Paul was our technician and he was fantastic. We are selling our house and the new buyers were concerned about the water heater leaking due to water on the ground. Paul walked in and within minutes identified the leak was on the out going pipe and the water heater was working perfectly. He fixed the pipe within 45 minutes and did solid documentation so the buyers could feel confident in his pipe repair and the condiction of the water heater. We are moving soon and we will continue to use Precision, hopefully, Paul in the future! read more

It was a difficult work order in my condo, and Howard was persistent until he identified the source of the problem and resolved the issue. I received a quote of $1,400 to have a chimney liner installed at my house. I called to set up the service and they ended up rescheduling on me twice. Not a huge deal, but not off to a great start. Once the guys showed up at my house to complete the job, they said the employee that originally quoted the job no longer works there and it would now cost over $4,000 to have the same job completed. Precision was not willing to honor the quote they provided. There is no time limit on the quote in order to complete the job. Total bait and switch. Avoid this company. I certainly will. read more

Our toilet and shower flooded, I was charge $1700 plus cleaning the root outside the house. They told I have one year warranty if it happens again. A week later the shower flooded again and clogged up. Call this company again and they said it doesn't cover the the warranty and they don't have tools to unclogged the inside the house problem. Initially we used them for a drain back up and they came same day. The guy was nice and he said we needed the line milled for $824. We are a 2 person household. He did shame our toilet paper choice. Lol. So we got it fixed out of necessity. Plus there was a 6 month warranty. 3 weeks later we had to call them again and the new guy gave me the same song and dance about TP. Now mind you my husband was out of town for nearly 3 weeks so it was just me. They said they couldn't reach the main from my clean out, they told me there were other residents tied into my line, that I needed an additional clean out in back yard (which no one in my 75 unit hoa has) and it would need to be jetted. Cost $5400. Plus they said I needed a pipe fixed underneath my floor for $8k. I called the city and several nice men came out and inspected the issue with cameras. They went all the way through my line with no issue and saw no other lines attached. They basically said these guys are trying to take advantage. And even if I needed a clean out installed it should cost no more than 1k. So SHOP around. And the man from the city said, when you don't have back up issues it's a good idea to fill up an upstairs bath tub full of water and drain it. He was great at identifying exactly where the gas leak was coming from and helped fix it at a reasonable price. I rarely write reviews but this company is a rip off!!!! My water heater was leaking. The guy they sent out immediately told me it needed to e replaced. I replaced it using them e en though they were MUCH higher than everyone else because I felt confident due to their google reviews! Big mistake!!! I should've read these yelp reviews. Google reviews must be fake. I'm they installed the water heater and 2 days later we still had the leaking problem. Clearly replacing the old water heater wasn't the solution. They came out again and are now telling me I need something else that would be another $280 after spending $2372 but their overpriced water heater. I could've just spent $280 in the first place and kept my old water heater. Instead the salesman was just trying to make a sale and didn't even care about finding the real cause of the leakage. Oh and they also came out to inspect my moms water heater leaking from the top. He recommended hers be replaced too even though it was only 1 year old. We had someone else come out the next day and completely fixed her new water heater!!! Their solution to everything is replace instead of trying to fix it! CONSUMER BEWARE!! Wish you could select no stars... I called Precision Today when my hot water heater was leaking and water was coming through the walls of my neighbor's home below me. A plumber from this company arrived within an hour and, after completing an assessment, presented me with four options ranging from $4500-$10000. I was in disbelief that the cost of replacing the unit would cost this much. My neighbor was very upset and, in a panic, I asked him to just replace the unit...don't want the service plan and all the other upselling he was trying to do. A few hours later, the job was done and I was presented with an invoice for $4572.00...unbelievable. The invoice did not break down the cost of materials or labor. I asked for this and the plumber said that they do not provide this information. After a few phone calls to the company, I finally received and email (not a revised invoice) that stated the materials costs were $2765.38 and the total cost of the job including travel, assessment fee, and 1 year warranty came to $4572.00. Simple math tells me that they charged me $2293.38 for labor. At best, it took the plumber 3 hours to complete this job which equate to $760/hr for labor...really? It's hard for me to believe that this company can take advantage of people and have a 4.94 rating with the BBB. I'm left with the question, "Do they pick and choose who to take advantage of? Maybe single women who are in a panic situation with water leaking in their home?" It can't be true that all these folks who give them high ratings are very satisfied if they had been ripped off too. read more

