If you need a replacement front windshield put in, this is by far the best value to product in Austin. I have a 96 Lexus Sc300, it need a new windshield. I called shop after shop, $290 - $350 I was quoted, they did it for $265 plus tax with no mobile fee. Marlon did a great job, the windshield is fresh, sealed tight, all the rubber houses and moldings fit like a glove. I assumed I needed factory moldings but after the install with the aftermarket moldings included, it looks great. By the way, $265 included the molding. Other places wanted to charge $25 on top. Our car had an accident with the windshield wiper hitting it "just so" and causing a horrible (but not too huge) multi-progged crack -- near the bottom on the passenger side. We held our breath for about a year, hoping it would not grow too much -- but in about a year one of the hairline cracks made a big swirl up and over, clearing 8 inches or more now, and we knew we need to get the windshield replaced. Our budget is very tight, and I am very thankful for all the good reviews on Castle Auto, allowing me to feel I could trust them even though they quoted a price we could actually swing. The two other companies that are considered 'the best' by many both quoted well over $125 MORE than Castle Auto, and the estimate included their coming to our home to do it. They were FAST in that we had to wait only two days before they came out (and we were not even available the day before that), and they arrived very close to the time they gave us to expect. (We were floored and duly impressed with their timeliness. So many who have done different repairs on our home have been so "regularly" late by hours, days and even weeks. But no. They showed up. The two men were very professional and had interesting tools and equipment and I enjoyed hanging out and watching the operation. It was impressive. It took them only about an hour and we had a windshield, all shiny and new, with our stickers moved very adeptly to our new windshield. We only had to remember not to get the car (or window) wet for at least 24 hours. The passenger window on my car was hit during the tornado that touched down one block away from the hotel in which I stayed. The same morning I discovered the damage, that window was replaced by Castle Auto Glass. During the replacement, two issues arose; it was not reconnected to the switch that rolls the window up/down and the rubber lining inside would not stay stationary when the window rolled down. As each issue was discovered, I called to have remedied, which were promptly attended to and fixed. they did charge a reasonable price $240 however the glass is wavy and I can't tell how far the cars behind me are; after they replaced the rear glass with a cheap aftermarket, this is a safety issue because I cannot see the cars behind me clearly and I cannot get an accurate perception of the distance and how far they are, if they had given me the option to choose a low quality glass or a high-quality glass I would've definitely chosen a higher quality. read more
