Hi, I requested Bates come out to replace a diverter valve in my shower. I was able to schedule it on Yelp. They replaced the valve, it took a bit under and hour and they charged $475. Which while not cheap is less than the last plumber I used who charged more than $600 for less than an hour of labor. read more

It was 7pm, I was giving the kids baths. I unplugged the drain to empty the tub and it was moving slow. All of the sudden my husband came running up to tell me it was raining in the kitchen. I Manage a 62,000 square foot industrial building, we were having problens with two sewer lines. Bates plumbing replaced our sump pumps a few years ago and we were happy with his promptness, professionalism, demeanor and more importantly the work. This time our hot water tank started leaking. We have used Bates Plumbing on several different occasions. The most recent was on December 23 when we had a seriously clogged kitchen sink, right before the holiday. They respond immediately and we have been able to get same day service, which is important in the plumbing business. They promptly fix our problem and are pleasant and knowledgeable. The charges are reasonable and in line with the services. This time we just had to have our pipes cleaned with a motorized auger and we were good to go. My only minor issue was we never received an invoice for the work that was done. Still highly recommend. read more

Highly recommend! Great service. Incredibly personable, responsive, and knowledgeable. Jonathan and Greg were great to work with from the initial consultation. We are doing a kitchen remodel and needed some plumbing work done. They itemized everything we wanted and quoted us for some additional work they recommended, never pressuring us to commit to anything more than what we felt needed. During a renovation, it gets very obvious very quick how contractors/vendors are inconsistent, unreliable, tell you what you want to hear, delivering on a mere fraction of those promises. How refreshing it was to work with these guys as they did everything they promised, were here when they said they'd be, responded almost immediately when we reached out with questions/concerns, and did an absolutely wonderful job in our home. To top it off, they went the extra mile, helping us out with a few random things we were working on our ourselves while they were here. That is going above and beyond, and you don't see many people willing to do that anymore. The cherry-topper is the fact that they were incredibly reasonable with regards to cost, and their services were worth every penny and more. We had a non-emergency dishwasher issue and they came out the next day. We also had them check out a few other items and they recommended replacing our water heater and sump pump, which were both very old. All the work was done efficiently and cost was reasonable. I called to have someone come out and replace the shower mixing valve. I had looked online how to replace it myself and found it could be tricky and expensive if you don't know what you are doing. Gregg and Mikey showed up at the appointed time. Very polite and respected my request to mask up. Yes I'm a "Boomer" with a condition. I appreciated that they agreed with no problem. They knew exactly what needed to be replaced. They had the part on the truck and quickly changed the cartridge. No problems They cleaned up and as they were leaving I asked if they descale tankless water heaters. Gregg said yes and gave me a price. Then he asked to see the tankless. He showed a real interest and said he would look into a question I had concerning the installation. I really was impressed by Gregg and Mike's courtesy, professionalism, knowledge and willingness to look into my questions. We had an issue with our shower in which it was leaking down to the main floor. It was completely unusable and was creating a major problem. Jonathon was out the very next morning and had the issue resolved same day. He was able to reattach the shower hose that had come disconnected behind the wall. They were done in a matter of hours and we're extremely knowledgeable and professional. On the way out, they noticed my kitchen sink faucet was loose and quickly jumped under the sink and tightened everything up. They also referred me to a great mold specialist who was able to confirm we did not have mold in between floors, which put my mind at ease. I was referred by a close friend and I would absolutely refer to others. They gained a customer for life. The 2 guys from this company just left my rental property and I couldn't be happier. I needed my sewer pipe rodded, and the only access is through the toilet drain. They got here a few minutes earlier than the 12-1 window I was given, which was perfectly fine by me, discussed the situation, then he got right to work. They were sure to be mindful of the mess that was inevitably going to occur, and cleaned up everything afterwards. They were informative, kept me in the loop with everything they were doing, willing to offer their professional opinion on all my questions, friendly, courteous. Mike & Greg were awesome! They arrived on time for their first appointment and kept in touch with me about their arrival time for the second appointment which was to complete the actual repairs for our leaking shower and power flush toilet. They both respected my home by wearing face coverings and kept their work areas neat and clean. In addition to the plumbing work that was needed for the leaking shower and toilet, they also fixed the body sprays in the Master Bath shower. After receiving an outrageous quote from another plumbing company that said we needed to do some major work due to the low water pressure the sprays were getting, (tearing out tile to completely update the body sprays, possible re-piping, etc) Mike just thoroughly cleaned the inside of the body sprays and Viola!! They now work as good as new and the water pressure had been and is just fine. I will definitely use Bates Plumbing again for any other plumbing issues we have. Sump pump Emergency. Labor Day weekend. I came home after being out of town to sump pump alarm and a pump not pumping but running and overheating. We had heavy rains and more was forecast for Monday labor Day. I called Saturday night and they scheduled me for Monday morning on Labor Day. They took apart my 2 pumps inspected and also cleaned out the sump pit where some small stones had accumulated. They put it all back together and tested everything and didn't leave untill I was satisfied. Long story, short...I live in Az. and my 86 year old Mom just got out of the hospital, super sick. I'm here caring for her and discover no hot water in most of the home. Contacted Bates through Home Advisor (the only operation to respond immediately) and they came out on Sunday, no extra charge. Wait. What?! Well, they weren't able to solve the whole problem that day or the next. My Mom's 60+ year old house needed some major plumbing love. These dudes were relentless and kind and more than fair.
