I called this company to repair my pellet stove over 3 months ago. Weekly, the 3 hour appointment window was cancelled (waiting around for a technician on a weekly basis was a real pain). I was understanding as to the cancellations as we were having a hot summer and I am sure that they were busy with air conditioners... my concern was heat, so I was not in any rush. Yes, waiting once a week for months wasn't ideal, but I wanted the unit repaired. The technician finally arrived in the end of August. Nice guy and he diagnosed the issue without really doing a lot of troubleshooting (the main panel was bad as I suspected all along). They had me sign a contract that specifically says '...Buyer may cancel this transaction at any time prior to the midnight of the third business day after the date of this transaction.' Additionally, I was required to pay a $306 deposit for the repair. I called this morning to cancel as I had already (2 weeks earlier) rodered a mini-split system (I thought keeping the pellet stove would be a good Idea, but thinking it through, not for $1700. The person who answered the phone (a man) asked why I was canceling - I told him why. He then proceeded to tell me that they had already ordered the part. I told him to send it back. He then asked what they were supposed to do with the part. He then stated that my deposit was non-refundable. On the contract, it CLEARLY states 'If you cancel, any property traded in, any payments made by you under the contract ... will be returned within 10 business days. Up until today, all my contacts with this company had been cordial and professional. Once I went to cancel, I got bullied. I don't feel that the cost of replacing a small panel is worth $1700 and seems a bit predatory. I will be reporting this business. read more

I discovered my AC went out at 9:45 pm on a Monday night. I called Shamrock HVAC at 9:55. The receptionist (a real person) took my information. The technician called at 10:00pm. He was here by 10:30 pm and by 11:05 pm my AC unit was fixed and running again. Nothing like having fresh cool air when it is the mid 90's. Thank you Shamrock for such great and attentive service. Furnace installed, good work and prompt. Yes, there was a price quoted and we accepted it, however, we were expecting to see an additional 5%-10% off the new equipment installed. This discount is per the 3 year club membership we signed up for on 8/20/21. We questioned the technician while he was here and his response was, you're getting the best price and the discount has already been factored in the price. Question back was how do we know? we want to see the math. I called the main office and the office manager stated we need to talk to the technician. I explained we already went down that path with him and could I talk to the owner. Office manager stated, 'oh, the owner will not call you'. Buyer beware: do NOT sign up for their "supposed" discount club membership. There is no transparency in their pricing. And think again to do business with this company, if they can't show the math, how do we know we got a decent deal? read more

We had moved into our current home literally at the start of the pandemic. The previous owner(s) had done some makeshift fixes to the furnace. We found that we had to replace the furnace. Shamrock's team recommended a furnace size appropriate for our home (didn't just try to recommend the largest/most exp one). They came and installed it without any trouble. The techs were very friendly and professional, and were very mindful of wearing masks and distancing considering it was early in the pandemic. read more

I got a quote to replace my humidifier with an Aprilare model 700M. I called the technician and asked if he could install a 700A which is automatic, He said he would do it for the price that he quoted. The 700 series has an internal fan. After he did the installation, the technician showed me what he did. He installed a cheaper and less efficient cross-flow unit, the Aprilaire 600A. He offered me 80 dollars off so I took it to get him to leave but I am annoyed. I did not get what I want, and I think I overpaid in the end because he replaced an old unit with a similar one instead of installing a new one that would mount on a different duct. I was pleased that they helped me with problems with a furnace that they installed last winter. I am not pleased about the humidifier. read more

Just about 8 years ago, I purchased a new heating and air conditioner from Shamrock. I had contacted them because my old system was leaking into my dining room ceiling. They told me it had to be replaced. I have had a problem with them since day one. A couple of weeks into the new system, I again had a leak through the ceiling. Which I had already fixed. This time they put a pump up next to the unit in the event there was excess water. Still, I had the leaking issue. I contacted them several times because the air was not working properly. every time they came out they had to replace freon, which I was always charged for. They were out several times with no resolution. Last year I called another company who again came out, added freon and was looking for a leak. I recently had a company come out who found the leak and will not work on Lennox products. States I need a whole new unit. They state it is the compressor/condensor, which should be a warranty repair. Even replacing parts the concern is that it has been running inefficiently for so long, that the other parts will not continue to work for very long. I am very disappointed with Shamrock and its installation and customer service. I would never recommend this company or product to anyone. I am a senior citizen on a fixed income and to have to put out that amount of money for a new unit is unacceptable. An 8 year old unit that has not worked from day one! I have repaired and painted my ceiling 2x and now it has to be done again. Terrible company. Does not stand behind their work or products. There should be some compensation for the aggravation that this company has caused. read more

Avoid. DO NOT use them if you have a Trane air filter- or anything other than a traditional mechanical air filter. In fact don't use them at all. And don't fall for the "discount club"-a total waste of money. For many years my parents used Shamrock for their annual HVAC maintenance. They have a Trane air filter- one of the most expensive. It's an electronic air filter, not a traditional mechanical filter. The filters are supposed to be routinely cleaned- not replaced- and other components need annual professional cleaning. Shamrock had NO IDEA what they were doing with this filter. Because they failed to clean it properly for years it now has to be replaced. Several components need replacing- almost the cost of replacing it entirely. They would literally take out the pre-filter, vacuum it, and put it back- that's it. For ten years- that is NOT the professional way or the best way to clean this. Which explains the very poor air quality in their house. I cleaned it (per the owner manual) better than they did. When fault codes indicated components needed replacing I called Trane and got the names of services actually trained to clean and maintain this filter. A new (reputable) service took one look at the filthy components from years of neglect and were shocked. They have NO BUSINESS working on these or cleaning these filters. Call the manufacturer of your air filter and make sure they are specially trained to clean and maintain it. read more

