I have had storage units here since Fall of 2013. For the last 2 years, the staff here has been phenomenal! Let me give you the stark contrast. I have seen staff come and go. In the beginning a clerk led folks to believe would-be-clients that she was the owner-- friendly to get your business, but then she was too busy to be considerate once you were a client. When she disappeared, her staff that took over were arrogant and treated clients like their storage was company property and spent much time and talk on the burden of evicting and cleaning up after customers. There was a sense that things were out of control. Then one day this young woman was at the front desk. Her name is Dominque. She greets every one with a pleasant demeanor and patience when having to multi-task. She seems to put herself in the shoes of the clients and has forethought of what they might need and offers them options and on top of that she helps them break down what would be most cost effective for them. Then on top of that her efficiency with the paper work and computer system is seamless and makes me feel at ease and confident about how the whole place operates now. For example her staff came up with solutions how to keep the restrooms clean and vagrant free. She has been there for many upgrades. She makes sure clients are happy and informed. I have moved several times far away and am comforted that my precious items are secured and that if the staff needs to reach me for any reason they call or email me. That is so important when one is far away. Customer service is something I pay much attention to where ever I go. I have told her, she is the best. I am grateful for her lead because it is evident in that all the staff has a positive vibe now. God bless them. read more

HORRIBLE place. Found rat feces in my belongings. Security guard is Paul blart in a golf cart and an attitude. Such a scam. They charged me for a 10x20 for 3yrs when I had a 10x15. You aren't allowed to use the truck, bathroom or trash can. The security guard inspects your belongings as you move in and out. You aren't allowed to use pods or U-Haul's to move out. They WILL NOT WORK WITH YOU they only want money. The hours are posted as 7am-7pm but you can't be in after 645pm. This a horrible place to be especially since they tell every person something different. I had somebody call for pricing and they told them the price never goes up when it goes up every year. They also offer insurance that doesn't cover ANYTHING. There were multiple people moving at the same time on the same day for the exact same reasons. Please stay away and save your money. read more

My belonging have been completely destroyed by their failure to provide adequate protection from dust. I clean out the unit every 6 months & have complained to them about the lack of seal on the garage door and roof, yet nothing has improved. I've had to throw away items that couldn't be cleaned. To give you an idea of the amount of dirt, this is what my unit looks like after I just cleaned it 6 months ago. My boxed document files that have lids are filled with spiders & dirt too. I've never had a worse storage experience and I will be moving to another place because I can't keep up with the dirt. read more

if I could put a lower rating I would. my lock came up missing and the manager Dominique blamed me. I told them via email I was giving up me storage and wanted nothing else to do with there business. my code no longer worked after that. I recieved a letter 3 months later say I owed $1053.00 for back rent. when I contacted the manager she lies and said she said she had sent 3 prior letters. first saying they were certified and when I called and asked for the traciking # she back pedaled and made up some story about the post office haveing a record book and some stamp.. alll BS. so I'm paying the rat ass $ as of writing this and then I'm taking her and the owner to court to get the $ back as it was gotten through decider and fraudulent business practice. the scam they are running under threat of destroying my credit is going to cost so much more. RENTER BEWARE!!! In following up with post office my suspicion were absalut founded. There is no proof of service no tracking because they are so cheap they won't pay dollars for certified mail. they don't want you to get notice so the bill stacks up and they get your property it's a total scam but that what small claims court is for and it's worth the $1053.00 to show the management and owner for what they are con art and out n out thief's. read more

Ventura Power Self Storage on Victoria is well-run locally with competent, knowledgeable, helpful and energetic staff. I feel that my belongings are safe there and access is easy. The reasons for only three stars are: 1) Minus 1-star for the cleanliness of my particular 1st-floor, roll-up door unit. The wind and dust get whipped up between buildings and the door and seals are so poor that everything in the first 8 to 10 feet of the enclosure become coated in a heavy layer of dirt. 2) Minus 1-star for rent increases. I have been there two years and am starting my 3rd year with a new rate that is 24.5% higher than Year 1. I rarely go there and pay automatically with a credit card so I don't feel it's justified to exceed all relevant cost indexes just because it's legal. read more

I'm writing on behalf of my Spanish-speaking parents. They had been wanting to go for a while to look for a unit and I usually would go to help translate for them, but I couldn't make it due to work. However, they let me know about an employee there named Alan Arellano that helped them out immensely. He did not mind the language barrier at all, and answered any and all questions they had about the units. I was very worried there would be no employees there that spoke Spanish, so I'm glad Alan was there! My parents also said if he was incredibly nice and attentive to them. If you are looking for a well run secure, clean and professionally managed storage facility you are in the right place. Ventura Power Self Storage is centrally located near shopping centers, WalMart and between two freeways. There are a couple things you may find typical as a long term renter. Annual automatic rent price increases and available front gate access between the hours of 7am and 7pm have been the norm. read more

have been housing my stuff here for over a year but that's changing this weekend. I called their location and on two occasions, waited on hold for 10-15 minutes and got hung up on. I shouldn't be paying $150+ a month to not have somebody answer a phone during business hours when they're holding a lot of my valuable items. What if it was an emergency!?!? read more

