Bought a solid surface kitchen countertop a few years ago and the process was horrible and I was told the patterns and seams would be blend, but it did not and Precision would not make it right, to add insult to injury the seam that does not match is coming apart and when I called to see if they would fix or help, I was told it was not covered under warranty. In 2018 we had this company install new counters and a sink via Home Depot. Issues began immediately. After a few hours of setting up fancy measuring equipment they had measurement to cut off of. When the employees came to install, the measurements were incorrect so they left. The installer did quick measurements with a tape measure. Days later they were back with the counters. The textures of the counters were swapped. The island was supposed to be the rougher finish and the counters smooth. The colors were also swapped. We had them install with the incorrect surface and color just to get it over with. The installer then had to grind the counters on the island to get the stove to fit. Fast forward to 2026 and our kitchen sink is falling. The reason 2x4s were screwed in to the cabinets to hold up the sink just on the sides instead of using the proper sink mounting clips. I understand that it has been years but they installed the sink incorrectly and want $200.00 to come out and install it correctly. Home Depot contacted them for me and the $200.00 charge to correct their faulty install was their response. I then called them myself and had to leave a message, they never bothered to respond. Hire Precision at your own risk. I would NEVER hire them again. The designer at Home Depot/Precision made the arrangement for a 3 inch x 36 inch piece of quartz at the back of a slide-in range. The piece was glued only to a 3/8 inch piece of cabinetry -- as I later learned after it fell off! When I requested they recut a larger piece to avoid a narrow strip alone, I was told they could not do that with Dektron, the countertop product. I should have been told this in the beginning, rather than sold a faulty product. Now they're trying to patch it up at my expense. I'm livid. I paid for what I expected to be an upgraded countertop, not a patchwork sloppy job. Not only that, when they installers came out, they failed to put any sealer/grout around the backsplash, failed to clean up, left water leaking from a pipe in the wall and just placed a bucket under it. If I had not seen it, my house would have flooded. The installers were two of the stupidest people on two legs. I have now had two complaints about Precision made to the national headquarters in Atlanta. I am now taking this to the state attorney general. Home Depot/Precision owes me a new countertop -- plus the cost of installing a new sink. The liability is theirs. read more

I would like your assistance in resolving an issue with the installation of a countertop in which I contracted with Bothell Home Depot.  I have been attempting to work with home décor department for more than a year, but without success. I contracted with HD in the June of 2022 for a replacement countertop for my backyard kitchen.  HD subcontracted the work to Precision Countertops, who coordinated a visit for detailed measurements. My dealings with Precision Countertops representatives were a constant struggle in communication due to the apparent lack of subject knowledge, summarized here and further described below: (in countertop measurements and design): ·      Countertop measurements ·      Outdoor countertop design ·      Corian Installation Countertop Measurements Precision Countertops representatives came to measure a second time, as the first representative apparently didn't get all the required measurement details.  As it turned out, even the second representative didn't get the measurements correct, causing the sink opening to have the wrong backset from the counter edge. Outdoor Countertop Design During the second measurement visit by Precision Countertops, my husband queried the representative about installation details, as he was familiar with the prior installation.  The representative was asked if they were familiar with installation of a countertop on brick, to which he responded "yes." The representative was surprised to learn from my husband that exterior plywood was required for support of the countertop rather than the MDF that Precision Countertops planned to use.  As is well known, MDF is inappropriate for wet environments.  As noted in the Measurements and Installation sections, the Precision Countertops do not appear to know that brick kitchen counters require a greater backset than typical interior kitchens. Corian Installation My outdoor kitchen counter is long, about 13 feet.  As expected, for ease of installation, Precision Countertops prepared my countertop in two segments to be glued and blended on-site. First Installation attempt As previously mentioned, the first installation attempt of the countertop failed due to having an incorrect sink backset from the counter edge.  Upon noticing that the hole for the sink conflicted with the brick façade, the Precision Countertop installers removed that segment of the countertop, re-measured, and departed to cut a new top.  That took a few weeks to perform and reschedule. Second Installation attempt During the second installation attempt, I noticed that the two countertop segments were different colors.  The Precision Countertop workers agreed that there was a difference.  They asked if the difference was OK, to which I said, "No, please stop the installation."  The Precision Countertop workers returned to their office with the two countertop segments. Over the next few weeks (yes, weeks!), I conversed with representatives at Precision Countertop.  At first, they told me that the two countertop segments were the same.  I advised them of the observations of their installation team and recommended they check the colors in outdoor light.  After another week, they agreed that the colors were different. Rescheduling took another few weeks due to their backlog.  The third installation attempt seemed (at first) to be completed successfully, though it was September, past summertime barbeque season.  Third Installation attempt Right after the Precision Countertops team departed, I noticed no caulking between the back of the countertop and the brick backsplash.  I contacted Precision Countertops again about the omission and was told that it would take a few weeks for them to return.  Rather than wait another few weeks, I had my Plumber caulk the countertop-to-backsplash seam while the weather was still dry. Another problem By January 2023, I noticed that the splice seam between the two countertop segments had started to crack (refer to picture).  This surprised me since the countertop hadn't been used due to the onset of fall and winter.  In the 18 years of the prior Corian countertop, such a problem never occurred, so the crack in the new countertop was unexpected. read more

