Elliott has been the best locksmith I have ever had by far. Right from the initial phone call I knew that he had all the hallmarks of a 5-star business: knowledgeable, up front about costs, timing, etc., and very responsive (to emails too! How rare is that?). My needs were not complex but it was a bit of a spaghetti-logic situation and Elliott took the time to fully understand what they were so he was fully prepared. After sending him a few snapshots of what he was working with he quickly presented my options and he managed to fit me for same-day service (it was not an urgent lock-out). The moment he showed up he went right to work and was done before I had time to order lunch online. Seriously...I've never seen anyone re-key a lock in the time he did it. After he finished I knew with all certainty that I found my lock guy because he not only reinforced all my earlier impressions but also sealed the deal with the quality of his work. You can tell that he is experienced and truly values quality. I complained that a few key copies that I had made at the nearby Lowes were very finicky since they needed some jiggly love before agreeing to turn in the lock so I asked him to make some better copies. In the span of a few minutes he was back from his truck with *proper* copies that worked perfectly (note that it takes at least a few minutes just to get out of my building so color me impressed). While installing a deadbolt Eddie asked me in passing who installed my previous lock and I noncommittally answered "some local locksmith" (I honestly couldn't remember). After finishing he told me the reason he asked was because he rarely sees a door drilled correctly with the configuration I have on my door, expressing appreciation for a job done correctly. I lost the keys to my bike and needed another copy asap. I called him and schedule an appointment right before closing time which is 5pm. I ran into some problems and got there late and he still took me in with a smile. While I was waiting I was offered different type of sodas and water. He made 2 copies of the lost key and 2 other keys I needed for my other bikes in about 20 mins. He only charged me 80$ for 4 motorcycle keys while other places I called were at least 100$ and KEY KRAFT said they would do it for 75$ but thats for only one key and they will not accept any other bikes pass 4pm sharp. for the first time ever, I lost my car key. It was my only key, as the backup I had been given by the dealership years ago proved to not work, nor fit! I got my car towed in to the nearest ford dealership (serramonte ford), thinking that this was the thing to do, only to be made to wait 3 hours before being told that they would need to completely replace all lock cylinders in my car, for $950.00. They wanted to replace lock cylinders I dont even have, like the glove compartment!, Then after I alerted them to this they told me they could call a locksmith, but would still charge me $300 for two hours labor that it took them to pop my hood and open my door! They said that their locksmith guy would need an additional $400!! So what I did was immediately stop talking to them, stood by my car Called AAA immediately and asked for a tow to my trusted mechanic who could do the job. The gentleman who towed my car reccomended me to Premier Locksmith, and luckily I took his advice. The pro at Premier Locksmith was able to grind out 2 new keys for me and encode them both for under $200!! All other locksmiths had quoted me 300-400 for the job, and he did it right quick, (under 20 minutes), and charged me less than half of the lowest quote I was able to get over the phone. Moral of the story, NEVER go to a car dealership for ANYTHING, and also use premier locksmith in SF every time. read more

I called on a Saturday to see if they could help fix a problem I was having with the ignition switch in my Toyota. Work Fast & Arrived Prompt... these guys showed up quickly on Saturday afternoon & within less than an half an hour of me calling after finding my lock jammed, they had arrived. Within 30 minute they were onsite and within in an hour they had me in my place of business, and with a fresh new lock that worked perfectly. I pulled the boneheaded move of losing the only key I had for my 2005 Ford. It's one of those security keys with a transponder chip. When I put the key into the ignition, it has to send the right code to the car; if the car doesn't get the right code, then it won't start. I called Serramonte Ford, and they referred me to Premier Locksmiths. I called and explained the situation, and they said that they could come out to my location and cut & program a new key for me. I hurried over to my car after work, and Matt showed up within minutes. He had to cut the key, program the key, hook a machine up to my car's computer system, and wipe out the existing key code and then re-program the car with the new key's code. I had him make a second key, and he also gave me the valet key he'd made. Matt was cheerful, friendly, and he really knows his work. Premier Locksmiths got me out of a really difficult situation, and they charged me way less for two keys than another company was going to charge me for one key. I called Premier Locksmith, made an appointment, and the technician arrived on time (even called to confirm he was en route), and was very professional and efficient when creating a new copy of my keys. These guys were a total lifesaver. My car had this annoying problem of holding onto my keys after I turned off the ignition and everyone was telling me it was an issue with my "ignition switch lock cylinder" and that it needed to be replaced. I was estimated anywhere from $450-$750. A friend recommended me to Elliott at Premier Locksmith and it paid off: Turns out it wasn't a problem with the ignition at all but some sort of safety mechanism belt connecting the shifter to the ignition that prevents the keys from coming out while the car's still running. Elliott figured it out on the spot and fixed everything in a matter of minutes and refused to take any payment. The guy easily saved me several hundred wasted dollars. These guys are as honest as they come and do free estimates-you've got no reason not to call them when you've got problems. read more

We had Premier Locksmith come out twice this week. Once to replace a car key, and once to fix our electronic gate lock and re-key a house door. The locksmith showed up right on time and was very professional and knowledgeable. He took the time to double check his work, and explain to me why the gate was broken. He even took the time to re-cut my own key so that it would work better and made us a few free copies. I think they are priced competitively, but aren't super cheap. I would highly recommend! Some crackhead broke into the van my band uses for gigs. They broke in and shoved a random key into the ignition thus rendering it useless. That's what I get for parking overnight on 6th and Jesse. I called Premier Locksmith because I was having trouble with my key not always turning the ignition in my Saab. I scheduled an appointment with Elliot at his home shop and took my car there to get checked out. After 5 minutes he was able to get my key working reasonably well (with a little aerosol brake cleaner shot inside the keyhole) and gave me two options for fixing it long term (1. Have me take the tumbler out and they would fix/thoroughly clean it or 2. They would take it out and do the same). My Saab's ignition tumbler is accessed by taking out one or more front seats and is not an easy job so I was glad to have him give me the option of doing it myself to save some buckos. I am now waiting for some time to do the work and bring it into him. He didn't even charge me for the quick fix. read more

12:30pm: So I called and tried to book an appointment to have keys made for my car. Guy I talked to at premier said he could give me a reduced price if I wait til Monday. I said that was fine. He asked for all of the info on my car and I felt weird about it if sitting around out there over the weekend with anyone knowing that 24 hours a day it would be in the same spot out there. I said I'd book with my house address down the street and take them to it when they showed up (its a few blocks away!). He refused to book the appointment without all of the details of my car in advance, told me he was "getting a weird vibe" and that no one ever refused to give details of the car before. Then he texted back an apology message rationalizing his response and saying I could just book it Monday if I wanted to and see if they had an appointment open then without having to give the exact location of the car. RUDE & completely without reason. Update 245pm: Guy who I'd spoken to agreed to come out between other appointments to make it right and take care of the car keys. He did it at the previously agreed price and made keys that work well in a relatively short amount of time once he had started work. So I'm giving a higher rating for making it right and putting customer service as a priority. Human moments happen. Would use again in the future...but hoping that isn't a necessity again. read more
