Called on a Saturday to check a leak coming from my upstairs bath. Their first availability was the next day Sunday, and he arrived as promised by 9a. Diagnosed the leak, and explained the required repair. Given that he had to leave to pick up parts, he was done within 2.5 hours. Very polite, professional and I as pleased with the overall service. We used 5 Star to maintain our furnace for many years with good results. Now 5 Star has been absorbed into this company, and they may be a bit confused with the broader scope. We had Assim come out for an annual check of the A/C and furnace; he was very personable and thorough, also offered to have one of their plumbers come out to check a separate issue (that project went well - covered in another review). However, communication with Precision Today is kind of a mess - Assim sent several different quotes, with confusing and unclear language; we had questions but there is no way to submit those questions (no email address, no portal) and we work all day so phone chat leads to phone tag. I emailed my questions to Assim himself (he had shared his email address) but we never heard anything back from him. Ultimately, we went with another company which was easier to communicate with. read more

The service was prompt, the tech was excellent, the work was done as expected. BUT - when I originally called to set up the appointment, they said the $99 visit /assessment fee would be applied to the bill if we accepted the quote. To me - APPLIED to the bill meant that fee would offset the total cost. No. When I called and questioned it afterward, I was told that APPLIED meant "IN ADDITION TO". Why not just say that? That's certainly not how the term APPLIED has been used by other providers. I can only assume it's phrased that way to subtly mislead the customer without technically lying. As a result - it established an overall lack of trust between us and Precison Today. I won't use their service again. It's too bad. Not recommended for any service . Stay away as far as possible. I had issue with the HVAC I was charged $815 . Asked then to service and they said the service fee will be waived off .It was charged after the repair , And the repair lasted for only 30 mins when called back I was told that due to recommendation not followed which was entirely false. I have a kid and had to spend 2 days without Heater in Chicago winter. There was no process feedback or they don't have any process to register any issue . Evertyhting has to be done by call .And if you ask them question they will block you . So it money down the drain. I would defiantly not ask anyone call them . I've used this company for several years now. I don't have a complaint about the technicians, they have all been wonderful over the years. Recently though, I made an appt. to have my tankless water heater descaled and my whole house water filters replaced. The tech came out and replaced my water filters on the scheduled date, but did not have a descaling kit. I had to schedule another appt. The day of that appt. came and went and no one showed up. Next day got a message that I need to reschedule, so I did, The woman I talked to told me I could get a weekend appt, so it was scheduled for a Sunday, and that appt. was no call/no show. I didn't receive any kind of message at all, so next day I called and asked to speak to a manager, but no one was available and a message was left for someone to call me after I made another appt. for Thursday as I was told I could not make a weekend appt. No manager ever called. I just called again and left a message for a manager to call me. One person tells me no weekend appts. unless its an emergency and another tells me I can get a weekend appt. I work Mon-Fri an hour from home and can't take time off to get this done because I just started a new job. It should have been done the day my filters were replaced, as scheduled. They don't seem to want to accommodate working people at all lately. I paid for a subscription too and if this doesn't get resolved or if no one shows up to do my furnace cleaning which is scheduled for this Saturday, I'm asking for my money back and finding another service. read more

They assured me they would beat the ridiculous price another plumber gave us, promoting discounts, and then they charged us more-- $700+ an hour in labor. Parts are $150 that's super scummy. I previously bought a Carrier Infinity furnace from Dykstra services. Upon calling Dykstra for a furnace repair I had Precision Today showup at my home. Apparently, Dykstra has been sold. The service representative quoted me a price to fix my furnace of $1950. I was informed that since I did not have yearly maintenance I would have to pay for labor but the part would be covered under warranty. I asked him how long it would take to replace the part and he stated one hour. The service representative also told me it would be $4000 to fix my furnace if I did not have my 10-year warranty. I subsequently chased him out of my home. I called another Carrier dealer (Fire N Ice) and was charged one hour labor to replace the part. Precision Today also tried to do the same to my cousin ($1750). Whereas, he used Fire N Ice and was charged $145. Both of us are senior citizens. i WOULD RATE PRECISION TODAY AT ZERO IF i COULD. read more

left with more questions than answers. overheard talking about up prices vs solving. multiple people involved over a 4 day process and was charged separately after "review" for an issue we asked about the first day. we called the next morning and someone was supposed to come out .... our sink wouldn't drain... left without checking.... we waited 48 hours after they originally came. we have no water pressure anymore. my bathroom panels have gouges that were random and never addressed. ive had to glue paneling down since then. I can't wash any dishes anymore. also after all the pushing of more expensive services.... never gave an electronic or physical warranty. still waiting on it after it was requested and paid for. left with leaking pipes minutes after leaving. guess it's our problem now. read more

