Initial Communication: Before settling on N & D for my home security system, I did tons of research, including research into all the big home security companies. Unlike other companies, N & D Security does not lock you into a long-term contract, nor did they try to upsell me on products and services that were beyond the scope of my needs. Rather, Perry readily identified what would likely make sense for my home, asked incisive and poignant questions about my home security needs, and carefully listened to and thoughtfully answered all my questions. He then diligently followed up with a recommended package for my home. Perry's attention to detail, follow-up communications, and responsiveness was impeccable. And I was all the more impressed given the fact that N & D is a small team that essentially operates as a family-owned business. Installation: The installation could not have been more seamless. John, Darren, and David arrived promptly. They installed the security system and had me up and running in little to no time. I was thoroughly impressed by the service--the N & D team went above and beyond anything I could have expected. For example, in addition to setting up my home security system, Darren helped set up our doorbell camera and even attempted to help install smart locks throughout my home. Upon the immediate completion of the installation, John carefully explained how the system operates, patiently answered all my questions, and even gave me his personal number in the event I had any additional questions. After Installation: After completing the installation, Perry checked in again to ensure that all our needs were handled and that our system was up and running. In addition, the N & D team was incredibly diligent in completing additional follow up work I had requested. In sum, if you are looking for a top-notch home security system, N & D is a no brainer. John arrived on time and immediately began the planning and installation of LED recessed lights. He also removed a light/fan and moved it to another location. Called to cancel, they needed proof equipment was paid off for early buy out promise. We have email proof and provided by supervisor in email we could cancel no termination fees. Two months, no service turned off. We had moved to new place. We call back, we need proof. We did this already, but they say they don't have it but offer two months free hoping our buyer if home would want it. we say okay but if at the end of two months house hasn't sold, cancel. They did not and drafted out our account. We call back, same mess different day. We submit documentation and forward previous emails. Time went by, they tried to draft again but we removed auto draft. Sent bill with late fee. Get on phone again and here we are trying to cancel since September 2025, it's mid April 2026, still not cancelled and they refuse to give us the months back they drafted and saying they have no record of verifying our payoff of equipment or cancellation. So I will never recommend them ever because cancelling isn't option. Seeking legal action now. We have names of cancelling department, emails and proof of payoff. Do not use them.

My experience with Vivint Security has been extremely disappointing. I recently sold my home and…read moremoved into a rental property where I am not permitted to install the Vivint alarm system. Even though I no longer own the house where the equipment was installed and cannot transfer the service to my current residence, Vivint continues to expect me to pay monthly for a security system that I cannot use and no longer have. I contacted customer service hoping the company would review my circumstances and provide a reasonable solution. Instead, I received very little assistance, understanding, or flexibility. I explained that this is not a situation where I simply changed my mind or decided that I no longer wanted the service. I sold my home, moved into rental housing, and am unable to install the system because of restrictions beyond my control. Vivint has the ability to waive the remainder of a customer's contract under certain circumstances, but the representatives I spoke with were unwilling to help or seriously consider my request. It is incredibly frustrating to be charged every month for equipment and services that are not available to me. A reputable company should consider a customer's individual circumstances instead of hiding behind contract language and continuing to collect payments for a service that cannot be provided. The lack of compassion and practical problem-solving from Vivint's customer service department has completely changed my opinion of the company. Customers should carefully review every detail of the contract before signing, particularly the cancellation and relocation provisions. Life circumstances change, homes are sold, and people sometimes move into properties where installation is prohibited. Based on my experience, Vivint may still expect payment regardless. I cannot recommend Vivint Security. Their unwillingness to provide a fair resolution has left me paying for nothing and feeling completely disregarded as a customer.

We had Mark Evans out to replace one ring camera and to bring another back online. He was terrific…read more He showed us the receipt for the camera and told us what the installation would cost before he began so that there would be no surprises. He also tailored the field for each camera to avoid cars driving by triggering a ring alert. More importantly, he worked with us and Ring Customer support for an extended period to bring all three cameras online. Due to some Ring technical glitch, only 2 of the 3 cameras were showing in our Ring phone apps. His expertise saved the day. We would not have been nearly as successful navigating with Ring without Mark to guide the conversation. I might also add that he is exceedingly patient as it took 3 calls with Ring before the problem was fixed.