The Front Desk staff are wonderful; friendly and helpful to the best of their ability. I'd rate the Front Desk staff - five stars. Stacy repeatedly charmed me, again and again, when I went in to complain that the light in our unit STILL had not been fixed. Unfortunately, the situation was out of her control... However, I'd only give one star to Upper Management's decision that their customers had to wait for needed repairs until they could be completed by ONE specific repair vendor. Months went by without resolution. The vendor was busy and couldn't come out that month. Or the vendor promised to come out but never showed up. Upper Management should have taken immediate action to use another vendorI I rented the unit in June but the electrical ballast in my unit was not repaired until September! I feel that the Upper Management should give their Front Desk staff a raise. They certainly deserve it for handling irate customers with diplomacy and grace! read more

The employee's are extremely rude. If you go more than once a day expect to be threatened with extra charges while the they chain smoke outside. I understand its not a high demanding job but they should at least treat their paying customers with some respect. When and if I can I will be moving my stuff out and would never recommend this place. They look clean but that's the only positive thing about them. We've gotten evcited since posting this. It is hit and miss with Power Self Storage. They change managers frequently and the service is very inconsistent as a result. The current manager, Dominique, is very difficult to work with. However, they do have one saving grace, which is an employee named Tristan. If you are going to go here ask for him. He goes above and beyond to try and help work out whatever problem you may have, no matter how big or small. He is patient, kind and knows the business like the back of his hand. He will not rest until an acceptable resolution is obtained, unlike the rest of the staff who seem to enjoy creating problems for you. They are also very expensive. I wouldn't recommend this facility, but if you do use them, ask for Tristan. read more

This service here is beyond exceptional! I came in they got me set up quickly. Very easy process! Was happy with that! They have a table for kids which had paper and crayons to entertain my 4 year old which was so perfect! The people in the office were so friendly. They have a 30 minute moving help service which saved my life since I had no help to move my truck! Tom helped me move my truck and entertain my daughter with lots of laughs! He went over and beyond! Great customer service and clean facilities plus the moving truck you can rent, inexpensive price compare to other truck rental services. First I wanted to rent a 5x10' storage because we thought we didn't have much stuff but they ran out of 5x10' so I had to take the 7x10' instead the staff(Stacey) told me that she will let me know ASAP if the 5x10' is available. Disclaimer- we did not use their storage facilities. My commentary is on their customer service. I initially booked the reservation on behalf of a local veteran our non-profit was working with and explained we'd be paying for the first month, confirmed forms of payment, set up the reservation with her information. Following my confirmation they called her directly (something I was trying to avoid since she was overwhelmed already) and explained they needed an actual credit card as a second form of ID which she does not have. This is an unusual policy, and while it may be their strict policy, I did not appreciate the way they worked with us from there forward. I called back myself and they wouldn't discuss the reservation with me in more detail (even though I'd booked it), had no alternatives to requiring a credit card SOLELY as identification, and after calling back to cancel with the manager and explain why this was frustrating I've not heard back. It's difficult to convey tone of voice in text, but the overall demeanor in the interaction regarding the credit card was unpleasant and for that reason I would not want to book here in the future. read more

So far it's been a great experience. They are very friendly and welcoming. The grounds are clean other than items that discourteous renters left behind. I haven't had a chance to use the amenities but I'm sure they'll be good. After shopping around, they had the best deal available for what we needed. read more

I was genuinely impressed. I wanted to be in and out with a storage room in my possession and that's what I got. The main office has rooms in it that replicate the sizes of the various sized storage units which is a genius idea, so you'll be able to have a good idea of what you're going to need from the start. You can buy your own locks (from the office if you don't choose to provide your own) for a very surprisingly decent price and you'll be shown available units beforehand, then you'll pay, you'll be given your gate code and you'll be able to start storing right then and there, piece of cake :) added bonus? The staff was very kind and very accommodating to my excessive questions without coming off as annoyed. read more

I priced out other storage business in the area. Prices were very fair and/or great depending on the size. I feel Iike I got a great deal especially for the location and level of security. I can get a text message every time my unit door get opened and the gate has a unique access code for everyone. Lots of cameras as well. I walked in and 15 minutes later I was loading my unit, really fast processing and auto billing every month to my credit card, which make life easy. read more

Candice, Griselda and Dominique are cheerful, helpful and take their customers seriously. Ramon keeps an eye on the facility and always has a smile and a warm handshake for you. I had five storage units with them over the past year during my move to Ventura and every interaction with them was pleasant and helpful. There are 1200 clients, but somehow they always made me feel special and welcome. They even have a truck they let you use when you need to move into or out of the facility. Candice can also recommend helpers for you. I think this facility is as good as it gets and I still have two small units for my overflow of "stuff" and I like to think this is a second home for my goods. Couldn't have asked for anything more in the way of service and value than at Power Self Service Storage. It was the special online rates that brought me in to check on a storage unit for my leftover articles. After reading, again, Mari Khondi's book on The Art of Tidying, I began a process that changed my life. Going through each recommendation as written, I'm free at last! The "Art" is about dealing with stress by simply reducing your "stuff" to only the things you need and use, even further with me, only the things I love. Everything is now exactly in it's place of importance to a peaceful life. That includes things, stressful situations, everything (and in a very kind way), everyone, is reimagined and revalued. Real friends noted, appreciated, and thanked. Intricate life changes have taken place for me after reading this book. Anyway, after the process was completed, I have some things that have give real meaning to my life that needed a place to rest. Power Storage manager, Dominique and Tom directed me to a great home for those precious artifacts that I could not part with. The positive possessions of no value moneywise, but valuable tracers of happier times in a difficult life. Dominique is efficient, eager to help and delivered exactly what she promised.
