I needed a passport shot & this was the closest place. The lady took about 12 shots & none were good. She didn't know how to use the lamp, it kept turning off. It was a little tiny camera & that flash didn't work right. She went to answer the phone & I said I'm going someplace else. She called after me, no no no ,come back. Unfortunately the woman in charge (ceslli a) waisted most people time including mine. Many complaints from customers standing in line, horrible no one wants to listen to her conversations She so inconsiderate with customers time in store. Talks too much.!! If you're going to just drop off a package or you need some office supplies or a scented candle, this is an ok place. If you want to get important documents notarized or copied - I recommend you go elsewhere. On July 13th, 2024 my wife and I went in to get several documents notarized for some business we wish to do in Spain. These documents were signed incorrectly by the notary, Cecilia Torres, which caused issues at the Secretary of State's office for us later on. On this date, she also forgot to put our names and fingerprints in the registry. Without knowing there were problems ahead, we came back to get a few more documents notarized on August 8th, 2024. During this visit, she told us that color copies of our passports were a felony. This turns out to be entirely untrue; in fact, some government sites recommend keeping color copies as they preserve the best detail. Of course, you can't use said copies to create a forgery, but our purpose was to send copies to the Spanish government at their request - hence the notary. We had her do copies of our passports for a second process for the Spanish government. Mine came back missing pages and out of order. When I let her know she just snapped "which pages". Lady - you had one job. Take copies of each page and place them in order. It's a passport not War and Peace. She then demanded that we make our signatures match exactly how they are presented on our passports, which is not at all a requirement for documents to be notarized. I know this because my wife is a notary - she can't do our documents because of the conflict of interest. All the notary needs is for us to sign or even just tell her that we signed. Nope - so much agro over signing "correctly" that I wanted to cut my wrists open and just bleed out right there. To redo one of these pieces, she provided the wrong form, which was immediately kicked out of the process when we turned it in to the Secretary of State's office a day later. She then signed two pieces of our documents that required her name and title (Notary Public), without her title. These two documents were also kicked out. This whole process took a mind-numbing 40 minutes to complete, and of course completed incorrectly. Thankfully, when we schlepped these incorrectly notarized documents all the way to downtown Los Angeles, there was an actual competent notary just around the corner from the apostille's office. Said notary saved the day. He had me out of there in 5 minutes and everything sailed through the apostille process. We returned the incorrect documents to this lady, and the first thing she did was deny that we had even come in on the 13th. She checked the book and saw that our signatures weren't there, and said she didn't do it. My wife presented the paper with her signature on it swearing that she was, in fact, there on that date and then we made a little progress. * She laughed at the fact that only one of the pieces that she had notarized made it through the process. * She never ever offered an apology or acted contrite about her inability to correctly notarize a document. * She had us retroactively sign and fingerprint her notary book for her lapse on the 13th, which is (apparently) quite against the law. At least she refunded us for three pieces. I wish I could somehow also extract recompense for the time, frustration, and inconvenience from her but sadly that isn't possible. If your document is even a little bit important (and you already know your time is valuable) - don't go here for notary services. read more

This Postal Annex is not only good at domestic shipping, they take care of my mail when I am far away from home. Recently, due to a family emergency I had to travel to Taiwan and stay there for a while. Cecilia did a phenomenal job at taking care of my mail and forwarding the time-sensitive ones to me when necessary. This is our local PostalAnnex that our family visits often for shipments ad occasional gifts. Great selection of cards in our area. It has improved in customer service, display of gifts, and love the flower arrangements . The lady Cecily who works there is quick in processing our shipments and dozen of notaries with no errors. She is great with our kids and dogs. We love the new addition of seeing Cookie Dough. read more

I went here to get a new passport. A month later I received a later telling me my photo wa damaged and I had to send another one(see photo of letter). When I returned to postal annex I was immediately told by the person working (which was the same person that was there the first time) there that it wasn't their fault and I would have to pay again to have my picture taken and sent off. She told me that I saw her put it together and she did nothing wrong. I said maybe you didn't let it dry all the way before placing in envelope. She told me to get out of the store. read more

Rudest customer service. Went to do a simple package drop off & was the worst experience i've had. Older American woman was the worker, was soo argumentative. All she had to do was scan my QR code and take my package. I've sent off packages before from this company & never had to put it in a different packaging, but yet told me i've been " clearly doing everything wrong from the beginning" with the worst attitude. As a small business you'd think the owners& employees of the business would be more friendly and helpful, was the exact opposite experience. This Postal Annex+ is in the same parking lot as the US Post Office. We needed postage for two Flat Rate Priority Boxes (our mistake for not going to the USPS). They charged us DOUBLE for the postage. Literally double. Again I will say it was our mistake for not going to the other side of the parking lot and buying postage from the USPS directly. But I think clients should know that they are charging DOUBLE just for postage. We brought the boxes in addressed, taped and completely ready to go. This place is a total RIP OFF! read more

