We had a 77" OLDED TV installed with DOLBY Atmos grade speakers and a new AV receiver connected to a Control 4 as well as a bridge mode wifi system so we could get wifi better throughout the house. Aomed was prompt in coming in, evaluating our old setup, and giving us several different options in formal proposals along with the prices upfront. He did not use any hard-sell tactics (i.e. no car salesman-like tactics). For installation, his team, led by Arnas, was prompt and did a superb job with the installation. There were some issues after installation (partly on us not knowing how the speakers work with Atmos), but Aomed gave us his mobile for texting. He responded to each issue, and a couple of times, Arnas and his team were out to fix them and show us how to operate our new system. Aomed and his team deserve the 5 stars. The only issue was when it took a while to get ahold of him while he was out of the country, but he responded back quickly as soon as he got back. I'm sure his business will grow as his reputation increases, and hopefully, he'll have a customer service person who could help with calls. The best thing is he and Arnas told us we could continue to contact them whenever we needed any help. (for example, I just sent Aomed a text, and he replied within seconds). read more

Something interesting happened here after my original review, the owner (Aomed) reached out to me and wanted to make it right. This install was for a training room at a Fire Station, and this was a project that Aomed felt strongly about. We worked together for the next few months on the equipment options and installation schedule. Despite our limited budget Aomed worked with us to maximize what we were getting, while giving us a great deal. They were minimally invasive with the initial wiring upgrades and the speakers/voice automation microphones installation. They even accommodated me in moving the components cabinet. Warranty Issues I am a disabled person. I had Powerhouse install security cameras at my house because I was having harassment issues with neighbors. Because of these facts, the cameras are literally one of the most important things in my life. I explained all of this to Powerhouse multiple times. My cameras recently went out. I reached out to Powerhouse several times and could not get them to honor the warranty to address issues after installation. After a week of trying to get warranty service, I was so stressed out that I gave up trying and had someone else fix the problem at my own expense. Five-plus stars for Aomed and his team at PowerhouseAV. I couldn't be more satisfied. I needed ethernet run through my entire house, my wi-fi was horrific, and the in-ceiling speakers I had were a mess. After a lot of looking and review-reading I contacted PowerhouseAV (thru the convenient chat feature on their website) and Aomed was personally in my house the next day for a free assessment. I found Aomed to be straightforward and honest. He gave me a wide range of options and never pushed on options I didn't seem interested in. That said, he informed me about all of the technology that's available today - some of which I had no idea existed for home-use. He's also a local guy (born and raised right here in NoVa) who seems to want to build a long term, relationship-based business. That's a real added plus for me. PowerhouseAV wired all three levels of my home for ethernet, installed high-end ceiling speakers in my office, fixed my outdoor and family room speakers, got my home entertainment system untangled and onto a single remote, and installed blazing fast wifi throughout my house. And (because he's a good businessman) he threw in a video doorbell for free. He estimated it would take week for all equipment to be delivered and a second week to do all the work. 13 days later everything was done. His cost estimate was accurate to the penny. On budget and early is hard to find. Powerhouse provided me a premium, craftsman level service - I'm past the point where I want to work with fly-by night, one-person business for this kind of work. I want the wires run perfectly, the patch/paint done flawlessly and all the needed apps loaded/passworded and integrated so that I can pick up my controller on the first day and everything just works. Whoa! That was my reaction when I was able to fire up my TVs, control/stream music in 5 different areas, all from one device. That device can be my phone, table, computer, or a dedicated remote. Other people in your home can do the same [at the same time] if you give them access. Another plus, I don't see anything sticking out from around the TVs or from where the sound comes from. It's definitely cool from an aesthetical perspective, and cool in how it operates. My venture with Aomed began last September when I asked around on Yelp for quotes to mount a TV in my basement, on a brick fireplace. My house is a 1950s rambler with brick and plaster walls everywhere. It's not the easiest to work with as far as retrofitting it with audio/video gear. Aomed was the only guy to come out to my home, and after taking a look at the room, he asked me if I was interested in hiding my equipment in an adjacent room. That way, you would just see the TV on the wall, and that's it. I didn't know how that was possible, but of course I said "umm yeah, that'd be great." And what did I want to do for sound (for the TV). I initially figured I'd go with a soundbar as per usual. But to go along with the idea of a "cleaner" setup, had I thought of in-ceiling speakers and an in-wall subwoofer for a true 5.1 sound system. I hadn't thought of it (it's not like I live in a catalog home), but he explained to me how it could be done. He spec'ed out a Control4 environment controlling the basement TV (its now, possibly-hidden brains: cable box, PlayStation/DVD/external streamers, etc.). So the TV/movie-watching portion was my desire. But I was real hesitant to buy into the Control4 pitch for TV. It seemed like overkill for TV watching in one room. My wife, on the other hand, wanted a *whole-home* audio setup; with in-ceiling speakers in a couple of rooms. Again, the in-ceiling angle was for avoiding clutter. Most people that I know recommended a Sonos setup using their Play1 or Play3 speakers. I'm not saying that Sonos leads to a cluttered home, but our young kids behave like Gremlins most of the time...just couldn't trust them to be able to get a hold of anything, so exposed speakers were worrisome. I was told that the Control4 brain (EA3 controller) could tie into a 4-zone amplifier (55 watts/channel), which could power 4 other rooms. That amplifier is the same cost as 2 Sonos Connect amps, which we would need if we wanted to install in-ceiling speakers in 2 rooms. Now with the 4-zone amplifier that opened up the possibility to have sound in 2 other rooms -- for *4 rooms total driven off the amplifier*, plus the basement which can steam music off its dedicated receiver. So conceivably we can have 5 different zone of music playing at once, in different combinations (i.e., different streams in rooms, or rooms playing the same music...not all rooms have to play music, of course). I researched the hell out of this, which paralyzed me. But Aomed would check in with me from time to time; not in an annoying way. I'd ask him more questions myself. I even had Best Buy's Magnolia come out to get an idea of what configurations like this cost. PowerHouseAV easily beat them. First, their pricing is lower, and more importantly the people I encountered (Aomed, Arnas, and Jordan) were/are great. I can talk for awhile about this, but long story short, I bit the bullet and contracted with PowerHouseAV to have this done: - Install a Control4 EA3 controller - Mount a 65" TV on a brick fireplace in the basement - Install 5.1 sound in the basement - Mount a 55" TV in another room - Install in-ceiling stereo speakers in four rooms, which included outdoor speakers on the deck - Tie in an existing TV to the Control4 system - Wire three rooms with ethernet capabilities All audio/video components were hidden -- either in an A/V rack in that adjacent basement room I mentioned, or behind the TVs (like a Roku and Apple TV). The wires and cables were expertly hidden/tied up for a super clean look. Aomed, working with Arnas (who is a wizard) and Jordan, designed, implemented, and have continued to support my home system. They made the impossible [in my mind] a reality. It has exceeded my expectations. read more