Bait and switch, aggressive pursuit of extras for pricing, perfunctory cleanup at best, and to top it off, poor customer service after the install. Installers were fast, professional at install but not too interested in having anyone present or to check their work. 1) Broke off piece of wood above dishwasher and now it wobbles when you pull trays out, but said, "You don't need." And left. 2) was charged for work they didn't do. I was told the haul out was based on "square foot of old countered hauled out" but they only hauled out 1 of 3 big pieces but still charged me for hauling all 3. I was told if they hauled less, then we'd be charged less. Noe they say, since we asked them to haul less, we still have to pay for them hauling all 3! 3) The field measured not only measured wrong and they had to cut off 1/2 inch in field and polish the end. Field work is way less quality than factory ends. But field guy aggressively got more than $700 in extras that I thought should be part of a complete bid to begin with. read more

I considering a Precision Countertop from Home Depot but they seemed confused about the options so I paid a premium and ordered directly from the company. They seemed competent but they did not correctly measure the bottom clearance for my cooktop (See photo 1) and it was left sitting on wooden blocks 5.5 inches above the countertop (See photo 2). They left it there and said it was my problem and I should have an HVAC tech perform the trim. I have been unable to get a an HVAC tech for this simple task and PCT says it's "my problem". read more

This was part of the Home Depot kitchen install service. First, they measured the sink hole size wrongly. While installing, the staff caused damage to both cabinets and the new countertop. The sink was nearly damaged as they wanted to trim under sink channel to fit the countertop hole. It's a nightmare for all the imperfections that I had to accommodate due to their lack of precision and skills. I recommend going to a different contractor to get your countertop install. For the over mount sink install, after reading the install manual, they didn't drill the clip to secure sink using the under sink channel, they only applied silicone around it. I only realized this after cleaning up and seeing leftover hardware. Unbelievable! It's an expensive lesson learnt. Scheduling crew was great and prompt. People are nice but I didn't get what I paid for and have to live with it. I hope the sink stays in place and no leaks. read more

Been a GC for around 15 years and I've never had a sub (Precision) have such ridiculous scheduling policies. Went with a Home Depot order this time and had no idea they'd select an out-of-state company paying local freelancers to put on a t-shirt and do installs for them. The biggest issue was that they wont' schedule the template until confirmation of a 100% complete cabinet install. Now, think about that for a minute! We builders are all 1 year out for the most part (or more). If I schedule my cabinet installer (who is also 9 months out) but, can't schedule another sub (such as Precision) until it is confirmed the cabinets are done, we're talking about home build schedules being something like 5-10 years. Unfortunately Tabitha and others I spoke with did NOT understand basic building norms or even just base logistics or didn't care. Unfortunately, i did not find this out until was getting to be too late to cancel the order and deal with another installer. Complaint sent to Home Depot. They are lucky this particular project was my own house and I was willing to deal with multiple months more delays, or they would have had a lawsuit on their hands. As far as the installer and quality it was OK. I can put up with a lot of rude people. The installer knew I was a GC but treated me like a home owner and I didn't appreciate the dumb Q/A session he insisted on. But, whatever. In the end they did the work. Cabinet installer was kinda irritated because we couldn't give a timeline on when he could come back for uppers due to Precision's absurd scheduling policy. read more

