Initial Communication: Before settling on N & D for my home security system, I did tons of research, including research into all the big home security companies. Unlike other companies, N & D Security does not lock you into a long-term contract, nor did they try to upsell me on products and services that were beyond the scope of my needs. Rather, Perry readily identified what would likely make sense for my home, asked incisive and poignant questions about my home security needs, and carefully listened to and thoughtfully answered all my questions. He then diligently followed up with a recommended package for my home. Perry's attention to detail, follow-up communications, and responsiveness was impeccable. And I was all the more impressed given the fact that N & D is a small team that essentially operates as a family-owned business. Installation: The installation could not have been more seamless. John, Darren, and David arrived promptly. They installed the security system and had me up and running in little to no time. I was thoroughly impressed by the service--the N & D team went above and beyond anything I could have expected. For example, in addition to setting up my home security system, Darren helped set up our doorbell camera and even attempted to help install smart locks throughout my home. Upon the immediate completion of the installation, John carefully explained how the system operates, patiently answered all my questions, and even gave me his personal number in the event I had any additional questions. After Installation: After completing the installation, Perry checked in again to ensure that all our needs were handled and that our system was up and running. In addition, the N & D team was incredibly diligent in completing additional follow up work I had requested. In sum, if you are looking for a top-notch home security system, N & D is a no brainer. They are horrid with the constant, literally, DAILY solicitation calls. I asked the Vivint Rep to take me off of their sales list and they do not stop. If I had known they would be like this, I would not have used their services. I am looking to switch my home and business security system as I feel it is an abuse of my phone number. My doorbell camera quit working too, but I am not replacing it with a $900+ version they have.

My experience with Vivint Security has been extremely disappointing. I recently sold my home and…read moremoved into a rental property where I am not permitted to install the Vivint alarm system. Even though I no longer own the house where the equipment was installed and cannot transfer the service to my current residence, Vivint continues to expect me to pay monthly for a security system that I cannot use and no longer have. I contacted customer service hoping the company would review my circumstances and provide a reasonable solution. Instead, I received very little assistance, understanding, or flexibility. I explained that this is not a situation where I simply changed my mind or decided that I no longer wanted the service. I sold my home, moved into rental housing, and am unable to install the system because of restrictions beyond my control. Vivint has the ability to waive the remainder of a customer's contract under certain circumstances, but the representatives I spoke with were unwilling to help or seriously consider my request. It is incredibly frustrating to be charged every month for equipment and services that are not available to me. A reputable company should consider a customer's individual circumstances instead of hiding behind contract language and continuing to collect payments for a service that cannot be provided. The lack of compassion and practical problem-solving from Vivint's customer service department has completely changed my opinion of the company. Customers should carefully review every detail of the contract before signing, particularly the cancellation and relocation provisions. Life circumstances change, homes are sold, and people sometimes move into properties where installation is prohibited. Based on my experience, Vivint may still expect payment regardless. I cannot recommend Vivint Security. Their unwillingness to provide a fair resolution has left me paying for nothing and feeling completely disregarded as a customer.

We had Mark Evans out to replace one ring camera and to bring another back online. He was terrific…read more He showed us the receipt for the camera and told us what the installation would cost before he began so that there would be no surprises. He also tailored the field for each camera to avoid cars driving by triggering a ring alert. More importantly, he worked with us and Ring Customer support for an extended period to bring all three cameras online. Due to some Ring technical glitch, only 2 of the 3 cameras were showing in our Ring phone apps. His expertise saved the day. We would not have been nearly as successful navigating with Ring without Mark to guide the conversation. I might also add that he is exceedingly patient as it took 3 calls with Ring before the problem was fixed.

This is a delayed review - we had our work done in late 2018. They were recommended as a Savant Gold authorized dealer, so I expected they would have more technical expertise (including networking) than many of the other companies we dealt with (who focused mostly on installing televisions). We were able to schedule an initial consultation appointment, and met with Jon L. He was able to provide a detailed and customized design proposal, especially since we already had a substantial amount of existing equipment. We were unable to schedule immediately, due to their volume of existing customers, but it was worth the wait. Ultimately, we had Innovative AV install a TV, replace the router and wi-fi access points, and update/reconfigure our existing Savant system. On the day of our install, Jon and the rest of his team were prepared, on time, and got to work right away. We were able to save a bit compared to our initial estimate, where certain equipment ended up being unnecessary.