I contacted PowerHouseAV through yelp to inquire about installing a home theater. I had very little background in this, so was cautious about whether to do it at all, and I'd call myself a "price sensitive" customer. Aomed got back to me within the hour and set up a consult for the following morning. I know he listened to what I was saying I wanted, because he delivered me two quotes, one for a bit higher quality set up, that met exactly what I was asking for. I went with the higher quality plan, and he immediately ordered the parts. Installation was very professional and the finished product looks and sounds like movie theater quality, in my basement. I did experience a significant delay in service on some minor work with our living room entertainment center, but that was due to an emergency personal situation on their side and, in the end, Aomed came through. Sometimes things happen, and although the delay wasn't ideal, I think the overall quality of work and normally-prompt communication merits 5 stars. read more

I originally contacted Aomed to get a quote on installing a home theater system. His response to my initial inquiry was prompt, and his estimate was in line with several others I received. I decided to go with a different company for the install, but I really wish I had gone with PowerHouse AV from the start. The company that did the job was sloppy and the end result was not satisfactory by a long shot. I contacted Aomed afterward to find out if his team (Jordan and Arnas) could fix all the deficiencies. He came out to our house for a second visit to look at the job they had done and quickly put together a very reasonable estimate of what it would cost to fix the system. The end result was exactly what we wanted. The system sounds great and looks awesome. Jordan and Arnas were great to work with and answered all of my questions. Aomed was also very responsive throughout the process. We will be repeat customers for future projects for sure. I am very impressed with the service and quality of PowerHouseAV. In addition to installing several security cameras they also implemented an audio system with connections to 2 televisions and synced it with my Alexa to allow for voice command. Very cool! About a year later we needed some service to tweak and upgrade our system and they sent their ace technician Arnas and he quickly had everything working smoothly. He's quite good (i.e. patient!) at explaining tech processes as well. Also in this era of Covid he was masked the entire time he was on our property. I wanted to compare vs other places so I also got some quotes from Best Buy Magnolia and another automation provider. He took his time on the phone (1hr) to answer my dumb questions and even took the time to come up with new ideas for my system. While other companies sent me prices over email and were pushy with scheduling the job, Aomed took the time to come out and look at my home in person. He then had some ideas about hiding equipment and wiring that I would never have gotten from the other companies just giving prices over email. Aomed started working in this industry from a young age with a very well-known, large company.