My countertops were suppose to be installed last Tuesday, the installer no showed and did not call or message me. Since it was supposed to be an afternoon install they were closed by the time my appointment window expired. The next day I gave them a few hours after opening for them to contact me. I called "Precision Countertops," when I was talking to the rep they didn't know what was going on and they would call back. I gave it another few hours, I had to call them back again! This time talking to Rachel, I also informed her of this as she didn't know what was going on and was going to get me scheduled. I had to use vacation time to be present for the install. I asked what compensation I would be getting for the no show/no call, it was ignored and said the best they could do was a week out. That had to be rescheduled because myself nor my wife could be home on that date. The next date we got was 2 weeks out. Now we have to go without kitchen and bathroom countertops and unable to use our sinks. They were more than willing to charge me more money if I wasn't home or have things ready for them to make the templates or install the countertops! We have been looking for new countertops for 2+ years and never found anything that we loved. We ran across Precision Countertops and decided to stop in and just look. We met Chad and he was so helpful. He explained the pros and cons of each material and left us to look at samples. He brought us a drawer from his cabinet, which was close to our kitchen cabinets, so we could see how the countertop would look. We found exactly what we were looking for, and right there, Chad entered our dimensions and provided an estimate. He let us borrow the sample so we could see it in our home and match a tile backsplash. Chad thoroughly explained the process from order to install. We were assigned a project manager who communicated every step of the way and the process went very quickly and very smoothly. Chad steered us in a direction for vendors to complete our kitchen redo. Upon install we discovered that our sink, purchased from Precision as well, was missing the drain accessories and our plumber was coming the next day to connect everything. I texted Chad, after 5 pm, and he was at my door early the next morning with the parts we needed. What service!!! We are very happy with our end result and know we made the right decision on trusting Chad and Precision Countertops with our kitchen/fireplace makeover. read more

Be prepared to suck up a day of no pay when they don't show up!! They will take your money and in return disrespect your time. Went through Home Depot for new countertops - Precision Countertops. Had an appointment for a Monday, I took the day off work with NO PAY, and had a 9 am -12 pm window. At 12:15 pm no one had shown up, and suddenly got a text saying my appointment had been rescheduled to Wednesday. I called and was then told that they had both "techs" call out that day, and I was rescheduled for Wednesday. This meant I needed to take another day off work with NO PAY to be there. Although my "project manager" Judy was very apologetic, when I asked for compensation for having to take an extra day off with no pay, I was told the countertops would need to be installed, and the job completed before they would consider any sort of compensation. How convenient for them - they have my money, including additional charges for the steel reinforcement for the bar overhang. Ironically, when I called the office, Judy was no longer available, and no one would talk to me on the phone after that, everyone went missing. My countertops were installed 2 weeks later. They day after install, I received a phone call from the bookkeeper (why her and not m project manager?!) to ask how my install went... I asked again about compensation, to which she said she would ask my project manager about. She left me a message 3 days later telling me I would receive no compensation. Bottom line - their staffing issue became costly for me, missing out on two days of pay. I would not recommend going through Home Depot (they only use Precision Countertops) for your project. Find a different source. I love my countertops, but the service was s**t, no respect for their customers time, but they will gladly take your money -- I should have cancelled and gone elsewhere!! read more

RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!! ZERO STARS!! Do NOT go to Home Depot for your new countertops/backsplash as long as they are dealing with Precision. In June of this year we went to HD because we were looking at remodeling our Kitchen. I explained to the associate there that we have NEVER done anything like this before. She took my measurements that I provided and I picked out my granite, she said someone would be contacting me to schedule a time for Precision to come out and do proper measuring. I paid $3600 and she explained to me that there may be a difference in the measurements that I had provided and may be an extra charge, another $1300 Precision charged me, which was fine, I was expecting that. Meanwhile, my project coordinator, Cherice, with Precision, was explaining to me the process, we started discussing my backsplash and Cherice told me if I use the same materials (the granite I had chosen) that there would be NO extra charge for the backsplash. Basically talking me out of doing a tile backsplash. I'm like, "Wow, ok, let's do that then instead of paying more for a tile backsplash!" What do I know, right?? When the guy came to do the initial measuring, we were discussing the backsplash as well and I told him what I had been told regarding the backsplash, he disagreed, so I had him call Cherice, which he did, and there AGAIN there was no mention of an extra charge for the backsplash. They came out in August, the 26th, I believe, tore out the countertops and backsplash, and installed my new countertops. Cherice had told me that someone would be out the next day to measure for my backsplash, which they did. I asked her when this would be installed and she said as soon as she gets the template we can schedule an installation (Again no mention of any additional charges). A few days later I received another bill from Precision for $2800 for the backsplash. I called and spoke with Jessica and told her what Cherice had told me about the "no extra charge" for the backsplash and I was told she no longer works there and has no idea why she would have told me that. NOT my problem. I told her to go back and listen to my recorded phone conversation with Cherice. She and her manager allegedly did. Jessica calls us back and admits that Cherice "used a poor choice of words" when explaining everything to me. I went back and forth with her to no avail. She said she would pass this off to HER manager as theres nothing she can do. Even though she admitted at least PARTIAL fault. Like I said, I know nothing about doing projects like this and I am willing to take partial responsibility as well for misunderstanding Cherice BUT they had several opportunities to clarify everything and they failed to do that. I also asked her if she was aware how horrible Precisions Yelp reviews are and all she had to say was, "Yelp blackmails companies to pay them so they will delete their bad reviews." I told here I don't know how Yelp does business but it sure is curious how I'm having the same issues as other dissatisfied customers on Yelp. They have made errors in the work, never responsive, make us wait whole day on the appointment day etc. But biggest problem is low quality of work. Huge gaps behind backsplash. Before installing backsplash, industry standard is to prep the drywall before if it is bowed by either recessing the high points or building up the drywall mud. Their policy is, "we just do countertop, not my job." So we ended up with huge gaps filled with caulk that is sinking into the gap and filling with debris, and the company refuses to fix the problem. read more

