I am a student that had to order textbooks here over this past quarter. Quality has never been an issue, but customer service is an entirely different story. I contacted the store multiple times through email and phone, but only received a response once. I asked if I could cancel my online order within an hour of ordering because I had decided I would no longer take the course due to financial costs. Despite the multiple emails and calls I made asking them to help me out, all I got back was a shipping information email. I received another response a day later with a short "no refunds on course readers" message. Although I understand this was definitely oversight on my end, I would have appreciated a more courteous customer service experience, especially after I shared my financial struggles with them. I sent another email that was never opened or replied to. I only buy things from here because my professors require us too. Otherwise, I would take my business elsewhere. read more

I'm a professor, and I have these people make my course readers. They are very nice, do decent work, and charge a mere fraction of what you'd pay at the alternatives. It's a family run place, which, of course, I always love. And they're a pleasure to work with. If you have major printing needs, try here first. Try Kinkos last, and only then if you find that you have so much money that you don't know what to do with it all. read more

Quick service, they get you in and out once you place your order. Only concern was that I had to come in a few times throughout the day one time because the place was closed/empty during the open hours posted. There wasn't a sign that they were on a lunch break either, so I came back a few times until I saw someone unlock the doors and opened again. read more

This review is for their passport photo service. Wow. Horrible quality. I placed two orders thinking I could trust the guy. I was not even able to use the photos because they were too exposed. I went back and explained to the guy that the photos would not work for what I needed them for - he just said "these are perfect pictures!" with an attitude and refused to fix the problem. If you need passport pictures, go somewhere else. read more

Maybe it's because I've held various jobs in customer service, or maybe it's because I like things done a certain way but the way I look at it is if you are the only worker at your business, then when a customer walks in, you get off your phone and stop having a personal conversation. Imagine my dismay when this did not happen during my trip to Cal Copy about a month ago. I was already pissed off that my professor required us to pick up an expensive reader from here instead of at the university book store and now I had to deal with waiting ten minutes too long in a stuffy store with no a/c. I wasnt even asked to wait, or hold on. The employee or possibly even owner's conversation just kept going and going. When he finally attended to me, I gave him the slip of paper with the book that I needed and he returned with the WRONG book. Seriously dude? I'm usually forgiving and understand people have off days... but he had one job, and not only did he not perform it in a timely fashion, but he was unable to deliver the right item. I instantly pointed out his mistake, and I received no apology. I paid the $80 for the book and he returned to his conversation. I, on the other hand won't return to Cal Copy unless absolutely necessary. read more

Super quick, super professional service and key making. Was helped instantly and took care of my even most strenuous needs. 10/10 recommend over places like Home Depot and such. Best key place in la Jolla and the surrounding area read more

Great place to get printing and shipping done. Came in a few weeks ago to print out various pages for my college classes and it was quick and easy. The owner Reza is also very nice and accommodating! Also got my passport pictures done here and they came out great read more

This place is very unorganized. Initial perception is that they take advantage of their customers. I went in to have something wrapped packed and shipped and they just had boxes laying all over. Wrapping was haphazard with paper, minimum bubble wrap and tape. I was worried my package would be ruined. After expressing my concern they still charged me $5 for minimum packaging and supplies! I do not recommend this place. read more

Great place to do all your printing and shipping. Also very fast service. Love my color prints and posters. Thank you read more

The guy running this shop has exceedingly poor communication skills...and I suspect it's because he just doesn't care, not that he lacks the ability. Basically I'm out $12.00 because he couldn't be bothered to elaborate. Not allot of money, but that he KNEW the job wouldn't be what I was asking for, and simply found it easier to charge me and do the wrong thing then talk to me.....that's just the worst. read more

i get my course readers here, and i appreciate that instructors use this place cause it's cheap and there are less . . . um, copyright issues. i guess you get what you pay for though cause half the time the articles are skewed and sliding off the page, missing pages, or they've copied some silhouette of a mysterious object over the text. they're also not fantastic with the customer service. i get the distinct impression they hate students. i don't really blame them. read more

I had a really great experience here, I was able to get a lot of help on my college project, I would recommend for students or anyone who needs copy work needed, I would for sure come back! read more

3.5 stars. The guy working there is really nice. He's the older gentleman with white hair. He's really helpful. The prices are fair and they can order whatever you need fast. I've been here on several occasions to pick up readers/papers for class and they're always in stock and I've never had a problem. The prices aren't cheap, but they're fair. Yeah. I'd go back here. read more

These guys do really work and they are the cheapest. They specially do volume work and binding. Good color copies, workstations both Mac and PC, business cards, banner printing and they also accept American Express! read more

Reza is the best! I rely on Cal Copy daily for my printing, shipping and other office related services.

I just bought one of the course reserves from a man named Reza. Its amazing to be able to purchase textbooks at an affordable rate. Im glad that this business is so close to campus and I hope more professors utilize his services. read more

Horrible!! The guy working there overcharged me and I feel cheated. I was only using the computer for one minute and waited the other four minutes for him to print it for me and he wanted to charge me $5 to print just 2 pages! I gave him a look of disbelief and he arbitrarily said, fine, just $3. $3 to print 2 pages!! I'm never going there again. It's such a shady place. read more

I had excellent service from Reza, who knew exactly what to do in regards to shipping-- I truly felt like a valued customer. They even tried to contact me after I had left something there! Will be my go-to for future shipping needs. read more

Opened on a Saturday just for me, so I could get my course reader. Very friendly and they always put customers first.

Fast & easy. Good quality copies at great prices. Reza rocks!

Idk wats the deal but the owner always close the place early. Either change your business hour or open till what your hour actually says. It's such a wasting of time coming here just to find out they closed at 4 when the sign on the door says they close at 4 30. Uh read more

5 $ for 2 pages black and white A4 printing. Be careful! Would never go back here Bad place

Really bad service. The owner of this shop has really bad communication skills. I was the only customer on that day and took him half hour to print out a poster. IN WRONG SIZE! And in very bad printing quality with huge color difference! And he blamed me for bringing the wrong file. Also required to cut a cardboard and he did it in WRONG SIZE Again, and charged me $25 for all that. DON'T COME TO THIS SHOP! read more
