This was a cute coffee shop around the corner from the hotel I was staying in in downtown Denver. I stopped by here two of the four mornings I was in town and I tried a hot chocolate, a chai latte, and their bacon empanada. I went right around 7am both days and there were one or two other customers that were there or who came in while I was there. Service was attentive and quick. The issue I had was that the first day, when I got a hot chocolate, it was lukewarm at best. I was a little confused, particularly because when I walked outside in the cold with it, it would get even cooler. I went to the counter and asked if it was intentionally that way? They said they could make it warmer for me, but that what I received was drinking temperature. I'm not sure who orders a hot beverage and wants it lukewarm. To their credit, they did warm it up for me. The second day, I had to specifically ask for it to be hot. Interestingly enough, I see several reviews that also mention that the beverages at Press are not hot. So, just know if you want a hot drink, you need to ask for that. The empanada was just OK. The dough was nice and flaky, but the contents were mostly eggs. There was very minimal cheese or bacon. Prices here I thought were very fair. This was a cute coffee shop that was convenient to my hotel but after going two consecutive days, I chose to spend my other two mornings elsewhere.
Press Coffee is a nice café that's convenient to get to from the convention center. The space is nice, too, with a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors. They have lattes in four sizes (8 oz, 12 oz, 16 oz, & 20 oz). I tried the 16 oz, which has two shots of espresso. The flavor of the coffee was nice, with the typical dark and bitter notes you'd expect for espresso. But even though I got the coffee as soon as it hit the bar, the latte wasn't very hot. That ended up being helpful while walking around in the sun outside, but it was still a bit disappointing. That said, I'd come back to Press while attending a conference. I'd like to try their empanadas, which they offer as part of a deal with their coffee.
Nice interior, but the staff was unfriendly. Our main issue was the misleading advertising. Both their website and their Google and Yelp pages stated that this branch (EVB) serves hot breakfast sandwiches and empanadas, which is why we chose this spot. However, when we arrived, we were told that they don't offer breakfast sandwiches at this location--only empanadas and sweet baked goods like muffins. They had no empanadas at the time (8 AM). We're not fans of sweet breakfasts but didn't have time to look for another place. So, we ended up ordering a muffin, a croissant, and a latte. The coffee was okay, but the baked goods were overly sweet, to the point that we couldn't finish them. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially if you're looking for savory options or value accurate advertising.
If you ever find yourself in downtown Phoenix, Press Coffee is a lively and welcoming coffee spot! I got myself the Hazelnut Cold Brew with whole milk. The cold brew was a bit on the sour side, but was refreshing and hit the spot. The empanada tastes almost as if it has a good quality omelet inside of it! Mine came out a bit on the harder, slightly burnt side. However, the packet of Cholula was a great addition to elevate the flavor. Overall, a cozy place to get your morning started, catch up with friends, or get some work done. Loved the decor and appreciated the friendly staff!
This is a convenient coffee location to downtown. My biggest draw were the breakfast empanadas, which didn't disappoint. They were full of egg, with a hearty crust that felt very homemade. It was an unusual but satisfying accompaniment to my iced latte. The interior is a little sterile, and feels very corporate office building aesthetic, but the food and coffee are delivered. The service was friendly, and they were helpful to guide me the the best coffee to get there.
Press Coffee imPRESSed me and my friend! I loved my matcha latte and espresso shot. Great real flavor and not watered down. Plus the dessert bites were such a great addition to our coffee. My friend got a caramel shaker and for me who doesn't like things too sweet for drinks, I thought it was well done! Clean place and the staff was friendly. Loved the amount of seating as well so it didn't feel crammed and my friend and I had a nice catching up.
