If you've ever driven in Texas highways for any extended period of time, you've probably been the victim of trailers and dump trucks spreading gravel all over the road an inevitably tossing one at your windshield and ruining your day. I've had this happen at least twice in recent years and JRD has always been very responsive and quick to help get me an appointment to fix or replace my windshield. Their time estimates are good and often can get something done in an hour or less. Location is super convenient but don't expect some crazy nice store. It's a scrappy location that feels like it's a converted old gas station with no real improvements added but you can go hang out across the street at Meteor or walk down SoCo if you have no transportation elsewhere for the day. I used their website to inquire about a quote. They emailed me back promptly with a reasonable price. It was about $100 cheaper than Safelite, and JRD had good reviews so I went with them. They gave me my appointment as early as the next day. I dropped off my car and walked to a coffee shop. They finished the replacement in about 35 minutes. I was expecting them to take at least 90 (that's what he told me), so I was pleasantly surprised for the quick service. They took care of the stickers and everything too. The guys working there were all very friendly and efficient. If there's any hiccups in a few days with the new windshield, I'll update this review. But so far, I'm very happy with the service. These guys are the bomb. Very quick and efficient and do really great work. I had to have my windshield replaced a few months ago, they did a great job and the price was right. Not to mention, my windshield made LESS noise after they fixed it! Then last week, driving to San Antonio, a dang rock chip my windshield. I pulled in close to 4 pm on a Friday and he fixed the new chip. Didn't even charge me. I tipped him $20 because I was able to. This is a small business and I'm happy to support them. Attendant was up front and suggested a full replacement since I had unrelated cracks and chips from previous incidents. When I told him I'm looking for the cheapest fix possible at the moment he offered to fill the chip with resin for free! I had a huge crack on my windshield that was beyond repair and I had to get it completely replaced. I have a 2004 Lexus RX with rain sensors and the price for a new windshield was $270 without tax. The entire staff was very friendly and they replaced my entire front windshield in less than an hour! The whole process took approximately 45 minutes. Their service was extremely fast and I was able to schedule an appointment the day before. For windshield replacements, I was told that there is a 1 year warranty where if any cracks appear, I can come in and they will fix it free of charge! Their prices are very reasonable as well. There is even a deal on Groupon for windshield replacements that I unfortunately forgot to use that ends up saving you $80 for windshield replacements, so be sure to use it! If you use Groupon, I highly doubt you can find a better deal else where with such great customer service. I would HIGHLY recommend going to JRD for any windshield repairs! read more