Called and they said they'd be out later in the day. Then they called and said they were backed up and couldn't come until the next day between 9am & 10am. Took the morning off of work. Their tech got into a car accident which becomes my problem because now they can't get someone out until later in the day, but couldn't provide an exact time. Dude shows up at 12:30 and tells me to clear my main line is $1500. Wow. Really. Sent him on his way. So they suck with appointments, over charge for routine tasks and are overall shady. I literally called and begged for someone to show up for an appointment they made just to have them jack up the price on what should be a $300-$600 job. My advice would be to NOT use these guys unless you have endless time to wait and endless cash to burn. I have neither. read more

Bad news!!! technician Hazim Qaisi "Carlos" came out to clean & check. I was still on my way home as my wife was there. Made me aware of problems w/furnace. By the time I got home, showed me pics on his tablet of burn spots on circuit board & worn spots on heater exchanger. Potential fire & carbon monoxide hazard. Before I knew it, we talked about replacement & cost. WOW! $14,000+ for a furnace & humidifier in our avg size 1,800 sq ft raised ranch home. I think not. Bottom line, it scared us into replacing with another company for under $5,000. We contacted our family member at All temp heating/ac to help us. Made an exception for us because we live out of their area. We chose to replace without another $100 clean/inspect visit. All temp installed & I looked at old furnace after removed & taken apart. I DIDN'T NEED IT. My mistake was not asking Carlos @ Precision to show me my furnace & not those pictures that were not of my furnace. My circuit board was clean as was my heater exchanger without any worn spots. I could've made the biggest mistake, by buying the $14,000 furnace from Precision. They've helped us w/plumbing repair, but no more. They are expensive & not honest. Carlos was friendly & even tried to offer 20% for his last stop of the day, per his text from boss. An "oh by the way" sales tactic. You think their honest because Carlos emailed some of the pics of our unit. he rigged furnace to make a noise when he showed me. But I first suspected something was wrong, when the noise stopped when he left. read more

While we slept overnight we had sewage backup in our main floor that ruined two bathrooms, our office, and half of our living room. We worked with our insurance and restoration company to get everything fixed but had to outsource the plumbing to Precision Today. We hired them to do a 15k job which included breaking a part of our new driveway to fix a pipe that was misaligned. They told us that after that was repaired in the morning, in the afternoon the concrete guy would come to repair the hole. Well he didn't come. He stood us up over half a dozen times over the next couple of weeks and after talking to the GM about how ridiculous it is I have had to chase them to do the work and that they were paid in full, the concrete guy came at 7:45 pm and worked with 15 minutes of sun and then by light of an iPhone. Not only was he rude but did a horrible job in the dead of night. I am 100% positive the concrete will crack once it gets cold outside. The worst part is I let precision know and they were unapologetic, although they said they would fix it they have not. I could write more but do yourself and your bank a favor pick another company to do your job. I wish we had. read more

I have had Precision out a couple times for emergency service on my boiler and on a positive note they were quick to come. Every time they came they would fix the problem but it would only last 2 weeks and then something else would go wrong. The last time they came out we were told we needed a whole new boiler and were quoted $9,000! Now I am a contractor and I can tell you this price is RIDICULOUS for one day of work. So we did what every home owner should do and got two more quotes. The second company quoted us $4,000. Big difference already. The third company, who we ended up going with, trouble shot our unit and said they sell a complete rebuild kit that will make this boiler good as new in no time. Our tanks and everything were sufficient its just the mechanics were going so why get a whole new boiler when you can just rebuild this one. $1,300 later we had heat! I would suggest Precision if you are in a pinch and need emergency service but for non-emergency repairs, shop around. read more

