There are a few Prada stores on the island, the one we like to visit is at the Ala Moana shopping center mall level because it is easy to find parking. The store is very roomy, clear nice display. The sales associates are usually all very friendly and provide good attentive services. They do have a wide selection of items - from bags, clothing, shoes, accessory, etc. In my opinion, Prada's pricing is more in the low / mid range in luxury brand when compatible to the other brand like Chanel and Hermes. I would say a little more affordable. My wife wants a light weight, small travel bag and it seems like a perfect store to go shopping. read more

I'm writing this review even though I was not able to physically go to the store. I live on the mainland in California. How I got to this review. I went it my favorite store in San Jose at Westfield Valley Fair Mall. I went in to look at a few specific items. One of them said, "Coming soon." The consultant was going to put me on the waitlist to be notified and decided to check stock. She found it at 3 stores in the US. They happen to all be in Hawaii. After a little more research she found them in Japan. Each store had 1. So she gave me the phone number to the 3 stores in HI. This part of the review is for this store. I spoke to a consultant and told her what I was looking for. She said there was 1 in the store and located it. I purchased it over the phone and had it shipped. She sent me a picture of my receipt and told me to I can reach out to her for tracking information. My physical receipt and authenticity card would be enclosed in the package. It would go out on Monday, 2 day shipping. I was a little nervous because I'm used to taking home what I purchase. Every time I checked in she responded. It made me feel better. read more

I always love coming to this location as Miyuki is very helpful. The first time I came here I was looking for a specific vest, and she immediately knew which one after I described it. Their prices are also lower than locations in other states, and the convenience of the Ala Moana location (with the many dining options) is a plus as well. I recently came here with my fiancee for Christmas/New Year's presents for each other, and even though the sandals that my fiancee was looking for weren't available, we were able to find an awesome purse instead. I'm not the type of person who writes about the items that I purchase and I rarely drop names. However, in this case I feel compelled to do so. My SA here is Misuzu B. and she is the best. I came here in January looking for this unicorn bag. Prada only made a limited supply for the world and I knew it was going to be hard to find. People who have tried to order it online got canceled many times, since there was no inventory. I took a chance and Misuzu said that she'd get back to me. About two weeks later she had me come in and make my payment. I didn't get my bag until the ending of April. Misuzu and Desiree were sourcing the world for my bag. They were tracking it from all over and finally it came in. They worked really hard to get my bag and I'm so grateful. They invited me to their Mother's Day event and showered me with gifts. They gave me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, two bottles of champagne, and some chocolates. I was floored that they worked so hard for me and were giving me gifts. Out of all the luxury houses, I have to say that Prada goes above and beyond. Their customer service is exquisite. Thank you Misuzu and Desiree! I came in there a few weeks ago and was greeted by amazing customer service and I told them I was going to come back because I love having my husband there. I couldn't get over how everyone helped me, even when I didn't buy anything, so I came back today. Hiromi instantly greeted and helped me. I buy from designer stores all the time, but this was by for the best customer service I had TWICE. That says allot and last time I was dressed very very badly. couldn't refund money in full for a return, so they promised at one point we would receive store credit worth the sale for ALL STORES IN THE U.S. turns out they lied and it only works on boutique Prada stores like theirs and not retail Prada stores so now we can't use our store credit. why lie? called customer service and after saying they can't do anything they hung up rudely. next time don't lie about important details because you genuinely lost loyal PRADA customers and gave us a horrible experience. Remember the Prada nylon bag/backpack craze back in the 90s? Who would have guessed that Miuccia Prada would set off a lust for upscale nylon bags! The Prada store at Ala Moana is well stocked and huge. Walls are lined in the ubiquitous pistachio green color and SAs there are very friendly and not snotty or intimidating like on the mainland. That's what I love about Hawaii. Hawaiians don't mind to "talk story" with you and you are never rushed. I ordered a couple Goretex jackets over the phone from them a few years ago and got the BEST service. They sent me my jackets in perfect condition and even sent reusable Prada bags to hold them in. My family and I came to Hawaii for vacation. After arriving in Hawaii we definitely had to do some shopping and the experience we had at the Prada Women's store was tremendous. Yousef Chinias provided the best hospitality and really made us feel welcomed in the store. The items we were looking for weren't available at the store, but Yousef went out of his way to get it transferred from another location in a speedy manner. Even though we didn't plan to go to the mall two days in a row, we ended up doing so because he was very sweet and helpful making the experience very easy/quick. We've never experienced any better service from another luxury brand, then with this store. Would definitely recommend to visit if you're in the area looking to do some spending. read more