Always had a pleasant experience with these guys. But then again they were only doing an annual check up. Last visit out the guy recommended I replace the contactor on the AC. Charge was going to be six or eight hundred bucks. Maybe that's not outrageous unless you know a contactor costs $9. I got the part from a shop and installed it myself, it's like a light switch, wires in and out. Ridiculous. Because of this attempt at a rip off I decided to inspect the guys work. He was supposed to clean the AC and check it out. I popped off the cover and it was loaded with leaves and dirt! I took pictures and called the manager immediately. His response? He won't send that tech out to my property again. Didn't even offer to send someone out to do the job correctly. Again, RIDICULOUS. I'm done with them. read more

System performs beautifully and had Jonathan service tech to come and check on system twice a year and they also have option for inspecting your plumbing as part of the VIP service which is reasonably priced.Highly recommend! BEWARE. Bought a house where previous owner purchased new total hvac system with extended plan from Shamrock. Called them because the thermostat was wired WRONG, (when you tried to run the fan only, it wouldn't run, but the AC compressor outside would). Had all paperwork that it was their work, and still warranted. THEY WOULD NOT COME FIX IT without charging me. What kind of company would not move 2 wires to win over a customer?!! I live 1 mile from them...Un-freakin believable. I would NEVER use them. Later heard other stories about them - 4 out of 5 were bad. read more

My furnace stopped working last night, when it was approximately 2 degrees outside. I called FIVE places that offered 24 hour, emergency service. Two never called back, one said I lived too far away and one said he would come for $250 cash. That seemed a little shady. The last place I called was Shamrock Heating and AC and they were outstanding! The tech, Todd, didn't get to my house until close to 11pm. He fixed the blown fuse in the furnace and showed me where it was...just in case. He also took the time to clean up the wiring in both the furnace and thermostat, in hopes that that was where the short was that caused the fuse to trip. A reminder, it was LATE and he still took the time, when just replacing the fuse fixed my immediate issue. Just awesome service and I will always use them in the future! read more

I have used Shamrock for years and have always received great service. Last week, while talking on the phone with my aunt, she mentioned her air conditioner had stopped working. She call an area HAC company, paid for a service call, and was told her older air conditioner really couldn't be repaired because the part is not available, it's hard to get the part, and she should replace the furnace and air conditioner. It's hot and humid outside and she's without air! I told her about my positive experience with Shamrock and I'm not an easy customer! My aunt called me this morning to say she called Shamrock, they sent Todd to check it out and......Todd was able to do the repair and the house temperature is nice and cool. She thanked me for looking out for her....I've probably moved up to favorite niece status. read more

I got one of their flyers for $99.95 full checkup and full cleaning on your a/c and heating units; there was a list of several things on the flyer that they said they would service on and the guy that came out maybe did 4-5 of the things on the list (list had maybe 15-20). My furnace stopped working on a friday night and I waited until the morning to call to have someone come out. When I called for service Bob greeted me and explained they could have someone out within two hours(on a Saturday), and explained pricing to me. I would have just been happy to have someone come out at any time on a Saturday. He had his technician there in an hour! Technician was polite and professional and able to diagnose and explain repairs in 30 mins and had my heat working with a new circuit board within 90 mins. Couldn't have been happier, fairly priced and with service like theirs; even if they charged more than a fair price (which they didn't) it still would have been worth it with the great service they did and making my day easier during an unexpected situation. read more

Shamrock visited my home today for routine maintenance on my furnace before the winter hits(remember the polar vortex?!?!) The technician showed up on time and in a well-groomed, clean appearance. He explained to me what he would be doing today and answered the couple questions I had in a simple, yet non-condescending manner and then immediately got to work. In all, he was there for an hour and 10 minutes and the final bill met the estimate even tho he was there a little longer than quoted. I highly recommend Shamrock. Their service made me feel confident that the job was completed beyond my expectations and that I won't have anything to worry about this winter. read more

Due to very inefficient construction of our 2 story home, we had extremely low air flow on the 2nd floor and just one master air return on each floor. The 1st fl air return was on the same wall as our furnace which was just feet away from our family room. The lack of proper air return caused our furnace/ac unit to be VERY loud. We've spent the last few years constantly turning up the tv volume then down again whenever we watched tv or tried to carry on a conversation. Chris Morgan installed our heat/ac unit so we called him to see if he could work any miracles. And work miracles he did...he spent long hours at our home... relocated the 1st fl master return, added 2 additional returns, and converted an unnecessary heat vent into a return. This has reduced the furnace noise better than 50% as well as a big improvement in the air flow to our 2nd floor. We can now maintain the same temperature on both floors which was something we've never been able to do. Prior to Chris from Shamrock we had a few other HVAC contractors asking for the same help and told by all there's nothing we could do about it but Chris found a way...We are very grateful to Chris and will never use anyone else for HVAC needs...Thank you Chris for a job very well done! read more

Very dishonest company. The tech charged me for replacing a part that just needed to be cleaned. Plus showed me a supposed dirty fan inside the furnance that was on a camera. I dont even think it was my furnace. So I called out another company recently had someone out that did a clean & check. Run fast from this company. I had my AC units inspected last Spring at my residence and my rental unit. Two different guys with the same company told me that my dual run capacitor only had 1-2 months left and they had one in the truck that they could install for $280. That is a huge markup on a $15 part (went to supply house and they had my exact one in stock), and they have been running fine. read more