This, after both the technician and the Service Manager informed me that I would only need to have a camera inspection every 6 months before replacing the pipes. And worse yet, this after they GUARANTEED me it was safe to proceed with renovations and carpet installation in my basement, which I did. BBB Complaint Filed... I used Precision last December to install a dishwasher and fridge I bought. That cost me $640 for less than a few hours work. I felt ripped off and called to complain ( the fridge and dishwasher cost barely over that) As time went on, the dishwasher wouldn't clean very good and it wasn't securely tightened in the area it was installed. It got to the point where the other day it didn't drain at all so I called Precision ( this was last Sat am) I left a message to have dispatch call me to set up and appointment. I got a call back 4 hours later apologizing for the delay and to call back. I did call back and guess what??? It's Wednesday and I haven't received a call back. First, the good: their reception/dispatch was very friendly and responsive when I called, and they were able to get me scheduled for the next morning, which was great. Also, the $59 service fee to come out was reasonable, assuming that the job would be accurately diagnosed. Now, for the not-so-great and the reason I felt it would be helpful for me to leave this review to give others a heads up: Also, when I made the appointment, I asked if they would be sending a licensed plumber, and I was told that all of their plumbers are licensed and bonded. The guy/tech who came out was not actually a plumber, he was a sewer & drain guy, which I was okay with - but he was not licensed, so being told that they only send licensed plumbers was not in fact the case. He was friendly, professional and respectful of my home, though, so no complaints with who they did send out. The reason I did not choose to select Precision Today is because their PRICES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH. My problem was straight forward, my kitchen sink was not draining. The tech seemed confident (while did not guarantee) that the line just needed to be rodded. My husband had tried rodding it himself, but the store bought rodder he got was not long enough to fully snake the pipes and locate the clog (assuming there is one). I had already priced out rodding with a local, family-owned plumbing company that had been recommended by a neighbor but did not have an available appointment until later, so I knew what the going rate was. Precision's quote was MORE THAN DOUBLE what it would cost me with another plumber who charges $125 trip charge plus $100 per hour, assuming it would take up to 2 hours. The job would have to take over 5 hours @ $100/hr to cost us as much as Precision's most 'basic' rodding service offered. And, you have to agree to pay that without a firm cause determined, with no guarantee that rodding will even address the issue. I was not willing to 1) overpay for rodding, or 2) pay for rodding then pay who-knows-what to have them then check the vent (which appears to be the other potential cause of the problem). read more

My wife and I used Precision two years ago when our drains were backing up. They had to clear (rod) the sewer line to the street. They did a good job, I just thought that they were really expensive. We just had to have another section of the house done and we decided to go with someone new because of cost. The new company rodded a new portion of the drain lines and also redid the same line to the street since they were here and had everything set up. I was shocked when we only had to pay one fifth of the cost that we paid Precision, and the new company did more work! While Precision did good work, I can't recommend them since they are just way too expensive. read more

After a month of showering at the gym I told my boyfriend to swallow his pride and call a plumber to fix the water heater. I called Precision Plumbing and they showed up at the house in less than 1 hour with a courtesy call ahead of time. Phil was the plumber they sent me and was very cordial. I explained what was wrong and expressed how cost efficient I wanted the service to be. Phil took a quick look, fixed the problem and was able to give me a run down of what wires were misplaced (I'm guessing my boyfriend was trying to "fix" this on his own no doubt). The price was not a bargain but not expensive either. When it comes to plumbing in your house, I always say pay the necessary amount to get the job done right. Phil was nice enough to wave a couple minor fees and he shouldn't have. My call was answered within an hour, the job was finished within 30 minutes, customer service was superb, and Phil was helpful and considerate. I would recommend Precision Plumbing to any one and I plan on using them in the near future for any plumbing services. read more

