I walked out to the car this week and had the unfortunate realization that my back window had been used as some sort of pellet-gun target. It was entirely shattered--still intact, but shattered. I called several places that told me, because my car was a 1998 Trooper, they no longer sell the glass aftermarket and the cost from the dealer would be roughly $750. With the install, it increased to $888. I was shocked and deflated; I did not have anything close to this type of money to spend. Thankfully, I got an IM from a friend whom I'd told what had happened. The IM said: call this guy--Greg Kieke at Armadillo. I have many things to say about Greg and Armadillo, and the one that tops the list is "outstanding." Greg not only called scrap yards for me, not only found one at a scrap yard, not only went way out to the sticks to pick it up in the early morning hours, not only came to my house in rush hour traffic, and not only installed it in less than an hour in cold weather, and not only had to take my rear tire and wiper off--he did it all with a smile, a laugh, and utmost professionalism. I really can't recommend Greg and Armadillo enough. Saving me more than $500 is one thing (a big thing at that), but equally satisfying was that here was a genuinely good guy doing the work. By the way, Armadillo does not only auto glass, but they also do residential and commercial windows. And they have 24 hr emergency service. If you need any of that type of work done, call Greg. My morning was off to a great start when I came out to my car at 645 AM to find my passenger side window completely busted with glass all over the inside of my car, as well as water from the night of rain. I contacted Armadillo Auto Glass thinking that since they were in my zip code I could drive a very short distance (with a trash bag covering my window) to have it repaired. Little did I know that this would turn out to be the best phone call I made all day (especially since the police AND my insurance company said they couldn't do anything to help me). Greg answered the phone at 730 am (I couldn't believe they were open at that hour) and not only quoted me a very inexpensive price for materials AND installation, but he also said he would come to me, fix my car, and even vacuum up all the glass. All I had to do was leave the key in the glovebox and find a ride to work. Well with spring comes baseball. With baseball comes broken windows...the rear window in my wife's Subaru Legacy Wagon. I called several auto glass companies in Austin. One large national company came in the cheapest and scheduled a Saturday appt to come put in my new glass. After rearranging my schedule they called me a few hours before to tell me that in fact they could not get my glass wholesale and would need to charge me close to $600 to get it from the dealer. Can you say bait and switch? When I called Greg he presented me two options, one about the same price as others and installed the next day or one a couple hundred dollars lower but would take two weeks to get in. I want the save $200 bucks route and exactly two weeks later my glass was here, Greg showed up exactly when he said, and he was finished exactly when he said...VERY professional and a job well done. Much like the last poster I was prompted to find a glass repair business after some crooked huffer smashed my front passenger window in order to steal my stereo. I called my insurance company to file a claim, and was told that my policy doesn't cover break ins, but they recommended a company that would come to my home and replace the window. The quote I received seemed too high, so I turned to the always helpful yelp and found Armadillo Auto Glass. I called up and talked to Greg who gave me a quote that was more reasonable than the first one I got. He had the window I needed in stock and about three hours later Greg was at my house, and less than thirty minutes later the job was done. The window was replaced and good as new, and he had also vacuumed much of the lingering glass that my hand-vac had failed to clean up. I am so very grateful for the services I recently received from Greg from Armadillo Auto Glass. Someone decided to bash in both my passenger side windows on my little Chevy s-10. Sunday evening at around 5, I gave Armadillo Auto Glass a call and left a message. Monday morning I received a call back, around 8:30, in response to my call for help. My car was broken into last night, which I discovered this morning as I was about to go to work. I looked up a few auto glass repair shops on here trying to get price quotes. Finally settled on Armadillo as they were one of the least expensive places I was able to get a hold of & I liked Greg's voice on the phone. Prices were comparable to all the other places we checked and service was great! We called them and within a couple hours they were out at our house replacing our front and back windshields in our own driveway. They also replaced my sister's windshield all within 3 hours. Greg was very professional and did an excellent job keeping our inspection and registration stickers intact when he placed them on the new windshields. We were due to take a long trip and weren't sure if we were going to make it in time with a broken windshield. Armadillo glass eased our concerns. Greg came out himself for my job - two windshields broken in the March 25th hailstorm. He was right on time, and a very personable young man. Both windshields were installed with no problems in an hour and a quarter. I priced 7 outfits - Armadillo was $50 less than Longhorn, and $250 less than the most expensive! Most of the shops wanted to give me new mouldings, which boost their profits - not necessary for my vehicles (they were totaled, but we're keeping them). If you've got a fancy car and the mouldings are damaged or showing their age, you might want to ask for new ones specifically - Greg won't gouge you for them. Good man, good work! read more

I was happy with his job and paid him, but as he was leaving I noticed that he'd damaged the chrome trim on my vehicle. When I brought it to his attention, he claimed he'd forgotten to mention that he hd struggled with removing a bolt there and caused the damage. But he in no way admitted that he'd made a mistake, and didn't make any offer of discount or restitution. He wasn't even going to mention the damage, but I happened to catch it myself. He could have called me over to have me help him remove the bolt rather than forcing it, but instead chose to do it himself and not own up to it. read more

Armadillo Auto Glass is amazing! Both my boyfriend and I both broke our windshields this past week. I called and was able to schedule an appointment for a convenient time for both of us. Greg came out and replaced both in under 2 hours and was right on time. He called to update me about his arrival and couldn't have been more helpful or professional. I actually met Greg several months before actually calling him to fix my windshield. I was able to get an appointment within a day. Because I didn't give all information needed (that I own a Rogue Sport, not just a Rogue), Greg had to go back and get the right windshield. He was very nice about the entire situation and just went to get the correct one and got to work. The new windshield if PERFECT, Greg and Amber are both supper friendly and helpful. I needed a whole windshield replaced, and called Armadillo and 3 other solidly reviewed glass shops on a Friday morning, and they were $40.00 less than any of the others. Got the appointment scheduled for Monday morning, between 8a-12p, and unlike the cable guy, I wasn't waiting until the end of the window-Greg showed up at 10:15, and even called about 30 minutes before to say he was on his way. Arrived on time, estimated the job at 45 minutes and completed it on time. OEM glass quality was very good.