I really don't enjoy posting negative reviews and putting people on blast but since the manager didn't contact me today, here we go! This is a formal complaint regarding associate Maryjane at this location. On 11/26 I picked up what I assumed was my package. Maryjane took my Id and wrote my name down (incorrectly at that) meaning she did not check my ID thoroughly. She gave me the WRONG PACKAGE and when I opened it I realized it was incorrect. I returned after travel today, on December 9 and she had the audacity to argue with me that it was my fault that I received the incorrect package. I'm sorry but I'm assuming you're giving me the correct package based on the tracking number and my ID that I provide! I'm not thinking that after all of that, you're going to give me someone else's package! What a huge liability! She was very combative and all I wanted to do was pickup the right package and drop off the one she incorrectly gave me so the rightful owner could pick it up. She continued to go on and on about why I didn't check first and why it took me so long to come back after receiving the package. I found it to be completely ridiculous that she was not at all apologetic for the mistake she made and that she was affirming that it was my fault for not double checking. I obviously regret not double checking her work and lack of competence. People make mistakes and I get it but to try to blame me and get frustrated that I didn't do her job for her and provide myself with the correct package is beyond me. I didn't get upset until she tried blaming me for her mistake. She could have just given me the correct package so I could be on my way but instead chose to be rude, combative and defensive. I went in for passport photos, for my 3 year old son. I took snacks for him to help ease him into taking the picture. When we get there we were greeted and assisted by Cecil. My son is seated on a roll on cart due to how high the screen for the picture is. As me and my husband are trying to help my son to look at Cecil she snatches his snack bag telling him if he wants his snack he needs to take the picture as I try to grab the bag away from her she hands it back to my son. At this point my son is almost in tears because this animal of a lady touched his property for no reason. I'm livid and sick to my stomach of the audacity she felt entitled to have any right to touch my son's property. She then had the nerve to tell me that I'm feeding into his "negative behavior". My son did not like her that isn't negative behavior. I would stay away from this place. This human violated my son's safe space by touching his property. read more

NEW OWNERSHIP IS TERRIBLE! The employees who work there, and have worked there are absolutely GREAT! I cannot emphasize this enough! I go here almost daily to send stuff out for an online business. The other day I went in and sent out about $200 of packages. I bought all my boxes, peanuts and everything else from them because I like supporting University City businesses and it's close by. Today, I had one extra package to send out and hadn't taped the box top. No big deal... we go through and the women, whom I believe is the new owner, tells me it's $18 to send. Done. It's a business expense, so I check my receipt and it's $19 with an additional "finishing" fee, something that wasn't mentioned. So I ask about it and apparently it's for the labor of throwing about 12 packing peanuts into the box and adding 8 inches of tape to the seal the box. This wouldn't haven't bothered me so much except for a few things: - The fact that she charged me a different price than she told me I would be charged - She was there the other day when I spent $200+ and bought a HUGE bag of packing peanuts and a roll of tape, which I LEFT THERE because I just wanted to get the packages out and my mind was really not caring about the tape. - Another customer was there just to drop something off, as he had done for as long as the shop has been there. She tried arguing with him about something that he's been dropping off regularly for years. He ALSO mentioned how piss-poor the customer service was now too. I will be finding another place to mail my packages out on an almost daily basis. All because of $1. Hope it's worth it! read more

The. Worst. We've had a PO Box here for years. They used to be reliable. Every since they got new owners last year, it's been terrible. They changed the hours and they're very inconvenient for me now. Not to mention they are ALWAYS late opening their doors. Right at this very moment it is 9:10am and I'm sitting in front of the store waiting for them to open. A mistake was made and the wrong shipment service was sold to me.I paid $140 for a standard over night LETTER not a parcel.(over charged close to $80).Tried to get it resolved and the owner doesn't respond after two trip and 2 phone calls.She responded through her employee that there are no refunds.This is unacceptable as THEY charged me the wrong price.It is a sad situation that a business that was run so efficiently in the past by Jane has deteriorated under the new management. So great to have this store in the neighborhood. They have wonderful cards for every occasion, a wide range of mailing supplies, and the nicest people behind the counter. So why the 1* review? Because there's an animatronic elephant at the front door that sings "Do your ears hang low...?" ENDLESSLY. I have gone into the store to buy things but couldn't bear that endless repetition of that annoying song and had to leave, along with several other customers who had thought it might be possible to shop there but couldn't bear the shrill sound, either. I came in today to drop off some packages but there was a line and only one girl working. Like anywhere else, I understand that FIRST COME is FIRST SERVED.. She helped everyone accordingly and kept her calm when other people were getting impatient and cutting the line to drop off their packages like I was. We have to wait for them to scan in the packages and that they have to scan the package in front of us to insure that it is a valid and, so that they can provide us a receipt for the package for proof that we drop it off. I totally understand that. If you come in and see a line but only one person, prepare to wait like everyone else even though you are just dropping it off. They really need more employees.. Every time I come in there is a line. And only one person working. Other than that the girl working by herself is really nice & helpful. read more

I called at 3:41 to ask what time the last drop off for UPS overnight was she says 4 o'clock. I responded by telling her I would be there in 15 minutes or less. I arrived at 3:50 PM 10 minutes before the last drop off. The driver was there and they had closed out their computer system for UPS overnight. So I wasn't abler to mail my package.