I first came to know this company while house sitting for some friends, and was impressed with their honest assessment of the situation. They did good work but didn't rack up huge fees for what they did. What I remember most about the encounter was their refreshingly honest approach. As a homeowner with limited knowledge of how to diagnose and correct plumbing problems, I appreciate someone who is honest. We had them out today to our own house based on my initial experience with them, and while the tech was a different person than the first one I met, this guy was every bit as honest as the other one. Very happy and pleased all the way around with the services I recently recieved from Precision. Being a first time home owner, I was clueless as what to do when my furnace wasn't working. The first business I called, was quite short with me and insisted that the furnace had to entirely be replaced, with out even looking at it first. I felt like I was being sold by a Used Car Sales Man. The second call I made was Precision, there were polite, knowledgeable, and very professional. They didn't try diagnosing the problem, before coming out to my house (Within 2 hours from my call). It turned out that it was ONLY the ignitor, which I was completely relieved of considering all the damage I did shopping over the holidays! The guys also went the extra mile and replaced my broken humidifier, and at NO charge. Needless to say I will be their customer for life.... It's pretty sad to me that more businesses, especially in an economy that we're in don't realize the "crucial" value in not only meeting , but EXCEEDING a customers expectations... read more

Gentleman that came out was polite and professional took a look at what I had going on and gave me a quote to do the job for somewhere between $950-1000 I cant recall the exact number because I was pretty taken back on the cost. We discussed all the options-our water heater had leaked all over our basement!-so we needed a new one. He went over all the different options and we finally decided on one which he would install first thing the next day. Billy was there again at 8:00 on the dot! Very expensive and very disappointing. I hired this firm to assess and repair a water leak in a vanity. They charged me $631 just to look at the leak and quote me around $5000 to reconnect the vanity (suggesting that I needed another company to actually do the work). Their 'house call' was really a sales call to promote their business and their associates. Once in my house, their representative harassed me to use other companies that they were associated with. They apparently are very good at 'shilling' (def: A shill, also called a plant or a stooge, is a person who publicly helps an organization without disclosing that they have a close relationship with them). Just look at their reviews on Yelp! and the number of 5-star reviews with only 1 or 2 postings. The also fund a pay-forplay magazine EBSCO Reviews to hype their business These are first rate scammers. My advice: join Angei's List and find a respectable plumber. read more

We are putting a new countertop in our kitchen. The countertop company had a plumber and he came out and took out the sink but would not come back to hook the sink back up because he claims the countertop people took too long. He couldn't wait and wouldn't come back.We were out of kitchen sink, laundry and dishwasher for four days because the companies said that they would send someone else but they didn't show up. We were stuck. We called precision. They came out the technician was very nice but I could not believe the price of just hooking up a sink! I could not recommend this company. We arrived home yesterday to find that the sillcock on the front of the house was leaking. Two years ago it leaked and ruined our finished basement. You can imagine my horror to see it leaking again in two years time.The materials used to replace the sillcock had begun to disintegrate on the inside. Plumbing costs are expensive. When we moved here from Naperville four years ago we needed to find a new service provider for plumbing, heating and cooling. We tried a few and have settled on Precision. As others have mentioned, everyone, from the people that answer the phone to those that show up and do the work, is extremely polite and professional. They confirm and reconfirm the day and time of the appointment and are always on time. They clearly explain the problem and offer multiple solutions to correct the situation. We are big fans and the only reason they did not receive five stars is they can tend to be a tad high in their pricing. read more

Horrible service -- and communication. We have been trying to get some new Kohler vessel sinks installed to no avail. A week later on the date they scheduled they never made it due to the plumber being called to some "emergency". They came out the next day only to tell us they were only there to estimate and could not schedule until the next week. We gave them model numbers and scope on the original call. And their estimate was $2200 - even though the new sinks are a replacement for sinks installed in a 15 year old home. Avoid this company ! read more
