This is a 4.5 star review. Power bowl was on my way to an event last night and I popped in because I needed a quick dinner and the shrimp mandu ($9) looked great. This place was exactly what I needed. It was simple, fast, and delicious! You get 5 mandu for the price and I thought it was a perfect, light dinner. The woman behind the counter was incredible. In the short time that I was eating, she had multiple, above and beyond conversations with customers, taking ample time to explain dishes or double bag their orders. I actually found myself smiling and interacting with customers, due to their conversations with her. Great experience!

Got a beef kimbap and banana milk. Really tasty and solid kimbap that was made fresh. There's a small seating area that I used when I waiting for my order. Kpop was playing on the tv screen. The staff was super nice and friendly. I will be back for lunch again!

Today was my first time here at Power Bowls. The whole place was empty and the owner of the place was sitting behind the cashier register waiting for customers. She was very nice and attentive with my order. I got a small bulgogi bowl (24 oz). The small bowl was pretty standard and was not that small so I was very happy about that. It cost $13.99 and around $15 including tax. They had a larger size but luckily I stuck to the small because the small bowl had a lot of ingredients already piled on top of the rice. She asked if I wanted everything in the bowl and I said yeah. The bowl had bulgogi beef, spinach, egg, grey squash, carrots, bean sprouts, scallions, sesame seeds, and rice. It was hard to mix the bowl because all the ingredients were tightly packed into the bowl. Normally I don't eat bulgogi beef but this time I really enjoyed it especially the red sauce the bowl came with. The red sauce was semi spicy, not so spicy that it will leave your mouth on fire! The bowl was very good in my opinion. I just wished it had more rice though. Also the eggs were kind of weird in my opinion. It was very long and stringy. I loved the bean sprouts a lot! Very crunchy! There was enough amount of beef in my bowl to keep me full! Ambience in the restaurant was very casual and quiet. This place was really small and cozy for individuals because there are no chairs. Only small round tables with long benches against the wall for individual seating. The walls are blue and had a nice mural painting on one side of the wall with some small paintings on the other side. This was a good lunch choice I had today and it is very close to my job. I love it a lot. Very filling and healthy! Nothing fatty at all in the bowl! Will come again next time I pass by it. I will be sure to try out their other items on the menu like the chicken teriyaki, which I don't find often on a Korean menu. They got spicy pork but I wonder how spicy the pork is.

Tucked away in a small storefront on John Street, Power Bowls packs a delicious punch! We walked in and were greeted by the owner who was SO sweet. They have a small but yummy menu - a few meat options for their bowls, some appetizers, and it turns out that the owner makes specials that are available on certain days (check out their Instagram for that!). My partner and I chose to split a large bowl and couldn't decide between meats, but they offered to include both meats in our bowl - even better! We also opted for all the sides, which were so flavorful and paired well with the meat. The kimchi and shrimp mandu were perfectly crisp and had a generous amount of filling. There are some tables inside for dine-in, but we got our food to go. It was perfectly packaged, no spills, and still very warm by the time we got home. That said, the interior was bright and clean. Absolutely worth stopping by!!

Love this cute Korean hole in the wall that's nestled in the heart of FiDi. The owner was so warm and caring to us, and made sure that we were satisfied with our food. She seemed genuinely passionate and excited about the cuisine even as she was serving us. I will definitely come back here for a quick bite.

An inviting little spot serving Korean-style rice bowls, this place keeps it simple with a limited menu featuring bulgogi, chicken teriyaki, spicy pork, and tofu. After selecting your bowl size and protein, you can customize it with unlimited mix-ins like spinach, marinated mushrooms, egg, cucumber, zucchini, bean sprouts, kimchi, and more. I ordered a large bowl to share with a friend, and the portions were incredibly generous. They also offer other affordable options like kimbap and mandu. It's a fantastic addition to the Financial District and perfect for a quick, satisfying lunch. Service was great. The owner was adorable and super friendly.

I loved how healthy and quick and easy this korean take out is. The owner Silvia and employee Nelso were so welcoming and kind. She explained everything. We ordered a melon Korean milk drink. Delicious. We ordered the kimchi and beef mandu dumplings. The kimchi was the best . So fresh, good flavor. The side dishes were fresh and tasty. The Kimbap rolls were delicious. I ordered the pork and beef. Best Ive had in NYC. Tender meats and fresh ingredients. My spicy pork bowl was fantastic. I loved everything morsel. Big portions too. So many fun korean snacks to try next time. Will definitely be back.

Delicious, authentic, homemade Korean food! Fast, convenient, generous portions served with kindness from a small business owner.

I happened to walk by this place and decided to give it a go-- great decision, because Power Bowls is amazing! I ordered the spicy pork kimbap and the bulgogi kimbap. While I waited for the food, I got to chat with the owner. She seems so sweet and was very welcoming, letting me know about the specials and ability to text ahead if you need to pick up your order in a hurry. The restaurant itself is bright and cheery, and has plenty of good snacks to buy as well. Food was ready quickly, tasted extremely fresh and delicious~ I loved both so much and will definitely be back to try out the bowls as well :) this place is a hidden gem and I'd definitely recommend you check it out

This is my second time here to grab their bulgogi kimbap which goes for about $8 or so. I think it's priced well esp given the quality and taste of it. The owner/staff is very friendly and the place is clean. I'm glad it opened near me so I can drop by and grab a quick lunch or dinner. Definitely want to try their other dishes next time!

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

When we pulled up to the restaurant, we were informed there were a few levels. We went to the second floor and they were happy to accommodate us. We were rolling 6 deep and the booth was enough for us, but barely. In our party, majority of us wanted meat with the exception of 2 people only wanting shrimp and something else. We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

What a nice kbbq experience!!…read more I rlly liked the shrimp & chive pancake bc it wasn't super heavy and not full of batter like other places. Pretty light and crispy with a lot of shrimp and chives. Skirt steak was my fav, very tender and so much authentic flavor. Manhattan, NY (Koreatown) - I love BCD and frequent the one in Fort Lee pretty regularly, but for…read moreyears have assiduously avoided this NYC location as it's always a madhouse every time I've come here for dinner with friends or co-workers, and because there are so many other great Korean options on this strip. But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. But for lunch? Unexpectedly great. 4 stars for dinner, 5 for lunch.