I went to this store right after Labor Day weekend. I love this Prada store! They were friendlier than the Waikiki one. As soon as I walked in, two gentlemen tried to help me and I ended up with JJ who was awesome! JJ helped me look at a few bags and when I told him that I was looking for a specific Vernice Promenade that was black with red trim, he told me they had two in the back and that it was the only two left in the country! I couldn't believe it! I was so happy as I had my eye on this bag for a really long time, and it was sold out on the Prada website. I ended up buying the bag right on the spot. They brought my BF and I out cookies, green tea and champagne. While I was sitting there enjoying my champagne, I ended up chatting with JJ and found out more about his background. Then John came over and joined our conversation. I had so much fun chatting with them! I told them that if I lived there, I probably would just come and hang out with them. They were super nice guys. One side note though, I do wonder had I had the same service if I came dressed in my Adidas and low key? This is how I was dressed when I went to Waikiki and the service was not that great. I did have a sundress on as the BF and I were having dinner after. Also this guy came in dressed super casual and had a skateboard in his hand. I guess they were rude to him because he flipped out and started yelling and cursing out the staff saying he had more money in his pocket then they will make all year and he was going to buy a lot of stuff. It was a straight up Pretty Woman moment. I was too busy drinking champagne. But it did make me wonder..... Anyways, if you go, ask for JJ or John. They are really nice and helpful guys. While on vacation, we popped by Prada in the mall, and lo and behold, they had the most beautiful items. I was just browsing (at first), and the attendant behind the counter was so sweet and patient with me, even though she probably thought I wouldn't be buying anything. The store is beautiful! The walls are lined with purses and other items, while the cases are decked in even more gorgeous items for looking at and browsing. Even though the sales associates had to put on gloves to handle the goods, they are not at all condescending or snobby. They were very kind to me, even after I spent about half an hour looking at some purses and wallets and left. I later came back to make a purchase, and they were so nice! They remembered me and asked me questions about what I wanted before wrapping up the one I finally decided on. After I came back home to the mainland, I received a thank-you note from the sales associate who helped me at Prada. Loved it. I will definitely be back here the next time I go to Oahu! read more

I stepped into Prada just to look at a blue coat on a mannequin, I was warmly greeted by Garret Kai who told me that I could try on the coat if I wanted, he was very humble and sweet and he doesnt expect me to purchase anything, he even had a chat with my husband and I about where to go visit in Hawaii . After wandering around Prada for a while I saw a lavender saffiano handbag and said to my husband this would be perfect if it was light blue. Kai told us that he has a bag similar to the description I wanted and returned with the most gorgeous aquamarine blueish saffiano handbag, Im not a purse person, but the bag is just gorgeous, Hawaii tax is only 4 %, so we purchased the bag, in a heart beat. I have looked around for a light blue prada handbag for a while, but had never seen one upclose until I went to the Prada in Ala Moana mall. IMO, service just depends on who you get. I've been with cool and aloof sales people here as well as warm and friendly ones. I've purchased 2 purses and a wallet here on different occasions. Handwritten thank you cards were sent to me at home after the purchases, which was a nice touch. It does get busy and it seems to take forever when the salespeople are ringing your purchases up. They may be busy with foreign visitors, who may spend more than us locals? Not sure. Bottom line: Staff are not especially friendly nor are they affirmatively snobby or hostile. However, I do find that I need to brace myself for the restrained atmosphere before entering the store, so I am not that comfortable there which is a shame because not all high end stores are like this (Tiffany's is better). read more

