I needed to replace my utility sink in the mud room, which would require new pipes and shut off valves. I obtained an estimate from Gary after sending some photos of my job, and the final invoice was right in line with that initial estimate. I was able to get the work scheduled in a couple days, and the communication was great. I got text message alerts of arrival time window, and who would be coming. Once the Andrew and Gustavo arrived at my house on the day of the job, they were friendly and went right to work. They wore shoe covers when coming into my house, and they were very knowledgeable and communicated what they needed (like turning on the faucets in my bathrooms when the main water line was shut off). I had bought the utility sink that I wanted to replace my old one with so Andrew and Gustavo figured out the new piping that needed to be put in, and went the extra mile to make sure that the install of the sink was perfect by stabilizing the sink so it wouldn't be so shaky. The entire job took a little under three hours, and I was very pleased with the craftsmanship. All the work was explained to me. They truly live up to their namesake, Plumbing Pros! read more

I had a clogged main sewer line that was backing up in the basement and needed help clearing that out. I have no complaints about the service, as they came out the same day and were able to clear out the clog. However, they do not provide any transparency on their pricing and it ended up being considerably more expensive than the other companies I was looking into. I had called around to get some rough estimates on rodding out a sewer line and had received a couple of options. I tried to get similar information on what the service could cost from Plumbing Pros, but they were not willing to provide any pricing estimate information at all and said it would depend on what they find. I ended up taking the chance with Plumbing Pros in an effort to stay local(they are based right down the street from my house), instead of going with the out-of-town options that provided details on their pricing for different services. I figured that this company had great reviews so their pricing would be similar. It ended up costing $793 dollars to have my main sewer line rodded with an outside access point which took about an hour and a half total. I followed up the next day for a detailed invoice to see if there were some line items to help explain the quote/higher price. There were no details on the invoice, but I was able to find out that they charge a flat fee for rodding a main sewer line to the street up to 100 feet. I don't understand why this type of information couldn't have been shared when I called and tried to get some pricing details before making my selection if they have flat pricing for different services. Overall it ended up costing me an extra $250 to try and go with a local Downers Grove company without being provided an pricing details ahead of time. They did good and efficient work, but would prefer some transparency on the pricing ahead of time, especially now that I know how much more it was than the other guys. read more

After moving into our home we had a punch list of items that needed attention. We called Gary at Plumbing Pros and had him come over to take care of things. His expertise was so appreciated as he made suggestions to better our projects and his level of quality is off the charts! His team installed a new sump pump, a battery back up, changed fittings on an existing hot water heater, removed old piping that was not even attached but just cut and left hanging. Finally he discovered a potential problem in our main sewer line from the house to the municipal sewer system. Our neglected drain pipe had been overrun with roots and was desperately in need of clearing. I believe that had he not found this issue, we would have been in a terrible situation later. Thanks to Gary and the team at Plumbing Pros. Do yourself a favor and use them! read more

We were overcharged 3x for the **wrong service for a temporary solution that didn't fix the problem with the kitchen sink. The labors fees way exceeded the scope of work and we needed to find a new contractor to finish the problem. It's so unfortunate to feel taken advantage of as a young adult. read more

I highly recommend this business, Gary was there when he said he would be and went right to work. 20 minutes later he was done and I found myself a new plumber. read more

Our Hot water tank broke ( it was 20 years old) , so my husband called Plumbing Pros- they asked my husband to take pictures and they went and picked up a top quality Bradford White Defender safety system. Because my husband took pictures they were able to pick up other supplies and be at our house 4 hours later. Took out the old, installed the new in 2-1/2 hours. Sal is a professional, I appreciate his work style, clean, neat and very organized. Came the day we called! Amazing! Everything was $1800. read more

I could not believe what they charged for a simple job. It cost me $390 for him to put a PLASTIC shutoff valve on an existing 1/4" copper supply line for my refrigerator. The refrigerator installer said the valve probably cost $10 and should have taken only a few minutes to install. Plumbing Pros man argued that plastic was code, but the appliance guy didn't even want to connect to a plastic valve. It isn't like he included a trip charge because he was here anyway to repair my water heater. (The charge to replace the water heater controller was $889. I don't know if that was a good value or not, but you can buy a new uninstalled water heater for less.) I should have gotten multiple quotes first. read more

Called Gary to assist with a leaking toilet, he was able to get to my home within a couple hours. Incredibly quick response time and answered all questions accordingly. He and Rob were able to assess an issue with the wax seal and installed a new one to prevent any more leaks. These guys are super professional and extremely knowledgable, with pricing that is completely reasonable for the services provided. Can't go wrong with fast service at great prices, thanks again guys! Best, Charlie read more

Gary was fantastic! Quick to get me a quote and was able to get my project completed on a very short time frame! Highly recommend!

Knowledgeable and humble guy who believes in doing what he says he's going to do. Got a reliable quote from the beginning and service was completed the same day. Gary and his team are true professionals. read more

Service call took 17 minutes & he was done. That included the time to go out to his truck and get a part. Was charged $320 for the call, that included a $20 part. That comes to about $1200. /hour for labor. This doesn't sound very fair to me... read more

Pro came 5 min. early, looked at my problem, and gave estimate and a plan of action. I have to consult with my better half when given the price so he left without a charge for the visit. I like this buisness! read more

Plumber never showed after waiting 3 hours! Said the have Van problems and would be there tomorrow. I called to ask for compensation towards the $70 service fee for having to re-arrange my schedule for another day. The rep started getting nasty saying it wasn't their fault and I could just cancel. I stated I still want the service but should receive something off for waiting soo long plus another day. They offered $5 off and began getting smart saying it's not their fault I have water damage etc... telling me to just hang up and cancel. It was the rudest sassiest man I've ever dealt with in customer service! Don't use this company! read more

$300 to change a toilet valve kit? They took advantage of a senior citizen. This business is about to tank!

