I read reviews of this company on Yelp and home advisor. The photos on their website are mostly large AV systems, both commercial and residential. I really thought they would be able to handle mounting a 65" TV without a problem. That was not the case. I emailed them to get a quote - I included my exact TV and mount information, asked if they needed anything else, and what to expect. They quoted me $185 for a standard mount, including running any wires behind the wall so they didn't hang. He said it would take less than 1.5 hours. I'm not sure what went wrong, because all the reviews I read were glowing. Maybe they sent a new guy, maybe he usually has someone helping him, maybe something happened, but my experience was not at all satisfactory. The guy arrived on time, which was great. He said the equipment looks fine and got started. I thought it was strange that only one person was sent to mount a 64" TV, but assumed he knew what he was doing. He said my wall is concrete (very old building) and he wouldn't be able to run the wires through the wall. I thought this was reasonable, but did expect a reduced price because that's one less service I was being provided. I did not get a discount and honestly, if that had been the only issue then I wouldn't have a problem, but it wasn't. After an hour, I helped him lift the TV onto the mount (because there was not a second person sent). It was crooked and off-center (it was mounted in the center of a rectangular trim on the wall, so it was VERY obvious). We then spent the next 2.5 hours trying to get the TV level. He requested to schedule the mount during the day, so I had planned to work from home that day, but ended up spending my entire afternoon from 3 to 6:45 helping this guy mount my TV. I understand it may sound like I'm being hyper-critical, but it really is obvious that the TV is not where it should be. I will upload a photo. $200 and almost 4 hours later, I had run out of patience and gave up on having the TV mounted center and level because I had other commitments. I appreciate that the guy stayed so long to try to help, but he honestly was not very helpful and did not complete the job he was hired to do. Things started out looking great. This contractor was rated highly by urbanreferrals.com. A very pleasant representative came to my house for an initial site visit to see where I wanted the TV mounted and work out a proposal. The proposal came the next day and was slightly lower than another proposal we received. Things went downhill, though, on the day they came to install the TV. Upon arriving, they realized they could not mount the TV without a recessed outlet, something they somehow had failed to notice during the site visit. As a result, they had to call an electrician to move the plug. From there it only got worse. They mis-measured the mount placement by 8 inches, meaning the TV was essentially going to be against the ceiling and 21 inches above the fireplace over which it was being mounted. This was an incredible error given the overall dimensions of the area where the TV was being mounted. Seriously, the error could hardly have been any bigger. They called an electrician to move a plug which would have been perfectly fine where it was had they not mis-measured the the mount and TV. To their credit, they fully acknowledged messing up (they could not have feasibly denied their mistake, but they did not even try to excuse their error, which I appreciate). And, to continue on the positive side, the guys were very nice and treated the situation as professionally as possible. But getting back to reality, they were at my house from 1 pm until close to 10pm and were still unable to finish the job, all as a result of serious errors and what seemed to be a terrible lack of coordination between them. At various times during the day, I felt like it was the first time they were mounting a TV and had to correct them on measurements, TV position, etc. Luckily I was working from the living room and was able to tell them that something was wrong before they finished putting my TV at 21 inches from the mantel (4 to 12 inches is the recommended). I had to go online to look for instructions on how to mount a TV to a fireplace (http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/sf/audio-video-computer/tips-for-hanging-a-flat-screen-tv-over-a-fireplace-074713) to be able to direct them. They came back the next day at 9am to patch my wall and finally mount the TV where it was supposed to go. This whole procedure took another half day. They managed to do a better job this time. But, after they left I measured the fireplace and TV and noticed that the TV is still not centered in my fireplace, it doesn't look horrible - but it's definitely not perfect. I would like to be able to recommend this company, because they seem like very nice, high courteous people. Unfortunately, they did such a poor job, that I cannot in good conscience recommend Audio Solutions to anyone. I believe that when you decide to hire someone to do this kind of job, you do so because you want a specialist to do it, someone you can trust to drill holes into your home and mount your new and expensive TV where it is supposed to be. I've called Audio Solutions twice now. The first time right after one of the big snow storms a couple of years ago, which knocked out my satellite and ice pulled my cables down. The cable company, swamped by many calls like this, said they'd take days. Audio Solutions came the day we called and got us up and running again quickly, and for a reasonable price (considering there were two feet of snow on the ground). The alternative would have been waiting for the much more expensive cable provider service call and spending days house bound in the snow without television (I think the winter Olympics were on that week). Anyway they were great. I just used them again recently as some guys working on my house dislodged the cables. Audio Solutions again was completely responsive, came when they said they would and worked quickly to solve the problem at a good price. They're great. I highly recommend them. read more

In my initial contact with Audio Solutions on a Friday they scheduled my flat screen installation for the first available appointment the following Wednesday at 11:30. I received a phone call at 11:15 on Wednesday explaining that their morning appointment was running late and Don would arrive later in the afternoon. At 2:00 I received a phone call telling me that Don would not be able to come at all that day. I asked what time he would come tomorrow. I was told he would not come the next day or the day after that and instead would see if he could come the following week. Don might be a great installer but my time is too valuable to wait all day for an installation that does not happen and no offer of another appointment for the next four days. read more

This is my first Yelp review (which in theory is great) but I've never actually reviewed anything before. Anyway, I mention that to say that I'm supremely impressed so better late than never. I asked Don to come over because I have alot of exposed brick in my new place. In the end, we settled on a drywall spot and he made an estimate installing a TV w/a console. Standard. But then I had this vision of mounting my TV on the wall, like a painting. Sounds ideal but it's ALOT of work. He had to drop the wires down, snake them around, and hide them in the adjacent room (bedroom closet). This took ALOT of effort and ALOT of time. Literally, he was at my place for 8 hours! It was long (and he poked some holes which I'll get patched up) but honestly I think he did the best that he could possibly do given the foundations of my wall. Don was so willing to change the' plan' and miraculously, he still kept to his original price. It's actually ridiculous and I feel like I've completely exploited his labor because of all his hard work.