I am a good customer for these type of high fashion items. Surprisingly at these higher end boutique stores I have found the service to be below par. This is not the case here at all. I was interested in a new pair of suede driving shoes and the left one appeared to be faded from display lights. Noriko Cox was my outstanding sales associate and brought the wonderful manager in for further assistance. The manager drove to the other store on Luxury Row, picked up another pair in my size for me to evaluate the next day. When I returned after Noriko called me..they were perfect in the navy color and I was so thrilled with the service and the shoes I bought the same ones in a beautiful dark chocolate as well. Used to be rude, not wanting to help, didn't make my profile or give me guarantee card the past 3 years that I windowshop but ordered from farfetch.com. But now they changed. I believe Anthony was the name who was the first nice person at this store. Recently worked with Raymond from lady's store. Both him and men's store manager Monica have exceptional service. There was one more person too but I don't know his name. Salesperson Raymond at Women's gave me his card one day- I actually never bought from him for like 2 years. Only texted many things wasting his time but not buy because I ended up not liking the products. However, he was STILL polite and nice. So I bought many things that I've been eyeing on for 2 years all at the same time. He works on his days off too (other people at all brand don't do that so they lose sale). Prada has good quality saffiano leather that is scratch resistant. Competitive price compared to other brands while very simple, elegant, good for everyday use. This Prada store is horrible. I went there to fix to my sunglasses. The staff told me it took about 3 months since they gonna send to Italy's factory. After like 6 months I didn't hear from them about it. So I stopped by the store and asked them. What I found out is they lost my sunglasses at the factory. They ignored this situation until I went to the store and asked about it. This simply unacceptable. My sunglasses were a little custom made and present from my grandma who passed away already. They are asking us to pay a lot of money to buy stuff but they don't take responsibility for keep our products. This is my worst experience in this kind of luxury boutique. Walk in Prada today dress casually. I was looking for their wallets and a sale greet me. I THOUGHT he is nice but I was wrong! After I asked him a question about the wallet, he goes back to the door and came back out. His attitude suddenly change, seems annoy or emotionless. No face expression at ALL. And then he answer my question but not looking at my face instead stare at somewhere else! Even though I don't seem like someone that can afford their wallet, but this kind of attitude really doesn't make customers return unless they serve by someone else. I know sales alway like to target rich people to make commission but what if you in my shoe and got discriminate this way? OMG! I really hope you're not in a rush because this store takes a very long time just to process a simple transaction. It literally took over twenty minutes just to swipe my credit card and package my merchandise...REALLY? The snobbish sales person ("Jacob") didn't even apologize for the wait and then tried to explain that they only had one register. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I would think that a store with an average price point of $1200-$2000 just for a handbag could afford at least two registers...guess not huh? How cheap!? I never had that problem at other high-end boutiques that I frequently shop at... in fact, I have received better and faster service at Macy's and Wal-Mart! I went into Prada with my mind already set on a particular bag, did my research and everything, and even brought an online photo description of it on my cell phone to show to the sales associate. This store has excellent service. Immediately, I was greeted upon entering. Coco was very attentive and was quick to provide service. She took a look at the photo and immediately brought out the bag for me to look at with white gloved hands. I had all the time to look at it. I was even more pleased with the price, which was actually less than the online price that I saw. Coco even showed me some matching wallets too and I was able to find one to purchase as well. Coming from California, the prices of luxury bags are so much better here in Hawaii! I am a Prada fan. The prices are very reasonable compare to other designer handbags. Staffs at Ala Moana are very good at doing follow ups. When it comes to repairs, even though it is 1 month or 2 out of the warranty period, they would still fix it for you if it is a factory defect. read more

I normally don't like shopping for bouji high end stuff as I feel stuff like wallets and purses are trivial items designed to show one's "presumed value" as replacement of their character, with no return on investment (like designer watches). So, why would I go into a Prada store? A wallet is a handy tool IMHO, but with the cheap $30-$50 ones you get at Macy's tend to degrade after a few months I figured, how much would a real designer wallet last? So, while on vacation, I went to all the stores, LV, Gucci, Ferragamo...now, LV and Ferragamo had great customer service, they were nice, but I didn't feel "welcomed" or that I belonged. Gucci, well they didn't feel the need to attend to me while I spent an hour looking for wallets, so I walked out and walked straight into Gucci where every sales associate greeted me with a gleaming smile that was neither forced nor fake. They bowed, (one of the associates was Korean, and recognized that I was as well), and handed me everything with two hands. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if I was ready to buy, but as a salesperson myself, people buy from those they like. And I liked everyone I met, so I took the dive. I read reviews of people complaining the transaction took too long...seems like he/she is a little too sensitive as I felt pretty catered to. Even simple things like my receipt was delivered to me as if it was diamonds, folded neatly into an envelope, and my wallet packaged and bagged. I felt like royalty! I don't see this kind of service in the Bay Area, and I can't imagine the same anywhere else. This is a must stop location if you want anything Prada. read more