We were in Phoenix for work for a few days, staying at a downtown hotel near the convention center. The first thing I always do when we arrive at the hotel is look for a nearby coffee shop, preferably a local shop or chain (no offense to the Bux or Peets), for our morning caffeine fix. Press's East Van Buren (EVB) location was just around the corner from our hotel so I ordered our usual, an iced oat milk latte and an oat milk matcha latte. We both agreed the drinks were good, but nothing out of this world. I would go again, but I think we'll look for some other shops to try out as well. I will say, with so many locations in/around Phoenix, Press is very convenient and you're sure to find one near where you are. On their website, they heavily promote their mobile app, offering $5 off a first order and some points to start. Unfortunately, as you can read from the reviews in the app store, the app is terrible. I consider myself fairly tech savvy and yet it still took multiple tries to verify BOTH my phone number and email address. If you leave the app open, none of the data refreshes. For example, I browsed locations at night after all the locations were closed so it correctly indicated the location was closed and would open at 6:30am. Opened the app up at 7am the next morning and it still said the location was closed and would open at 6:30am. I had to close and reopen the app to be able to order. At best, the UI/UX is clunky. At worst, it's barely usable. The sad part is that there are reviews going back years that detail the problems with it, yet they have not invested in making improvements. Mobile ordering seemed to work fine, though only drinks are available so it isn't possible to order food. On top of that, I didn't get $5 off my first order so either I misread the promotion or it was no longer active (though still being promoted on their website).
I was blown away the first time I stepped in to be able to enjoy a relaxing morning coffee at such a clean and beautiful modern design featuring simplicity and North European style. I love an environment given to mean different and itself-oriented and blossoming in an elitest fashion. If you feel like a white collar on a day of casual charting and programing, this is certainly the place for you. Dispite my long-winded introduction to its style, coffee as the main seller which I have yet commented on after about 200 words of cliche served its purpose in standard quality and upscale decoration. If you can take a look at the coffee cup in the picture, you can see how beautifully it's made. To that extent of elegance, I paid my respect and appreciation down to my heart. My ratings to a coffee place usually covers quite different criteria besides quality itself, and is included in the Service section, given the fact that most places are oriented in self servicing. And that includes seatings, charging outlets, wifi connection, and whether this place has nonsense like a machine requiring you to tip the baristas without them serving it to me...Seating is sweet, high chairs aren't usually comfortable but to follow the main design idea of the place. Charging outlets aren't there...I failed to find a place to charge my electronic devices. Wifi connection is good as I remembered. As for tippings, optional as always but as I said, didn't make much sense. I guess it's not a problem since most of the places are doing that nonsense now. I apologize for my words. This place is what's rated, pretty good to grab a coffee and visit. I do recommend this place but one thing I don't quite understand not just this place but coffee places in general that goes into chain business, and that is the very similar over-priced experience for just a cup of coffee. And to be frank, Starbucks seems a little more economically friendly for the same price. But here, cheers to the quality! P.S. Muffin was not warmed because they don't have a heating device. I have found a new hangout! They have excellent drinks, a robust food menu, super friendly staff, plenty of seating, and even a parking garage to keep my beloved wheels out of the Arizona summer sun. Oh, and let's not forget free, fast wifi, and their music list seems to have been taken from my own. (Basically, you win my heart when you play The Cure, but you also play Interpol and The Smiths? Yes, please!) But you come here for coffee (I mean mostly - it's 105 out and they have good a/c too). I did one of the "shakers," and I was NOT disappointed! I chose the chocolate peanut butter one, which was a creamy (yet dairy free) mixture of cold brew, PB, and chocolate, with a touch of agave, all swirling together for flavors that made me drink it a little too fast. (I'm going to get all Oliver Twisty "Please, sir, I want some more" in here.) They also offer these in chocolate or PB solo, as well as chai. And, of course, you can do regular coffee, lattes, teas, or even on tap kombucha. I didn't eat, but I have my eye on those avocado toasts. Save me a covered parking spot, I will be back. Perfectly made cappuccino without defaulting to adding a lid. Too often coffee shops waste plastic on lids when a well made capp can hold its own without spilling. Quite atmosphere to work or relax as well as very kind baristas that complete the Press experience. read more