Updating my review. Today I had a hot water heater installed by Gary and his helper. Absolutely great service. Pricing was way less then the competitors. Keep up the great work. Hire them with confidence!! Great guys. Fair prices. They came to my house and told me what was wrong. I figured out I knew how to fix the problem. Gary told me if I run into any problems give him a call and he would talk me through it. My mother's got water tank bursts so I recommended plumbing pros to her. Great price very fast and thorough. She has a lot of stairs in her condo which made removal difficult. The guys got a little rust on the rug leading downstairs. They went out and bought rug cleaner and removed the stain. Great service guys. You have a customer for life. read more

Gary was awesome!!! First time using them and they were excellent. After 2 previous plumbers (and a lot of $$$) these guys did a great job and fixed my problem. They are very clean, professional and courteous. They came on time, communication was excellent and pricing was very reasonable. These guys are my new go to plumbers! I see why they have all of these good reviews. You just don't find guys like this anymore. read more

Ok, I'm going to pile on the mountain of 5 star reviews. Plumbing Pros came out to clear a blockage in the main sewer line at our house (it was roots!). Make Gary your go-to guy. My hot water heater kicked the bucket on a Friday afternoon. I called him, he did a virtual consult through text pictures, and came out the next morning with a new (hard to find) water heater and installed it. He even came over Friday night to empty my other tank just in case it started to leak. He was quick, competitively priced, knowledgeable, and reliable. Highly recommend! read more

Gary was phenomenal, quickly identified the issues, did a good job explaining what was going on even though I know nothing about plumbing and helped understand options to solve. Thanks! read more

Gary did a great job and saved us a ton of money. I highly recommend him. We had a toilet that started overflowing when anyone in the house used water. Gary got out here quick, cleared the blockage, and recommended next steps for us. We were going to use him to repair the larger issue that caused the blockage, but he let us know that there was a program that would do it for free--instead of us paying him. My family and I are so thankful we called him! read more

Dependable, quick response, professional and quality work. Third time we use their services for different projects/needs.

Gary with Plumbing Pros was super helpful over the phone even before coming out. He was the fifth business I called and definitely the most honest and up front plumber not to mention the most knowledgeable. I'll be using Plumbing Pros from now on! read more

Had one of those mornings where you wake up to find a small pond in your basement, the latest round of snowfall and a busted water heater. Oh yea, and with the Chicagoland's coldest temperatures in 20 years in the forecast. Needless to say, I wasn't having the best day ever. Fast forward a mere hour or so and the Plumbing Pros van pulls into the driveway. Long story short, Gary truly made my day much more tolerable with his prompt response, extensive knowledge of the situation at-hand and of course his true professionalism. And it was great to get the hot water flowing again. Thanks again, Gary. You have a new customer in me. read more

We needed to replace a water heater from a tank to a tankless unit. Gary and his team went above and beyond! I bid the job to three different companies, Plumbing Pros were the most competitive, professional, and responsive of the bunch. They even pointed out some issues with my existing furnace exhaust and modified for no additional charge. Excellent service that you don't often find these days! read more

Gary called me back within 2 minutes of me leaving a message ( around 8pm). Plumbing Pros has been great to work with. They respond quickly and explain everything in detail. I would highly recommend them!

We had an ejector pump issue in our basement and it was at night, so nothing was open, but again, I used Yelp messaging and I sent a message to Plumbing Pros. Gary was so nice and was sending me messages back and forth trying to give us solutions. The pump had failed, but he was able to come out the next day and replaced the pump. Gary was very knowledgeable and experienced. It's nice to have that in any service. I will definitely use them again, although I hope it's not anytime soon! read more

Plumbing Pros was very responsive. The evening we had a water heater go out they talked us through via texting how to shut off the broken heater so we could still get some hot water from the working one. They were out at 9am the next day to take a look and provide a quote. They were priced competitively and easy to schedule with. They ultimately replaced 2 water heaters quickly for us. read more

I started off telling them I needed a drawing to go with their work so I could move forward with my project. promised not provided! next I agee with others on here overpriced and confusing quotes. Poor service I paid to have someone trained. They constantly talked about their little gun collections also. In a word unprofessional. Just to echo again poor work and really listen to others call around you will save at least 1k - 2k. Still dont have the drawing and the shower valve is still a mess and leaks. read more

I called plumbing pros Wednesday morning and they were ready to come out immediately. I told them I worked until 4:30 and they accommodated me because they said they didn't want me to miss work! I couldn't believe it! Gary came out right after I got home from work and fixed my clogged sink in 10 minutes! I had been trying to fix it myself for the last month. I tried snaking my drains over and over again and used products from Home Depot but had no luck. Gary was also very patient with me and answered all the questions I had. I will definitely call Plumbing Pros any time I have a plumbing issue in the future. read more

Very professional. Gary always responds in a very timely manner. We have used this company several times. They put in a tankless water heater, runs beautifully. We were having difficulty with our sump pump, the motor was running continuously. Gary came out and diagnosed the problem immediately (the air was trapped in the pump) and fixed it and only charged us a service call. Recently he put in a new kitchen faucet, did a great job. Pricing very reasonable. This is our 'go to' company for all of our plumbing needs. Highly recommend this company. read more

I think this is my first ever Yelp review. I dont usually care too much about spending the time to make one. However, Gary and his team are my exception. He was easy to work with, prompt, responsive, up front and just plain ole helpful. He explained the decisions he was making instead of just doing, and frankly he saved both of us time by asking me to check out one more connection before he left and what do you know? It didn't work and Gary was able to tack it on to the list of things he helped me out with. Will definitely be calling Plumbing Pros back for any future plumbing work I need done. read more