After smelling gas in our utility room, we called NICOR to have them check for a leak. Two leaks were detected in the pipes. NICOR marked the locations and turned off the gas, leaving us without heat and hot water. We immediately called AWE (the company we have used for many, many years for maintenance and repair of our AC and furnace) and asked for a plumber to come out to fix the leaks. The plumber worked on the pipes for 2 hours or so, and determined it was best to do a temporary fix on the pipe with the significant leak, to get us heat for the night. His decision was due in part because he didn't have the supplies/tools needed to make the permanent fix! NICOR came back out after he completed the temporary fix and turned the gas back on. The same plumber returned the next afternoon to start the permanent fix. After more than six hours the two pipes with leaks were "fixed." The plumber told us that the pipes were no longer leaking and the strong gas smell would dissipate. He charged us over $2,000 and we thought we were good to go. NICOR returned after the permanent job was completed, tested for leaks, and gas was still detected. The percentage was even higher than what was previously detected and sometime throughout this whole process, a new leak was found in a connection that the plumber had disassembled and reassembled. NICOR turned the gas off once again. This same process continued for 5 days. A plumber would come out, claim he fixed the leaks, NICOR would come back, find leaks were still detected, and shut off the gas. Precision sent 3 different plumbers for a total of 5 service calls before the last plumber finally solved the problem. Nicor restored the gas, and we finally had heat and hot water after 4 days without! We would call Precision Today to tell them about the continued leaks after they "fixed" it, and the customer service rep who answered the phone would always express their concern and say that they would notify dispatch. Multiple times, hours would pass (or even into the next day) before we would get a return call or a plumber would show up. Aren't you a 24/7 emergency company? Eventually, when we would call Precision Today, and ask to speak with a manager. "Oh yes, I will put a message through to the manager and have him call you." was their canned reply. Again, days would pass before the manager would return our call. Don't be fooled by their website and marketing: "We employ trained, certified plumbers and technicians, and our team is dedicated to superior service in everything we do. We strive to get the work done right the first time and hold our team to high standards." "If we don't exceed your expectations, we'll give you your money back. That's our industry-leading guarantee, which you get every time you work with Precision Today." Neither of those statements could be farther from the truth. We have ended our HVAC preventative maintenance agreement, and will never use this company again. Be warned!! UPDATE: We received a phone call from a supervisor who acknowledged our concerns. I contracted Precision Today to perform an installation of a new Heater, AC, and Humidifier in May of 2024. Here we are three months later, making payments on an $18K loan and the installation is still incomplete. No call backs, no replies to my emails, no one following up on the installation. I've even inquired about having the equipment removed and the money refunded per their guarantee in contract and still I receive no response. Next steps will have to be involving the Illinois Attorney General. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say if getting service from a vendor necessitates looping in Kwame Raoul then there's something wrong here. read more

I was convienced by the service tech in December of 2024 that I would be needing a new furance and airconditioner soon - my unit was 12 years old - I purchased a new furnance and air conditioner and it was installed a few days later. This summer when the air conditioner is on my family room and kitchen vibrate. I have had mutiple people out and no one appears to be able to fix it. The last person was out two months ago and said he would talk to his manager and get back to me - I have heard absolutely NOTHING. I had a family party 9/13 people sitting in the kitchen and family room - wanted to know why they felt like they were on a vibrating couch or chair. My son laid on the couch and said it vibrates so much it gave him a headache. I had some water in a glass on the side table in the family room and the glass was making noise from the vibration. Terrible Communications. Called June 2nd to schedule a annual clean and check of my AC unit. They scheduled me for July 3rd, with a 4 hour window between 12pm-4pm. I waited 4 hours for them to show up and no one came. NO SHOW and NO CALL. I called the following Monday to find why there was a no call no show on my scheduled day. Their explanation was "Sorry" we had more important calls due to the hot weather. I understand emergency calls would come before a cleaning, but to not contact me and make me wait 4 hours for nothing is poor business. So then they rescheduled my cleaning for the end of August! 7 weeks later! You think I would have been given some priority scheduling since they were a no call and no show. I see their ads on TV and how you can get service in one day. I guess not in my case. I was a customer of AWE (air water and energy. I had a great experience with them). Since it was taken over by Precision Today I thought I would give them a try. read more