Holy God the coffee is good if you want good coffee this the place to go. Also I messed up my order and forgot to order a second Latte and they were kind enough to get me the second one in record time so the service is great too. I'm writing this as I wait for my egg burritos to arrive and once they do I'll let you know how those are. The burrito is gone and it was as good as the coffee. I'm contemplating walking back to the coffee shop to get a second coffee, I don't really need more caffeine it's just that good that I want more. read more

Best matcha Latte! I love my matcha latte with just oat milk and no added sugar. When I read in one of the reviews with 2 stars about the matcha latte wasn't sweet enough and the response was that press coffee uses ceremonial grade matcha with no added sugar, I was stoked! Despite not being a coffee drinker in anyway shape or form, I'd venture a guess that I've probably been to every coffee shop within a mile radius of my Downtown Phoenix apartment at this juncture. For those who know the landscape down here, you know just how daunting a task that truly is. Its a cliche to say there's a coffee shop on every corner, but in Downtown its truer than you can imagine. Other than pizzerias, there's probably no other restaurant category with more saturation in Downtown. So why visit Press Coffee? Well, I needed breakfast early on a Saturday morning. And while I could get a donut or a pastry at any coffee shop, Press has a substantive menu of breakfast items. So at 6:30am, off to Press. Press Coffee is a north Phoenix based coffee chain founded in 2008 by Steve Kraus, Jason Kyle, and Alex Mason. Their main coffee roasting operation is in North Phoenix, but they now have 8 coffee shops in the valley. And their Downtown location can be found on the northwest corner of Central & McDowell on the bottom floor of the Muse apartments (right next door to In Perfetto Gelateria). While the atmosphere certainly resembles a traditionally coffee house, the layout is pretty chic. There's seating for I'd guess 30 or so inside with additional seating for another dozen or so outside. Order your drinks and food at the counter and sit where ya like. I whet my whistle with a little OJ to start with and then proceeded to order a pair of breakfast items. First off, Press' signature breakfast burrito. The Press Burrito. Scrambled eggs, quinoa, avocado, kale, and cheddar cheese. A little mild salsa on the side. And to round it out, a piece of whole grain toast coated in nutella. Yes, I'm well aware this might be the most millennial sounding breakfast ever, but I apologize for nothing. Total cost for the OJ, food and tax came to $15. Food took a little while (a little over 10 minutes), but eventually arrived at my table. The burrito was okay by itself, but really good with the salsa added. Copious amounts of egg, cheese, and avocado, though unsurprisingly the kale and quinoa didn't do much in way of flavor. But the salsa brought everything together, so be sure to apply that. The burrito was filling, but not too hearty thanks to the healthy veggies. My slice of nutella toast was a very pleasant morning snack. Perfectly thick toasted whole grain bread and plenty of nutella lathered on. A solid start to my Saturday morning. Press also has numerous sandwich and salad options for lunch (or brunch if you prefer) to go with their numerous coffee and smoothie drink options. For those who live at The Muse or work nearby, Press appears to be a perfect early or mid day fix. Parking is probably the only challenge with this location as the Muse has only a limited number of visitor spots to go around, so just bear that in mind. Does Press bring anything uniquely new or innovative that the other Downtown coffee shops don't? Unless you're a coffee snob, my answer would be no. That said, Press' Downtown spot is inviting, relaxed, and offers a quality menu of food items made right. And on mornings like today, that's more than enough to make me happy. read more
This location is in the MUSE apartment complex area. You can park in the parking garage if the few spots outside are filled. They have tables outside for good weather days. This is the biggest location of Press that I have been to and it is very cozy and seems like a great place to study or read with a good cup of Joe. They offer free refills on drip coffee if you're staying in for a while. We love their cold brew, and now that it's in cans for easy portability, we love it even more! read more

The best way to celebrate National Coffee Day is at Press Coffee. This was my first time at this location. I have been to a few locations but this one was my favorite so far. The Chai Latte was good, service was great, and the building is beautiful but the Press Burrito was very bland. Coffe 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Coffee cup Lids 1/5 I frequent Press about 4-5 times a week as I live right next door at Muse. The inside is very nicely decorated, keeping with the red accent designs of the building. Very hip and trendy. The drink selection is top notch with some of the best coffee I've had in the valley! Tons of options! Staff is always very friendly and courteous. I've admittedly never had any of their food options but they all look very good. My only word of advice to management is to change the lids for hot drink options. Any excessive pressure in the middle or holding the cup from the top can and will cause the lid to pop off, spilling delicious hot coffee all over yourself. This will definitely ruin your morning. It's happened to me at least 5 times. They do have more eco friendly options for reusable sturdy cups in the form of a Press labeled hydro flask but at 50 dollars it's a little much for the size. Those seem to be the only two options. That is the only reason I hesitate in giving this place a 5 star review. I have since learned to handle the cups with utmost caution, like a bomb defuser meticulous handling a potentially volatile and explosive item. All in all, I will keep coming to this establishment and believe it to be one of the best, if not the best in valley. Definitely worth checking out. read more

My office is right down the street from this location - super convenient when I need to get a coffee break/small exercise. Ive only gotten the nitro cold brew from this location. This only comes in 12 oz at $3. There are plenty of tables to sit at but this location is usually packed so may not be able to find a spot if you plan on working from here. read more

Love my muse! I live here and adore my press coffee shop! Their aesthetic is wonderful and very relaxed. My pupper loves coming here and hanging out in their outside patio area before we head to the dog park. The employees are extremely friendly.
