunday for 15% off. This was very unprofessional as this should have been checked daily. Why notify someone two days before their reservation. This is not enough time to secure reservations anywhere else or make plans to come on the days they suggested. This was very disheartening as my partner was very excited to have dinner here. Don't waste your time or money on a restaurant who does not answer the phone, does not provide detailed instructions while booking nor do they care enough about patrons to give enough notice about canceling a confirmed reservation. If you decide to come here please book a backup just in case they cancel your reservation at the last minute. Imagine this happening to you on a birthday or very special occasion. Ok so boom, 2 stars for the ambiance and the drinks which is pretty much it. First we wanted the oxtails, but was told there wasn't enough AFTER about 45min. Blah. Then we ordered lamb chops, truffle mash potatoes and stuffed chicken. The chicken was literally burnt with a mushy "boudin" stuffing. Wouldn't recommend. The truffle mash potatoes tasted like they had been in the refrigerator all day and were just warmed up. Gross. Then there were only 4 lamb chops (which were salty), that looked like an appetizer, ok cool, but for $45 with NO sides?! That got sent back as well. So in its place, because we still wanted to eat, we ordered fondue and wings. Told them to just bag it up to go since at this point we've been waiting for 2.5hrs. That went left, because the waitress bagged the wrong food up and a random worker handed it to us. She had an attitude and it took 2 other people to get the shit right. The waitress seemed annoyed and over it all as we all were, management wasn't apologetic at all, just brought the rest of the food and our tickets so we would shut up and leave. Long story short, you try and support our people, but not like this. Prey, y'all dropped this ball and you cannot charge Steak 48 prices for mediocre plates of food. read more

I received the lobster pasta and it was very good overall. Would definitely get it again. We were able to meet the owner, Mr. Carl, who was walking around and engaging with guests making sure food was good and if anything else was needed. Lovely place must I say. The music, decoration's, and vibe is pleasant. Noah was our waiter and he was phenomenal. He was very knowledgeable on the menu. He was good about asking what we had in mind and what taste were we looking for. He suggested what I would call a Cajun pasta and baby it had a kick but it was good, so for those who love some spice and wanting pasta that's your dish. I tried a sample of everything lol and everything was cooked to perfection. The presentation was amazing for all of the dishes. They have valet parking for $20 and self serve parking for $10 in the parking garage. The drinks were strong and tasted really good. My ONLY complaint is the cost. I feel like the food was a bit more expensive than it should be. My bowl of Cajun pasta was $50, so be prepared to spend. My cocktail and pasta totaled out to be $85. If you are wanting to get dressed up, enjoy some good food, nice view and good music and don't mind spending a little extra than normal I would say come here. You won't be disappointed for sure. I dined at the Grand Opening of a new restaurant In the Houston area last night call Prey. OMG!! You just don't have dinner there, you walk out with an experience. The service was great. And the food was amazing. Now I have to stop right here to tell you my favorite part was that bread pudding, In all my years, I have never tasted such a scrumptious dessert as this signature dish. It may have been the rum glaze or the lightly caramelized top, but that dessert top the evening!!! Carl Gordon, the restaurants GM was very warm and friendly and went out of his way to make sure the evening was quite rememberable for me and my friends. It was a Thursday night and we made a reservation but it was somewhat empty. It's surprising that other self proclaimed 'high-end' restaurants around Houston with mediocre food were fully booked. First Time here! So i came here on a last minute dinner date lol. Literally got to the place a hour before closing. When i arrived it was hard trying to find the place it's literally ducked off. As we walked in we were greeted immediately and they quickly sat us. The waiter was very cool and friendly. He suggest his favorites. I ordered a peach margarita which is on point. As for my main dish i had the "Lazy Cat" it was cooked to perfection. My date wasn't hungry so he ordered lite. He had the stuff shrimp which tried must say delicious. Went last night for my birthday and was disappointed. The decor is nice but the tables we were at were uneven and wobbly the whole time (it was 4 of us with two small cheap tables pushed together). The server tried but she kept leaving and not coming back we had to call for her too many times. The server didn't really care because they add a 20% gratuity to the order. The food was good but, the prices are ridiculous for that basic food. My check was $67 for salmon, potatoes and lemonade. The food was good but, not worth that much. They brought me a birthday dessert but, wrote on the plate in sharpie and sat my cheesecake on top of it. At the two hour mark, the host came up to the table and told us our time was up and there was someone waiting for our seats. Even though there were plenty of seating they could've had. Our reservation was at 10 pm, when we arrived we were seated on the patio which was nice because the weather was very nice in Houston on this particular evening. My husband thought the food was decent. However, for $200, I need my food to be way more than decent. My food was not fresh, and the fish was heavy and greasy. The mashed potatoes were not even good. I was thinking of all the places we could have gone to and had a great meal for half the amount. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying if it is worth it, and this definitely was not worth it. Service was excellent, food was great. I had a glass of the Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and it was superb. For my meal I ordered the lamb chops (no fried rice) and shared the truffle mash. I got it medium and it was cooked to perfection. We also shared the bread pudding for dessert. The only downfall for me is that I'm allergic to shelled fish and try to stay away from red meat.