I had scheduled Air Conditioning maintenance in May, I was delayed due to "other priorities" to August. In August I was told I would be delayed until September. I don't think I need to have my Air Conditioning checked in September, I would need my heat checked. I'll probably be delayed for my inspection until April when I would need my air conditioning checked. This membership is a complete rip off. I've never been a priority for Precision Today. Next day waited around half day and then they cancelled on me and asked to reschedule. When I complained stating "I needed someone yesterday" they offered me $50 on upcoming service. Don't hold yourself out as an emergency/quick solution company when you can't deliver. Clearly they don't have the staff or commitment to "same day" solutions. I just wanted to let you know how disappointed I was with the charge I paid for Ray Santiago to come out and assess my noisy toilet problem on 1/13/2025. Ray did a great job and noticed the problem almost immediately. It was a split gasket on the flapper that was leaking. Ray provided me with an estimate and I assumed it was going to take a little time and effort to fix replacing the flapper system. Well, to my surprise, he removed the split gasket and took out a new one that might have cost $5.00. Ray slid it over the tube and had it on in 5 minutes. For this, I was charged $190 plus the service fee of $59.90. I just want you to know that I don't mind paying for a service but this was ridiculous for a rubber gasket and maybe 20 minutes of Ray's time. I would have been responsive to the service fee and tops, a $100 gasket job but this was crazy. I won't be calling Precision Today for any future jobs. read more

I did not discover this until the temperature suddenly hit 90 degrees and I had a house guest. I tried for 3 days to get help from Precision. Depending on who I talked to, it's the norm to install a cooling unit with no fluid in it. others in the company were horrified. I finally got an appointment for between 1-4 today. No one showed, despite my repeated calls and their promises to get back to me, which they did not. finally, at 4pm, I was told that someone would be here between 8 and 10pm. I called at 8 and 9:39 and was told I was next up. at 10, I was told they were all booked for the night and did I want to reschedule. Now, presumably, someone will call tomorrow to schedule. What are the chances that will happen? PRECISION TODAY IS A NIGHTMARE. DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT HIRING THEM. read more

After spending over $21K in May on a new Trane furnace and A/C System. After the installer of this system provided false information and shoddy work forcing him to come back twice To Cochise work. After told that a years supply of filters were provided with the system and having to request these filters twice after installation. After opening the box of filters now to change the one in the furnace and finding that the replacements are the wrong size. And after being promised for six consecutive days that the correct filters would be delivered and still no receipt. After offering to pick up the filters myself, and being told that I don't need to. Today there was a firm scheduled appointment for a technician to deliver these filters "around mid-morning ". It is now the end of the day and no one has come or called. I am cautioning all to beware of Precision Air sales and services. With all of this aggravation there has never been a gesture of remorse or consideration For all of my trouble. Prior to the acquisition of 5 Star Heating and Air, by Precision, a customer would have never experienced these things. Wow, wish I would've looked at Yelp reviews after seeing their "five star" rating on Google. I used them because I had a coupon which they honored even though it was expired, so that was nice. Turns out I really needed it though because the prices advertised on their website are complete lies. No hidden fees, what a joke! And no, I'm not referring to the $59 dispatch fee as an unexpected cost. All of the customer services reps, dispatchers, and water heater technician TJ were very nice and efficient. Our sewer technician Alex not so much. The advertised $99 sewer camera inspection became $260 because he had to access it inside even though no one at any point (even within the website promo's fine print) mentioned that $99 was for outside access only. I don't know if we had an outside access point, and he didn't even ask or check before going inside. He made up a false reason on the spot that the $99 promo is only in combination with a cleaning... then customer service later said it was due to the access point, which was after I reluctantly agreed to the higher cost so he could get started. The advertised $59 water heater flush became $110 for no reason at all. And the standard price, without the promo, is listed as $79 on their website. What??? Thankfully, the technician honored the $59 promo after seeing it one the website (which was a complete surprise to him... you love to see it). Pricing wasn't the only issue. Alex, the technician that did my sewer line camera inspection, left a disgusting mess behind. Sewer water splatters everywhere. To be fair, before he parted, he asked if I was ok with cleaning up. I thought he meant putting everything I had to pull out of the utility closet back in, not sewage cleanup. Come on, man... have some common decency and wipe up the obvious sewage splatters on my walls, floors, and doors before charging me double what your company advertises... I'm only giving them more than one star because they honored an expired coupon, had a very efficient dispatch system, and one of our technicians was very friendly. read more