We used Precision for our quartz kitchen counters a few years back. We had wonderful service and the installers were great. (There are slightly different overhangs on the different sections, but it's not super noticeable, about 1/8th inch difference). Can't even really see the seam between the 2 sections. They didn't do a great job sealing around the sink though and it resulted in water dripping around the edges and on to top of the cabinet doors below. I've fixed the seal around the sink by adding more caulk, but the damage to the paint is done already. 3 years later we go to update the dining room and add a built in bar. We again went through Home Depot for the cabinets and counters. I picked a quartzite this time with a beautiful design. I realize everyone is busy recently and we waited. Template was schedule for 4/1 and was done super quick. They scheduled the install for 4 weeks later. I took the day (4/28) off work to have the install done finally. They showed up in the arrival window and installed the top, but then didn't have the backsplash. The top piece was clearly marked with a sticker that said 2 of 2 pieces but the guy that loaded it used the excuse that he didn't scroll over enough on his tablet to see the other piece and clearly they don't do quality check when they load. They said it should be easy to get someone to bring it out later, but that day was shot. I called the coordinator and asked to have it done the next day (it should not take more than 20-30 min to install that section) and I had that day off work already. They called back and said they couldn't install till Monday (5/2), but I couldn't take any more time off work, so I scheduled it for the following Thursday (5/5) but said I had to leave the house by 11:20, so I needed to be first in the 8-11 window. They said that wasn't a problem. On Thursday morning no call by 9:30 so I called them and come to find out the guy hadn't left the warehouse and would be there by 1100. Fine it should be quick. He showed up a bit after 1100. Thankfully it was quick and they left at 11:25. If you don't mind the wait they do a good job, but be expected to wait several weeks. read more

I used Precision Countertops through Home Depot. The only area of improvement would be for the face of Precision Countertops. This is the person that set up my initial appointment with Troy Scott, the estimator, I almost walked away from this company because of my encounter with this person, I think this person's first name is Scott. He was short with me when I asked questions, he said things like "if you be quiet, I'll answer your question". I'm glad this initial negative impression with Precision Countertops did not set the tone for this business transaction. I am satisfied with everything and everyone except the person (Scott?) that set up the appointment for the initial estimate. Countertops were installed with some damage incurred during installation by installers leaving and placing tools on top of new countertop, creating gouge, and an uneven countertop with edges that were specifically requested to not be added to order causing 1/2 inch higher countertop on smaller 15 inch left side cabinet of stove. Not only does this look horrible, but I am unable to use 1/2 of my stove to prevent burning on sides placed that were specifically requested not to be included. Customer Service from that point on was non-existent. We left multiple voice messages, requesting a phone call back so we could discuss the issue with a person directly and all we received were two text messages basically saying they can't do anything for us. Yet their installers are responsible for incorrect installation and damages which could easily have been adjusted while they were on site. We were the last install of the day on July 3, 2023, and the install was completed in just under 1 1/2 hours. We felt they took less care and work performed in a hurry so installers could get on with their holiday. We were unable to get on with our own 4th holiday however, as we had to wait 24 hours, which was not an issue at the time, to be able to place back our stove, and install our sink and plumbing. This was done between 3 and 4 PM on the Fourth of July by us and it was at that time we noticed the uneven countertop and gouges that were created. We did take pictures of installers tools placed on the countertop, which caused the damage and pictures of the issues with the uneven countertop installation on one side of the stove. As this was subcontracted through Home Depot, and we have been in contact with them as well with little or no response other than the great response from the original sales associate who came to our home to create the original order, and has been attempting to assist us, we highly recommend finding your countertop and installation somewhere else. read more

