I reached out for a quote on the 12th by phone. I needed one of my exterior door handles replaced. I was told I had to email with photos and my VIN. I immediately hung up and sent the email as I was really hoping to get it done before I had family in town last weekend. I got a response the same day saying he will work on it and get back to me. I followed up three days later on the 15th. It's now the 20th and I still don't have a response for just a quote. I got quotes from about 4 other places pretty quickly so I'm just going to of course go somewhere else, but just wanted to give the feedback to hopefully help for their future customers. read more

My car was broken into, my window was broken and my door needed to be replaced. I was told that it would take 2-3 weeks, but after that time had expired they hadn't even contacted insurance about getting the parts. I feel misled, and taken advantage of to get my car on the lot. Summary: I am so happy that I went to Precision Auto Body for repairs to my car! I will always go back there and recommend that everyone I know uses them. My friend accidentally backed into my newish (6 months old) Mercedes - and I'd already scratched the front bumper backing out of my garage. I wanted to get it fixed for a good price as we didn't want to go through insurance, soonish, and I wanted it to look like I hadn't been playing bumper cars :) . I went to a few different shops around town and got quotes. David at Precision Auto Body gave me the most information about the damage while he was doing the quote. He was very thorough when looking at the damage, and even went back to take a second look. To put this in perspective, I got three other quotes - one said there were sensors where there weren't any, another said there was damage on the body that would take extra work to get out, 2/3 said they would need to replace rather than repair parts. David's quote was informed, thoughtful, and a really great price. He was also able to get started soon, and said it would take about a week to get everything completed. With it being the holiday season, things get busy - some other shops had more of a wait, or said that it would take longer. After I dropped off my car, that's when the pleasant surprises started. First, they called me! Just to update me! I normally follow up on my repairs about half way through, but they called me to let me know everything was going well and that we were on schedule before I thought to call and ask. They called again the day before to let me know the schedule for the final day - when they'd finish up, and when it would be ready for pickup. Second pleasant surprise - their time management. Their update calls and their timeline indicated to me that they were working methodically on my car. I've had stuff done before where I call half way through and ask about the status and they haven't started yet, but it's still going to be ready on time...that always makes me a little hesitant. On the last day, they had a good amount of buffer time between getting everything done and then a final few hours for quality control. It was enough of a buffer that if something did go wrong, or if they did find something they didn't like during quality control, they would have time to fix it. Last, most awesome surprise - the final result. Wow. I was expecting good work, but I was not expecting this level of greatness. It looked better than when I picked it up from the dealership. The repairs are amazing, I can't tell that there was ever damage in the first place. The extra scratches on the body that another shop said would take extra work to get out were gone. They cleaned the outside, and the inside of the car. The whole experience with working with David and Joyce was incredible. Highly recommend Precision Auto Body. read more

My wife and I got into an accident in Austin in the middle of a cross-country move from LA to NYC. The accident occurred at 5:30, and very few body shops were open at that time. Luckily, Precision Auto Body was open. David and Joyce at Precision Auto Body provided the ABSOLUTE BEST service we have ever received. Not just at a body shop, but at any business, anywhere. If you live in Austin and need a body shop, I would drive an hour out of my way to bring my car to Precision Auto Body. They not only fixed our car, they were there for us at a stressful time, they worked with us, and they were a welcoming presence in a new city. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but feel compelled to do so here. My truck and trailer were damaged by a distracted driver while parked in front of my home. I have never been in an accident and had no great leads for a body shop, and chose Precision after reading the strong reviews. I am very glad I did. The entire experience from their end was so clearly arranged with the customer in mind. They gave great advice, communicated well, walked me through what I might expect from the insurer, and frankly, have been the only positive throughout the experience. Just as importantly, the truck looked brand new after they finished up. The paint match was incredible, the attention to detail was clear, I got great feedback and updates throughout the process, etc. Zero complaints, incredible staff, and I deeply appreciated this part of the ordeal going so well. I was having a bad day when I wound up at PAB with front left accident damage, but right away they made me feel like I was going to be taken care of. They did everything right, from the repairs to the customer service. They made my car look like new. They remembered who I was every time I called or came in. They even fixed a couple of minor things unrelated to the accident at no extra cost to me. They did a fantastic job detailing the car inside and out before giving it back to me. What really set them apart was their eagerness to make sure I was satisfied. A prime example - before I left with my repaired vehicle, they asked me to bring the car back in a month so they could make sure they correctly matched the newly painted surfaces to the rest of the car (they did). In a time when it generally appears that customer service is no longer a priority (especially in an industry like automotive repair), it's refreshing to see these guys care about you and your car. read more

I can't say enough good things about these guys. A moulding came off my car, and so I brought it to Precision Auto Body on the recommendation of Gene Johnson Automotive on Manor (who are also great). They didn't just fix the problem, but were able to fix a variety of other bumps and scratches - and for less than I was expecting. They even refunded me for the work on one scratch (which they had improved quite a bit) because they couldn't get it 100%. They were also friendly and personable. read more

Considering all the usual annoyance that comes with having to get your car repaired, they made it as easy as possible, and have some of the most outstanding customer service I've ever experienced. Joyce went above and beyond to get my rental vehicle over to pick me up in a timely manner and Michael (I believe my mechanic's name was Michael?) also went above and beyond to make sure the insurance company approved use of OEM parts rather than after market. They also finished a day before they said they were going to, and everyone was just amazingly pleasant to deal with, I could not have asked for a better experience. Not only did Precision do a fantastic job of repairing the front end of my car (an insurance job), they also straightened out my front license plate that I had bent YEARS ago on a curb! That is definitely going above and beyond the call of duty, and it makes me laugh every time I see it. The other party's insurance paid for everything, but they tried to insist on after-market parts. A lady got to close to my car and scraped the passenger side of my car. I took my car to Precision and they did all the leg work. The made the necessary phone calls to the Insurance and helped me get my rental car. All I had to do was wait for my car. Everybody at the shop was so nice. This place is in my hood and someone hit my leased car (Acura--and this place is certified to fix them) right across the street from the shop, so we had the car brought here. Exceptional service and communication. I got a call at least once a week with updates (extensive damage). The most amazing thing was when I turned the car back in at the end of the lease, the inspector said the body work was so good, that he wouldn't have known work had been done on the car if Acura didn't print numbers on all their original parts. He said it was some of the best welding and seams he's seen. I would not take my car anywhere else. Bonus, they detailed my car for me prior to picking it up! read more

They were the middle man to me and my insurance company and fought to get things done right and quickly. 2013 BMW with a damaged bumper cover. For a similar price as their highly rated competitors, they removed the cover for shop repair rather than masking and painting on the car. The estimate was on Friday, they took the car the next Monday and it was ready the same week on Thursday afternoon. Don't know if this is a usual turnaround for them, yet, the highly rated competitors said around 3 weeks before an opening. The bumper cover looks brand new. No orange peel and a perfect color match. The paint quality more than competes with the original BMW paint quality. The re-installation of the cover aligns well. read more

I love this place!! Years ago I pulled into Precision because part of my bumper was falling off. Those were lean days and I really did not have money to put into a new bumper. They tied it up with zip ties and I was literally on my way. I never forgot that generosity. We chose to take our recent Honda Fit there through a hit and run insurance claim. How lucky for us that they were one of the choices. They were beyond helpful in trying to figure out next steps with our wrecked car. They offered to look for something at auction for us.