I do not recommend using this plumbing co due to broken promises and their overcommit. I was told the job would be finished in 1 day. My home was uninhabitable for over a week. With no water/sewer, no air conditioning during 90 degree week, or gas. They sent two men to dig four foot deep trench. When they should have used equipment. They required power equipment to clear sewer drain that was not available or included in the original quote. This is the what they considered a finished job. See picture. We had to hire someone on a Sunday at $1,200 to finish the job so we can live there. I'm so disappointed. I trusted them. They got to my house so quick and underestimated to get the contract for this job. They encouraged us to do it immediately when they didn't have equipment or manpower. Our air conditioning started to make a loud noise so after speaking to several repair businesses we settled on precision today because they said they could come out same day. We later received an email with a picture of the technician who would be coming out, but 5 mins later a lady from the shop called to tell us that no one would be coming until next week and couldn't even give us a date. This business is a scam promising things they have no intention of doing. We had another business tell us they could come out and we told them no because we believed that Precision would keep their commitment and now we have to go all weekend without AC because available spots filled up. In-line shut off water valve installation costs $520 after their 10% discount. 20 min of work. Parts are very cheap... some celebrity pricing idk. I feel taken advantage of! A young lady who knows NOTHING in plumbing, yet needs to have a valve done to have a new fridge working... my father in law said the price I paid seems like a scam and it really can't be more than $100! Very nice people very ridiculous prices. Also some ideas of pricing: faucet replacement $500 with your faucet, simple fridge hook up $250, simple toilet plunger replacement $250... where on earth do they take these numbers from... Ps. I had a leaking water heater and didn't have time to shop around and get estimates so I went ahead and scheduled with this company since they were local and had decent Yelp reviews. The tech that showed up was courteous, did a good job, and cleaned up after the work was completed so no problems there. I have two issues with this company. First issue is with their pricing which is ridiculously high and basically a rip off so my advice is for you is get some other estimates before choosing this company. Actually my recommendation is to not even use this company. Again I knew the estimate was outrageous but based on timing constraints on my end, I went ahead with the work. Here was the scope of work. Replace a 40 gallon gas water heater. It was a 6 year warranty contractor grade AMERICAN® water heater probably no more than $600. There was some additional piping replacement, replaced flue pipe, gas valve, shut-off valve. All minor work I would estimate the parts at no more than $100. I was charged around $1900 total for the job. Let's do some math. The guy showed up, scoped the job, generated an estimate, did all the work, wrote up the invoice, took payment and was all done and gone in around 3 hours. $1900 minus $700 of materials is $1200 for labor. That's $400/hour. The guy even tells me the rate is high because they have to charge for travel and a bunch of other misc crap. Second issue with with the product they resell. The AMERICAN® water heater is a piece of crap. The shower and sink faucets have to have the cold water almost turned off in order to get any hot water. I already have the temperature setting on the water heater set higher than normal. Any higher of a setting and the water would be dangerously scolding. I did not have this problem with the old water heater with any of the faucets. I think the guy even knew he sells a crappy product and this is a known issue because he told me if I don't get enough hot water to try turning up the temperature setting on the water heater. If you like an inferior product and getting ripped off, then go ahead and give them a call otherwise keep looking. Trust me, reading this post just saved you a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ read more

It began 3 years ago. Our sewer/water drain(s) were backing up in our laundry room. TWO other plumbing companies showed me just a ball of roots, but they could only remove about 15% of the blockage, and no more. The roots grew back, and the backups began again. Called Precision Today late last Friday and they were here early Monday. My technician, Stephen, could not have been more professional to work with and educated in water and sewer lines. While the other two pluming companies could not cleat my sewer line roots, Stephen used a Hydr-jet (?) and cleared out all the roots. As both of the previous plumbers suggested we put a cleanout valve in front of the house, Stephen found that there is already one there!!! It was just buried under some dirt and decorative stone. It appears the roots of some Junipers I have planted there, grew straight down that cleanout. Stephen took it further and found that a pipe the Village had installed about 30 years ago, had flattened and "pancaked", making the opening smaller than it should be. I "thought" the first two companies I contacted were professionals, but Stephen, with Precision Today, just raised the bar as to what "professionalism" should be. Our thanks to both Precision Today, and especially, to Stephen. We will be using them again. read more

I had the pipes clogged at my house. The technician came and said that he has to perform a hydrojet service and because the pipe was in a crawl space he should charge $2,746 even though a crawl space is clean and high enough. Their service is extremely overpriced!!! (just a camera inspection cost $455) He did not even try to come up with different solutions and said " that is my option" I paid $59 travel charges and let him go. Waist of time! read more

They advertise $199 for restoring water flow and then surprise you with an additional $99 for travel expenses. What a scam. No where on their site it says there is a travel charge.