We had a hard time choosing our countertops but the nice lady at Home Depot finally steered us to one. Little did we know that it would be the easiest part of our journey. We had no control over who they got to install our countertops and sadly they chose Precision. Not only did it take a long while to get things arranged with them but the work they did was very poor. I felt the staff I talked with and Corresponded with was not pleasant. As long as you did things they wanted then they were nice. But challenge some things in a kind manner and you are getting the transfer. We live out of town, but when in town, Sadly, when we could to see the completed work we found that the counter of one bathroom was way off. Hard to believe the installer could do this with a good conscience. Instead of dealing with the company any longer we used a handy man whom we trusted to do some fix for us out of our own pocket. I would not recommend Precision Countertops at all. From beginning to end the experience was stressful and unpleasant. read more

9/1/21: Ok, the 9/1/21 installed countertops look and feel great! The Installers won me over with their excellent job installing and are very professional, personable and knowledgeable. Promote and recognize them. I realize they are the tip of your business, but they are representing you very well. Earlier: On 7/15/21 template visit, which they already delayed in scheduling since May, they said countertop install would be on or about 8/5/21. On 7/27/21, they said soonest install is 8/17/21 and directed removal of old counters and sink prior. On 8/16/21, with kitchen cleared out and old counters removed, they cancelled citing multiple reasons, with nothing rescheduled thus far. Tremendous inconvenience with rescheduling business travel and work to accommodate their non-performance and problematic scheduling. read more

Going on One month and my countertop issues still exists. Everything was going well UNTIL Install day and then what was to be a beautiful finished countertop was a complete DISASTER!!! Sadly , I do not recommend and if you already ordered please do not allow CJ to install!! This company, Home Depot and Caesar-stone need to cut ties if this is the kind of product they are putting out! Absolutely Unsatisfactory. Paid $7000. 00 for new kitchen counter tops including breakfast bar top. After install, they wanted to charge me more money to secure bar counter top to the pony wall using the existing corbels. Not sure why they would install a heavy slab of quartz and not secure it to the pony wall. Project managers danced around making it right. I should have listened to the other reviews. We ordered the countertops from Home Depot. Home Depot has been great. Precision Countertops, not so much. The installer made a rookie mistake when cutting the backsplash and didn't tape the cut before making it. The laminate chipped all the way along the cut. Instead of owning it and we could have addressed it then, he installed the damaged piece anyway! What, hoping we wouldn't notice???? Already glued and sealed to the wall, they then said they couldn't do anything about it! They also assured us they were using silicone that dried clear to connect the backsplash to the counter. Nope, it's milky looking. Not trusting them to remove and replace the backsplash piece without damaging the wall behind it (they texted they would "try to minimize damage to the drywall") they offered $108 as compensation. Do not let them install your countertop. They say they take responsibility for damage, but they didn't. I asked for a professional to come repair the chips - they said they weren't able to do that, but they'd take responsibility for drywall damage? Countertop installers know how to fix drywall? I don't think so. John Hime, the coordinator, said we would be contacted by a conflict resolution manager, but we never got a call. Just the crappy "compensation" he offered. They were not helpful at all in telling which type of sink or faucet I needed to purchase with my granite countertop so I had to request a refund. They kept sending me messages saying if I did not purchase the correct size sink or faucet, they would charge me extra fee for not being use a template of like $200 and were double-charging me for installation after Home Depot also would charge me. read more

They measured the job here at our house and I asked where the seem would be. He showed me and had this funny curve which I hated. I asked if they could do a straight across seam and they could never do that. I don't know why because most companies do the straight seem.. So the day of installation the seem was terrible looking! You could see the uneven and not enough grout. So the guys came out again and couldn't fix it. They also said sure we could have done a straight seam but it was ordered with the curved one. I was so angry ! I called the company and they said it's within their range of being accepted. Then they blew us off. So basically we spent a ton of money and it looks like !! I would never recommend and would tell anyone to go with someone else! We ordered through Lowe's. read more
